going back to fundamentals would take some time, plus it might disturb his current style. if he wants to keep fighting this year, doubling down on his current approach is the most efficient way to get him far. if he doesn't plan on fighting in the near future then yeah he should probably go back to the basics but at that point he can forget about catching up to jake, period

@@lavafighter3236 I disagree with this actually. In the Fournier fight his shots were WILDLY misplaced and out of control. He kept swinging hard and without looking which kept catching Fournier in the back of the head repeatedly. His karate stance is only going to work up to a certain point. It’s something that CAN be studied and countered pretty hard, which is why a lot of people have been saying that if he wants to do better outside of the influencer bracket, he NEEDS better fundamentals.

I don’t think he would win against Jake at this point in time because of his lack of fundamentals, and the fact that there’s now more than enough data out there to to counter his style, pacing, and narrow down game plans. I think if he keeps pursuing that MVP style, he’ll either keep fighting lesser opponents which looks bad, or he’ll eventually fight someone in the crossover scene that will counter it. I think if he truly wants to advance in this sport, he needs to go down to the basics and train the fundamental way. That being said, no joke, he could be a good MMA fighter with his level of aggression.

Ryan Taylor is much bigger than KSI. Zanetti is a similar size to KSI, A bit shorter but more muscle. This is why its a weight division and not height division. But I believe Zanetti was probably high out of his mind which kept him standing up.

The question(s) I am asking myself is... Why is KSI fighting? Is it to chase the Jake Paul fight? Is it to become a professional? Is KSI and Jake Paul plausibly, realistically going to happen? No it won't, if it does I'll be the first to say I am wrong - But I don't think I am. The question I ask myself following this is: Is KSI realistically going to continue to box to the point where he actually takes it professionally? No, he simply has too many ventures. With these in mind, I simply don't think opponent credibility is an important enough factor. Both Jake and KSI in some equal measure have contributed to this fight not happening... Be it from "Fight Gib first?" - to "I'm taking this professionally" - To "I need to warm up", to "I don't think he's a big enough draw now" I think KSI would be better just fighting influencers, and I honestly think if he kept progressively fighting boxers at or above Tommy's level, then I think much sooner than later, his fighting style flaws will become much, much more apparent. Further, people are putting too much stock into "He's just an influencer boxer", or "He's a professional boxer" - Sorry but they mean absolutely little, and I think with the performance that Andre August put on, under similar circumstances, there are quite a few influencers that would beat him.

This is barely true honestly. People were terrified of Josh Brueckner in this scene. He had pro MMA experience on top of being completely ripped and a fitness influencer so his S&C was great too. Before he actually fought Papi, people were talking about how Brueckner was gonna be too much for him based off experience and body type alone. You're correct that Middleweights shouldn't be calling out Cruiserweights but this is different because of the type of fights JJ has had and who he has fought. Plus he lost to Tommy and his corner on video were caught telling him to hug and if he can get hit on the back of the head tommy might lose more points. So yeah KSI VS Slim should happen it would bring JJ back from the loss of Tommy. You can’t say JJ gets defended if he arguably beat the toughest opponent anyone in this scene in Tommy Fury. You can make jokes about hugging, but the reality is Tommy was engaging in that fight. Slim offers nothing to KSI. We’re past the tune up stage. KSI is too big for Slim. And his cardio makes it a mismatch. Zanetti was hurting Slim in his Debut.

Slim is not out of pocket and let me tell you why as a fighter you should always be taking bigger risks and putting it all out on the line so for slim this would be a step up and for KSI it wouldn't be a step down just because he fought Tommy Tommy doesn't even have any knockouts and slim does also KSI got robbed in the fight and KSI fought tempper Fournier and the 2 in one night fight slim is better than all four of those fighters I think slim would put up a good fight against Tommy and ksi lastly salt papi did better against Anthony Taylor than tommy did and slim knocked out salt papi
