To all those who don’t understand why there is such a low number of Black Beauty Supply stores in our community…me and my father tried to open one and quickly found out all the manufacturers and distributors are in Asia and they do terrible business when it comes to us, why, because they only want they’re people to succeed…it goes really deep and we quickly learned how diabolical and racist these people are towards us🤮🤮🤮

I did find a beauty supply store, black owned but they didn't greet me nor look at me, didn't even bother to ask me did I needed any help smh I felt unwelcome there as well. Black people are lost, comes from a lifetime of bad decisions. We want to look good, but will not make sound decisions. We want to be big spending instead of smart investors. We don't value good credit, higher education, no criminal record, staying drug-free...... So we don't have a network that provides long-term wealth.

Why I tell you why us people of color would rather buy cars gold chains Gucci Prada etc instead of saving money and opening there own businesses.... Also Asians Jews Mexicans... They all help each other out if one of them owned a grocery store even if they could find groceries at a cheaper price they would still shop at the store owned by their own kind to help out... I've noticed black people are too much in competition with each other... Instead of shopping in their own stores to help out their community they would rather hate on that person and shop somewhere else correct me if I'm wrong..

I used to work with a guy who was married to a woman he met when he was stationed in South Korea. He brought her to America and even though her English wasn't good, she opened her own nail salon. He told me the Korean community where we lived which was Fairfax, Virginia gave her a loan. She had to pay it back when the business got going. This is what they did for any new immigrant from their country who looked like a good risk. Why those kinds of places? Because it's one of those jobs where you don't have to speak perfect English just enough to get by, similar to what is called McDonald's English when fast food places hire immigrants.

I hope that in the next installment, you talk about how the US and local governments played an important part in this. Redlining not only limited where we could buy homes, but also limited where minorities could set up businesses. Pay attention to where many Asian owned business are located. If there are Asian business in white communities, they are usually Asian-themed restaurants. In the 1970’s, the Nixon administration changed policies towards Chinese Americans in order to open China to American businesses. Before then, Asians were treated badly also. (Korean and Vietnam war anyone?) They were given access to capital, with redlining rules of where they could open. Food and hair in black communities were obvious choices when they couldn’t make money in their own communities. Couple that with products being made in China very cheap and China giving preference to Asian and White businessmen, and you have the situation you have today. If this is left out, you’re not telling the whole story.

Throughout the 60s , 70s and 80s most beauty supply stores were Black owned but we got out sourced China, Korea ECT started monopolizing the beauty industry and charging Black owners higher prices and with many Black owned Beauty suppliers and businesses gone out of business or sold to other companies like madam CJ walkers without the Black owned companies Black owners were forced to buy abroad and unfairly pay the higher prices while Asian owned stores pay far less giving them cheaper prices all around.

The thing is that we can know all of this and still go there. If black women had the enough discipline and self love and respect. Then they would just walk around natural and never give another dollar of support to these people. That's the move that you all should have made 20 and 30 years ago. But no, you gotta have your wigs and your nails and your makeup.

Hair and nails used to be a creativity and business for many black women a long time ago. Many of them stopped doing hair, stop doing nails and got fixated with corporate America and there is nothing wrong with that but somewhere down the line those that had that gift gave it up and that could be for a variety of reasons, but it doesn't mean this generation cannot build their own and flourish. The days of supporting people who would only spit, piss and kill us are OVER and if not, it need to be over!

IDK why? Im minority myself who came from Southeast Asian. I’m not Korean either. Since Korean people too short for American Sport, they decided to sell anything to make a living. Please don’t get me wrong the sport commissioners need to start hiring 5ft 1 inch to play for professional levels. Baseball,Basketball and Football players through out USA got pay a lot of moneys at least (300mil). Beside sport, any jobs that involved with government program in the city, state, and federal are filled up fast by my dear black American friends. They have it all. For example Post office these jobs are paying pretty high 30/hr or more. However Walmart ,Sam,Kohl’s and Costco theirs employees starting from general mangers down to cashiers positions were occupied by minority black American. The stock Walmart and other SP500 NYSE generated the profits to black American employees and community only. I’m not Korean or either Chinese people please help help 😭😭😭😭. Im Just minority(Asian). My vote doesn’t count😢😢😢😢😢. Walmart became best partner with China. They opened thousands Walmart stores in China. More black American in USA become rich and richer due to Chinese populations 1.5 billion.it’s fair to blamed them by calling their countries name out like Korean,Chinese,Vietnamese,Thai,Cambodian,Indian or Laos instead of Asian. Chinese,Vietnamese, and Indian are not friendly to us either.

Surely, Black people in business are NOT that shut out and helpless and need another alien race of people to be dependent on for goods and services. If so.. then much needs to be done and addressed and even boycotting them until they come correct....or not all! Why not Black supporting their own and navigate around Asians and Arabs that inhabit the neighborhoods by doing their own and employing their own. Surely Black people like in the past did this and without immigrant aliens even being in the same spaces either! Peace.

If you have to go across town and stock up for weeks at a time. Don't you buy not even a book of matches from that corner store. we could've shut all of that down. We always had the power. But that's why the man was destroyed and chased out of the house. And the lives of his children. And his position as the leader, provider and protector of his community. Deuteronomy 28:48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

It is a capitalistic society. i do not think it is appropriate to say you're not black so you shouldn't open a beauty store

You’re still talking about something that’s irrelevant. I’m giving you the attention your inner child needs so there shouldn’t be any more reason to keep bringing them up.

:Truth Be Told: This is true so are the comments that I've read. But what I fail to understand is why do and did continuously e to patronize these stores. If a "Black" store owner treat "Blacks" how we are treated in these stores "Blacks" wlstop shopping at the "Black" own store. But "Blacks" will keep shopping at anyone else's store as they complain. Make all the excuses about convenience and low prices you want. The true reason to s low self-esteem and self-hatred. Stop shopping at the stores is the solution. Read Dueteronomy Chapter 28 for The True Answer.

I laugh every time I hear a woman talking about how strong and glorious women are. And you are. When you are in your power and correct frame. But none of you strong independent so and so's were strong enough to keep the black community together, safe and on the right track. That's something that we can only do together. That's why I can't take you seriously.
