It doesn't help that they built in inflation to make your money worth less every year, causing an increase cost of living. So the irony is that you have to work harder every year for the same or even diminished standard of living. All of your work and productivity is actually stolen by the rich. So even if you don't want to participate in consumer capitalism, you still have ever increasing costs and nobody knows how much you need to retire. That way we'll stay in a perpetual state of fear of not having enough causing us to constantly work harder. Designed by the rich, for the rich. I'm in a decent financial position yet my property taxes are going up again, 8 percent. And I calculated that at this rate, they will be $10,000 a year by the time I'm 55. It's ludicrous. It's literally stolen wealth. Everything in place is designed to steal wealth from the people and give it to the rich.

How do they own you ? They provide goods and services that you want. You provide time and labor that they want to make those goods and services. It is mutual. Where you position yourself in society is entirely up to you. Up until a few hundred years ago, people have no choice by birth. In today's world, it is up to each person to pick what they want to be successful.

I found that I had more money, more freedom and more self respect. I own my own home and have no debts. I have traveled overseas and even lived in China for a while. I couldn’t agree more with this..I’ve been trying to tell people this for over two decades. I realised in my twenties that I was spending more than half of my awake life at work in exchange for a mediocre wage, whilst making obscene amounts of money for the company. I detested nothing more than commuting to/from work, being told when I could/couldn’t eat & shit & not having enough free time to cook a decent meal..I love food but was sick & tired of sacrificing my own health by being forced to eat nutritionally devoid crap. I walked out in the middle of a shift & started working from home. I wake up when I want, eat when I want, shit when I want & I work no more than 12 hours per week. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve sacrificed some income but I’m not making much less than I was for working 4 times the hours & it can be stressful at times, not knowing if any work is going to come in, but I’m happier than ever & wouldn’t change a thing. I can walk my dog, cook great meals, pop out during the day & work on an evening, which is waaay better than coming home at 6pm when it’s too late to do anything or enjoy a bit of sunshine on my face. Never again will I waste my life going to work to make money for somebody else or a big company..everything about it is just plain wrong..we live in a completely dysfunctional society !

A slave is someone who is forced to work. We are compelled to pay taxes by every justification (excuse) conceivable. We even have to pay rent for the house we own. In order to pay, we have to find the money somewhere. For most of us, the one asset we have in glorious abound, is our labour - and thus, we are forced to work. That makes us slaves.

It's very interesting to note some studies comparing modern high brow office labor, low level menial labor or mid leveled skilled trade labor to medieval, self reliant agricultural work (which was seasonal and not based on year-round corporate deadlines), and the results were that modern wage slaves are more chronically overworked, have less vacation time and on top of that, we are probably far less mentally healthy than an actual peasant, believe it or not. We work more and with less breaks than the supposedly enslaved and miserable peasant of the feudal times. We are working to get fake money, to serve the IRS, pay universal welfare, infrastructure and school tax, we pay for gas to get to and from work, we pay for tuitions to enter modern Universities, we get into student loan debt and credit card debt as well; we have our thirty year mortgage payments and rent payments to make, whereas a serf or free farmer in the middle or medieval ages worked three seasons and took frequent religious holidays along with the rest during the Winter time when everything was dormant and there were no seeds to be sewn. Our children have become useless burdens that cost too much money instead of useful assets that work alongside us in contributing to the community. Plus skilled guild labor or Gold & Silver coin itself was the currency in pre-industrial society, not inflationary bank notes that can collapse an entire economic system. Modern people work to either buy things and prove their social status for the sake of peer approval & easy, childless sex, or we struggle to make ends meet with a devalued currency that becomes increasingly worthless as each year passes. Technically we are commiting slow economic suicide and serving our short term narcissistic vanity, not really "surviving" in the same sense as our ancestors did. Most modern "jobs" are worthless anyways, because most of the specialized tasks we rely on tradespeople, public authorities and clerks to do for us (like educating our young, fixing our own houses, settling face to face disputes, serving local justice, cleaning our own houses or repairing our own tools) was done by the family or townsfolk themselves without outside intervention . People nowadays are so anemic, entitled, dependent, helpless, fragile and whiny because were born into too much high tech comfort, and our system forces people into divided little 9-5 cubby holes where we do one thing over and over until we drop dead or have a heart attack due to chronic stress. So much for "progress".

This should be on top. To balance things up, people in medieval times (speaking about lower class, peasants) did not have the possibility of today. Peasants becoming painters? Not on their own. Crafts were taught in secret. A master craftsmen would not teach random people, nor share knowledge, unlike today. This is not about a job, but pursuing an activity that is not meant for monetary gains. In other words, a peasant could become a master at painting, nor doing it as a hobby. (of course , this is for the free peasants only, ignoring the sherfs, bond servants, and slaves, which did work for their masters, then for themselves (if they had time or could do it)) On the other hand, they had more free time. There were times for specific things, planting, harvesting, fixing tools etc. Can't grow food during winter, and one cannot work daily to grow food. Modern life kinda doesn't have that (depends who you ask). If one is employed, the job occupy the whole year, with maybe a month brake (thanks to the laws), regardless if the one earns more than consumes or living paycheck by paycheck. A this point, man live for work, rather than, the man works for himself (or helping others). Today's system are the shackles of the ancient man, but having a little free time, but with a leach on his neck. To add more, in order to function in the current society, one needs a legal documents, such as, birth certificates, ids, and a residence. Without these, can do nothing in the society. When the world will turn cashless, these things will be mandatory (I wish to live and to see beggars with bank cards asking for a spare change) . And if a law is passes for residences, like its for cars, residences having an expired date (ie end of life), new generations will require to buy new houses, resulting in debt. These three things sound like a watered down, or paved the road, for the mark of the beast.

Strangely enough this video misses the hole point of wage slavery. Money is just an instrument of exchange: you exchange your labor for food, shelter, clothes and so on. So essentially you exchange your life for means to keep living and not starve to death - that's the slavery. The problem of overconsumption is actual only for a few developed countries, where people can afford to buy extra stuff. While the majority of the population is straggling just to earn enough to buy food. And even food is a luxury for some.
@TomScryleus
@TomScryleus 4 жыл бұрын
I see your point, I don't disagree. I just think its question of perspective. Someone in a poor country could look at me and say I am rich, and would be right from his perspective. But I think wage slavery happens everwhere, especially when we are forced to work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. I will make more videos, to explain further what I mean. thanks for sharing your thoughts. have a nice weekend.

@@TomScryleus Well, yes, I didn't make my point clear, I guess. It sounds as if a person have money on extra stuff, then he's not a wage slave, which is not true, of course. I guess I just wanted to say that cutting one's consumption is not an option, because of an intrinsic defect of the system in which we live. It's a good thing to try shift one's focus from materealistic things to a real life excperience, but it's only a temprorary fix that allows us not to lose our minds.

Two years ago, I embraced minimalism. I gave away or sold hundreds of items I had accumulated. I cancelled all unnecessary subscriptions, etc. My focus now is to pay of what’s left of my mortgage and then I will have no debt. I work part time (25 hours a week) and I take 6 weeks holiday a year. I spend my time learning new things, walking in the woods, reading books, and taking in rescue animals. Sometimes I feel like I’m missing out and that my life is small. But then I think that any action that involves me borrowing money to accomplish it is self-harm and so I don’t get into debt for holidays or buying new things.

Some of the things that give me the greatest pleasure, money couldn't buy... That is not to say that money wouldn't enhance these things. For instance, I enjoy creating things. People who operate on that level don't live the way celebrities do. They lead very private lives. You would not know them if they were crossing you on the street, but they could buy your life. the point of life is to live and breathe. Imagine if you were born alone in this world with no one else. No one will tell you to go to school because there will be no schools, no one will make you work for them for minimum wage, you won't have the so-called dream to be a footballer or a doctor because that will be irrelevant but you will have life and live it and in the end, you will die. It's the civilization that makes us think we have a purpose in life but in reality, human life is the same as any other life form on the eath. We go from birth to life to death anything in between is just something to pass time. My friend in high school died during freshman year, we had many dreams and he also had so many things that he wanted to do in the future but sadly he passed away. Every time I remember him I see no point to stress about things in life, just do what you love, travel have fun and know all will end one day.

Lol. I know I'm probably wasting my breath here but I want to try and explain the stupid of this statement. Once upon a time in many places your statement may have rang true as exile was not only allowed but often a sentence for those that the power structure disagreed with. Today exile is no longer allowed. And even if it was there would be no land capable of supporting life for your exile to take place as any land capable of supporting life is eagerly grabbed up or destroyed by the rich and powerful. Take the eastern United States for example where the ninth district has ruled that rest constitutes a crime If you've no legal place of resting. Wherever you go you are on property controlled by the powerful and when you are not permitted to rest on these properties that is in fact a sentence of death by torture as by law you are required to continuously keep moving until you die. These laws may not always be enforced but they are still the law. Not to mention the humiliation and pain that the slaves of society are encouraged to heap upon you for choosing this path especially if you are not of a religion. If you do not except the mental shackles These religions who have taken over the place of government social programs while they erase their history offer then you are the enemy and are to be sentenced to a terrible and slow death. We currently live in a system of wealth divide that has not been seen since the time of the pharaohs. In the United States the current life expectancy of the homeless is 42 years old. In today's age of technology and medicine for this to be true requires a certain mindset of both the top and the bottom. But by all means keep telling yourself that it is their choice to die like this. It is your choice whether you want to except this harsh reality or live in blissful ignorance But the more we choose the latter the less life we shall have to live

The problem is what we value as a society. If society puts money at the top of the pyramid rather than virtue/religion/morality, then money is longer the means to the end, but the end itself. Therefore, people will do anything to accumulate as much of it as possible AND they will try to make it scarce for everyone else, so that they can have more, relatively, and therefore make themselves look more like a winner. In sports, you don’t just want to score goals, you want to score AND keep others from scoring. You CANNOT put money at the top of the higherarchy. You have to place something metaphysical there! It will make society good, wise and willing to share.

I've done multiple inner journeys in my life, as a child, teenager and now adult. I found that there are two purposes to discover, the inner and the outer. The inner purpose seems to always remain the same, which is to "wake up" or to expand conciousness. The outer purpose seems to always be in flux depending entirely on the life "situation". Over time, I came to realize that exploration is something that resonated with me on a deeper level. I see exploration as an approach, rather as an activity. But to find space to cultivate this mindset, I started hiking and immediately I started understanding my own life better. Hiking allowed me to identify my limitations and to go beyond them, whether it was physical or mental pain. Having to keep going eventually lead to a clarity of mind and a sense of being able to do anything. The experience allowed me to remove myself from the boxes I've built for myself overtime. By doing this, I eventually deepened my outer purpose of exploration as it was in tune with my inner purpose of waking up. To me, there are no goals to exploration. It's all about letting life unfold right infront of you while not being attached to the experience itself.

This is all true. As far as I’m concerned capitalism is slavery with a C. Everything has gone up , goods/services, etc yet our wages and salaries stay the same. Inflation is going to hit 8.5 % next month (April) … gas ⛽️ is $4.25/gallon in my area yet I’m only earning $14.81/hr … and I have a master degree and 8 + years of experience. I’m in debt 💸 and living paycheck to paycheck… yet I work on avg 45-50 hrs per week. It’s exhausting and I want out. I want my time back … we don’t have time for ourselves, our families/children, etc.

Sex and access to the female is the problem that never gets solved. The human female is hypergamous… never satisfied and always ready to hop to the next bigger, shinier and better thing. Males have to compete for the best females… meaning males have to constantly be on their improvement game else the likelihood of loss of females and sexual access is very possible. Males at the top get the best. Males compete viciously for the best. This theme reigns everywhere and in every spectrum of human endeavors from the smallest most minuscule to the societies and global. Resource, security, power and access.

It's as if you're walking around with a sign on your head that says "I have HIV/AIDS, STDs, and Covid-19". You're a ghost, a nobody. That's when I realized most women are fake (though I can't hate on them for trying to seek out a partner that would be able to support a family, something I don't want anyway, but...). when you work to buy food, and become reliant on that source, it's the same as the fishermen never teaching you to fish, someone controls one of the most vital resources for your survival, and if you dont sell your time and energy for money, you dont get food. Yet we have a system of permaculture where we almost essential restore nature and leave it alone, and it provides abundant resource, so we dont even really have to work to eat, but people are starving begging for money to buy wheat based artificial processed goods that hardly qualify as food anymore, is basically sugar and flour. Were addicted slaves, we are either to sick to fight it, or to addicted to notice it.

I've been a freelancer basically my entire life. I "work" for myself. But i'm getting to that point where I am sick of the financial instability. I never really know how much I'm going to make next month or if I'm going to make anything at all. I can't plan vacations because projects might come up, I can't plan longterm because there are so many variables. At this point I'd rather be a wage slave. At least I would have more financial stability which brings an incredible peace of mind. Nothing is more stressful than not knowing what you will make next month.

I realized this in the 1980s. I have been seeking all my life to escape this trap we call civilization. But the wealthy have spent so many hours trying to stop just that. I finally moved on a small lot in the country and work no more than I have to. I raise and dehydrate my own food. I still have bills to pay and I work a part time job to pay those bills. But it seems to get harder every year. I rarely get to take a vacation. And I spend as little as I can.

I agree. Joy in one's life is the ultimate goal of our souls. For me, I believe in a God who watches over me. I pray a lot and I hope for a better future. I do things that I enjoy. Not because it will make my finances any better, but because it brings me joy. It takes some getting use to, but as anyone would, I do the best that I know how to. I have almost paid for my lot to live on. When it's paid for, I want to invest in some land to build a fish farm on. I like to raise fish. And I like to play music. I play guitar and the violin. I don't play for money most of the time, I play for just the shear joy of playing. It was difficult to learn how, but after I learned enough, it brings me joy just to sit down and play. It is most important to find what you love to DO. This is what brings us joy in life.

I think it HAS become about survival. If I stop working, or decide to work only part time, I can no longer afford a place to live for my family. I Can no longer afford food or healthcare. I can’t just go and hunt my food anymore because I have to travel to go to a place to hunt and a car is required to transport that food back to my home. I can’t live out in the woods because there is no such thing as free land. It’s either government land or someone else’s land. So in order to buy land, I need to work. A lot. Because owning enough land to be able to grow and hunt my own food, it requires millions of dollars in the USA. My only chance is to work smart enough and hard enough to merely earn the possibility to live on my own terms.
