Given that the sequence starting at 1:51 is the same as that of the connection one could ask why the joseki is played at all?

@@chosgo9726 The connection rather than tigers mouth as you mentioned if black tenuki the follow up is the same as that played at 1:51 so it seems that black could also tenuki against the connection as well.
