i'm mostly a casual but i guess the guiding philosophy behind *how* i dress is that i kinda have issues with my physical appearance. not that i think i'm ugly, but that i feel my physical features don't quite *fit* me. so while i can't do much to control what my body looks like, what clothes i put on in the morning is an aspect of my appearance i can consciously control. and if i choose a flashy outfit, it does even more to distract from my face/body. people spend less time staring at my baby face and stringy body that i never chose, and are too busy staring at the shirt that looks like a bowling alley carpet fused with grandna's couch that i DID choose to put on

I wear penny loafers to school because they look nice.
