I see some comments from women that arent stylist and im asking as a hairstylist to be graceful because it is hardwork energetically and mentally. We already go into a service somewhat nervous especially if you are a new client because last thing we want to do is "f" up someones hair. I had a client yesterday that has naturally curly hair doesn't like to wear it curly always straightens it and wanted it cut above her shoulders and likes it pin straight but likes the shaggy look but not so shaggy. Okay sooo you want light layering but shaggs are super layered so you can understand the miscommunication is real

Really? I totally get it with heavy fake lashes & DEFINITELY on the fake lips, cheeks, work on face, etc., but extensions seem like they'd be relatively low maintenance just from what I've seen. People wash, brush & style as if it's their own hair. It just enhances, not changes to me.

My hair dresser blow-dries my hair (very straight, thin and baby fine, at sides especially, after covid, I have hardly any hair at my sides) in the downward fashion you demonstrated. I really do not like having her blow-dry it either because she also pulls on it a lot and I feel causes breakage. That has been my experience with all hair dressers, too, in the last 45+ years I've been blow-drying my hair. I only style with heat/blow-dry when going out for the day; when staying home, I let it air dry.

Thank you, Summer! I noticed your line of Moroccanoil products in the video background. Thanks to your recommendation in another video, I purchased products from this line, and they have been a game changer for me! My hair is shinier, has more volume, and holds a style longer. I honestly didn’t think a product could make this much difference. I’m still battling some frizz, and not sure which of their products to use for it, but the frizz is still so much better than before. My bob is very similar to yours, and I wear it sometimes straight and sometimes wavy/curly. I would LOVE to see a video on how to create waves in the bob without heat, since all of us girls with thin, fine hair have to be so careful about heat damage.

Siiiiiiiiiiiigghhh, so grateful for this! I lost a lot of hair after taking a med for a year and am peri-menopause so it grew back wavy. (After I tortured myself thinking it was damaged for 2 years before realizing my hormones have changed the texture.) I also take oral minoxidil. I have fine hair but quite a bit of it...and I have been having fun realizing I have some natural waves. BUT. I made a big mistake and went for a cheap walk in "trim" asking for layers because I thought it might help my waves a little while it continues to grow. EEKS. I left with basically layers above my ears in steps and alllll of the hair on the sides gone. My roots grow in 75% grey so that only adds to the illusion of being balder than I am. Anyway...I am now growing out these damn layers and have my eyes set on a Lob. I am really, really grateful to see this as a suggestion. It will help me stay on track during the arduous grow out process. Thanks for sharing....your explanations, real life examples of what to ask for, exmaples of well known humans, etc. Perfecto.

Years ago, i was at the hairdresser. After she cut my hair, i said : "i want vooooolume please", hoping for volume just like yours. She said : "ok" and started styling my hair with curls... Very ugly curls... I stopped her : "no, i don't want curls !". She replied : "you just said that you want volume ?" -"yes i want volume, but with straight hair !" She rolled her eyes without say anything and straightened my hair with her flat iron, without volume at the roots. All popstars had volume with straight hair, i wanted so bad the same thing... I thought a hairdresser could understand what i meant, i was so sad... I wondered if i asked too much, if that kind of hair was allowed just for pretty girls and not for me... I was so disapointed and sad... Sorry for my bad english

I have fine thin hair, so I decided to get a blunt cut thinking it would help my hair look thicker, only problem is, when my hair was cut to my shoulders, every time I was done fixing my hair it would always flip out from it laying on my shoulders. Now I know never to get my hair cut at that length. I Still have no idea what kind of hair cut is suited for my hair type and face shape to help me achieve a fuller look. I wish I could find a hairdresser that had this much knowledge and cared to help me bc my hair is the main reason I am self conscious about my whole look.

I had that problem too. I started to blow dry my ends with an inside bend and they stays inward for days. I can’t air dry because my hair will flip outward. Make sure you use a good heat protectant because your ends are fragile and stop blow drying when you feel heat on your hair. Hair will not feel hot until it’s dry and we don’t want to over dry. I was told to never use heat on my fine and thin hair (especially if I want it long and healthy) but good usage of heat isn’t as damaging as most people think.

I understand what you are saying, however in many ways the woman on the right looks much more attracive and her hair while thin hangs nice. The woman on the left looks as if she just had her hair blown out for an interview on her new movie. In real life w/o a hair stylist on set (been there) it doesn't last. Maybe it's just the hair coloring ...also the woman on the left has heavy highlights which will always make fine thin hair look thicker (just saying) Great advice on always considering your hair's +/- when telling a hair stylist to "cut lots of layers" tho if you have a good hair stylist...they may point out what you're saying. For instance one showed me how much fuller my hair looks when I use a blow dryer with a big round brush than an electric brush styler popular these days. Agree, 100% but I'm really not good with an old fashioned blow dryer. Thanks

Another good substitute for it would be Color Wows Dreamcoat. I don't find Dreamcoat to be quite as smoothing as Brazilian, but it's still a great lightweight product. Polish and Reunite can be used on dry hair as well to refresh and even in my stick straight fine hair I don't find it to be heavy at all! Little goes a long way!

I feel like the hairs in front can be shorter , but they shouldn’t be overly layered because that makes the ends look thin. I have curly fine thin hair, so it’s a bit different. I let my hair dry naturally. I need a shape to my haircut or else my face doesn’t look good, but I don’t like the ends to look like they are all different lengths because that makes the hair look thinner and frizzier. I like blunt layers I guess is the term. It’s hard to always have to explain this to stylists, which is why I’m trying to learn how to cut my own hair. Is there a hair cutting class I can take without cosmetology school? I’m serious.

I do have a question. I have a friend that has recently graduated hair school. I was even told the same thing 3 1/2 years ago that it’s illegal to use Velcro rollers in salons in the state of Florida?
@SummerBeautyc6 ай бұрын
I am not sure on this! I will say, I have never seen Velcro rollers used in salon on a client in Fl. I always just roll and pin to set like a velcro roller when in salon. Obviously using at home is fine 😊

NEVER use conditioner on the top of your hair!!! Just the BOTTOM of the sides & shaft. Nowhere else, even if thick, but ESPECIALLY if thin.

Stop using shampoo with sodium laurel sulphates, my hair is regrowing as is my husbands bald spot.

@BB-yw1ez4 ай бұрын
@@flaviapierceHello! I know you asked someone else, but I can answer you about what shampoo to use without sodium sulfates. The ones I use are: Hask Biotin Boost thickening shampoo, L’Oréal Ever Strong sulfate-free thickening shampoo, and CHI Argan oil with moringa oil blend shampoo sulfate and paraben free. All with their conditioners, too. Good luck! 💕

@@BB-yw1ez I will check those out. Thank you very much! 🤍

Okay but that much volume at the sides doesn't suit your face shape at all, which is a bit wider. It's just not flattering. Your focus should be more volume toward the top to draw the eyes upward, vertically, giving the illusion of length, narrowing the face. Also longer hair to enhance the effect. Volume for the sake of volume achieves nothing. It adds no visual weight.

This woman pretends to have thin hair. Her hair is def NOT fine and thin.

It is fine. It may not be as thin as others but I probably now have double the amount of hair I used to because of how I take care of it and cut it. I am not pretending anything. If you don't find the video helpful, I'm sorry.
