When I was in high school there were some German foreign exchange students and they told us that by their senior year, from exam results, schools determine if you go to a university or trade school. In Germany you are just as respected if you build or maintain jet engines than design them.

@@jakeslist569 My Dad was a machinist. He had a relatvely decent salary, not fair but ok. His company did not enforce health protections soon enough so died of lung cancer. Good worker protections are essential for tradespeople.

This is roughly true, and two related benefits are a) when you hire someone to repair the plumbing in your home or replace your roof, the work generally gets done really well, to high standards, and lasts a long time without issue, not some cheap hack job that looks terrible and falls apart in no time, and b) as others have mentioned, people in the trades get more respect, take more pride in their work, presumably earn a better and more livable wage, and can be maintained as and feel they are important members of and contributors to society. Our "fast and cheap" culture in the U.S. has priorities all wrong.

I became an electrician. Single man with no kids. In shape hit the gym everyday. I own my own business. I own a small home several vehicles boat and a motorcycle. Take several vacations a year including scuba diving all over the world as I'm a certified scuba diver. Have gone heli skiing in backcountry of Colorado with my best friend. Working on pilots license.Have traveled the world seen and done some amazing things and oh ya zero debt! Everything including my home is mine with deed and titles in my hand. Fellas I know your hurting lost and lonely but relize you don't need a degree to be successful, no woman on earth can make you happy and relize that everyone has problems, struggles and fears. Get off social media. Most people are lying sacks of shit there not actually that interesting and truthfully are miserable and depressed.

yup, after graduating from high school i had to get the ball rolling. Tough however, i grew up fatherless which explains why many of us young men seem weak and unwilling to take accountability My sister given me an opportunity to have a job, so i had my two weeks of summer vacay and right in the swing of it started working. Through a year i was saving a lot, hanging out with friends, progressing my experience in the job, took my drivers test and passed after my second try, ups and downs i experienced. My ultimate goal was to get a dirt bike until recently what i wanted and i saved enough. I use to post on instagram a lot of the memes and my life experiences back in late middle school all through high school. I very rarely post now, as i got through the whole media currency of likes which is very damaging to our egos. i have became very lazy on posting, but in life keeping occupied and really only use social media for looking at memes, watching some videos on yt, and chatting and keeping in touch with friends. im proud of the progression i did over a year ago great lessons and moments to be enjoyed.

College is crazy expensive for a job that is not guarenteed... there's a reason all these kids that come out of college live with their parents. They don't get the job and are drowning in debt. It's not worth the risk. Next add in that all it takes is an accusation to ruin your entire life even if you're found innocent... it's too late, you are labeled. Same bs with marriage. It is too dangerous to gamble with someones emotions. One bad day and you lose everything you worked for just because the court system favors women. It's all rigged against men, and what do men do when they find a problem, they fix it. If that problem can't be fixed, it's broken, and we throw it out. Not that I disagree with Mr. Galloway, I think he makes many good points. That said, the fact that he can go into solutions and not put "fatherhood" at the top of the list as a solution is just mind boggling. It's so hard to understand why so many people don't want to acknowledge the fundamental importance of good fathers in the lives of young men. Resources need to be allocated towards this as much as anything else. All it would take is one generation to begin to see a real turnaround. Definitely let's approach this in a multi-faceted manner, but let's at least make fatherhood one of the critical components of what young men need in their lives. We are so afraid of shaming people today that we are leading entire generations of young men off the cliff.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Having lived in the US and East Africa for long periods, and having compared both cultures, I dare say that family and community are very important, too. My parents required me to treat my older brother with deference and respect and I hated it, but I did it. I remember the changes in my male relatives after they were initiated into manhood; it imbued them with incredible self esteem and confidence and no woman ever dared start a sentence with the noxious words, “a real man would…” as if a woman can every tell a man what a ‘real man’ entails. My mother had verbal salvos for me every time I repeated what I’d heard from feminists - that men are beasts - by telling me firstly that I was half a beast and secondly she’d wonder why I took such trouble to beautify myself in order to be attractive if men were so horrible. When my dad came home, I was required to greet him joyfully and give him time to settle before asking for anything. She said he wasn’t a walking wallet and she didn’t want me to make him feel like one. The most enduring lesson though was to approach men in good faith - to smile and to be sensible and to avoid unnecessary arguments. While these lessons make it difficult for me to have many girlfriends - I cannot handle the snippy rude comments they direct at men they deem beneath them, nor can I handle the magnitude of their lies [this is your baby], nor do I want to spend my time with them looking at social media - they helped me attract a wonderful man who calls me multiple times a day just to chat because I make sure I am pleasant to talk to. Though I have no evidence, I think that no amount of accolades can make up for what women’s larger role in society is - to complement men, not to compete with them. They way I see some western women treat men makes me despair: their husbands daren’t speak their minds lest they’re labeled toxic; their sons are hobbled with insecurities because mamas interfered when their husbands tried to rough house with their sons as part of their development through free play and their daughters are insufferably rude because they were told they were perfect and are now impervious to any negative feedback. Their is an African proverb that says that a child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth. Accolades and achievements cannot provide that warmth; only the community can.

I have taught junior high for 20 years. Without having any details about a student’s family I can tell on day one which of my male students don’t have fathers in their lives. They simply carry themselves differently then the other young men who have great fathers present. It is heartbreaking to see them having to carry the burden of an absentee father.

When it comes to males in general, nobody talks about this foundational reason they gave up on work: the fact that the vast majority of man get NO attention or affection from females. They have no hope of getting married because women don't want them, and family seems an abstract notion to young males 15-35. They have no idea how to be male or full grown man. Looking from abroad, I think College in the USA has become just another product, where the brand matters more than what's in the box. A very expensive product indeed. And while in the past it helped to improved your social and economic status, now has become a walled garden for the rich. It even burdens you with a huge debt. I was raised to be a "shop rat", which is someone with a good paying union job in an automobile factory. Those opportunities disappeared by the time I graduated high school in 1978. I floundered with no plan or direction for years. I was lucky enough to get a decent paying job, bought a house and got married, but still was not focused on developing myself, or planning for life. I wound up unemployed due to the business where I worked being sold, but got another job that was more work for less pay, but felt that at least I was working. I finally went back to school and got some education that more than doubled my income. Life's been OK since, however, when I look at my classmates who had direction and drive, I realize how much better off I could be now if I had been focused on career and actually planned for the future like they did. I do feel for young men today who don't have some of the opportunities that folks my age had.

I disagree with the getting onto education and training. It is more than fine to wait until you are 30 if you think your 20s are just not the time for it. What you don't want to do is leave high school, pick a subject that you have no idea where it will lead and then pull out after the first year. You are better off waiting until you are more mature and have a decent idea of what you will get out of your education and what to expect from you future employment. But if you are a good study, sure go to university straight out of school, it's a great headstart if it works. But the average 20-24 year old male isn't exactly made for sitting around studying.

Honestly I disagree. It’s much harder to find time to fit college in your life later in age. Especially if your already working and paying a mortgage and other bills. On top of it the price of college is not worth the value it actually gives you anymore. If I could get a full degree for the same price I got my commercial drivers license($5000) I would 100% sign up tomorrow. But I’m gunna make way more as a truck driver right now than your typical college graduate paying 5 figures for their credentials in liberal arts.

@@weignerleigner3037 - I am not buying the college value proposition argument. It is still true that a college education will earn you a median $900K more over a lifetime. Many professions require at least a bachelors degree. Certainly it isn't black and white and some degrees have more value than others. There is nothing wrong with not going to college. It isn't the right choice for everybody for a number of reasons. There is a wide selection of high earning professions that do require a skillset but don't require a college degree. At a societal level, god knows we need people of all skillsets, our country depends on it. However, to broadly assert that the value of a college education isn't worth the expense is simply inaccurate and I find is often used as an excuse. I should add that while college is expensive, the costs can be mitigated. My oldest daughter is in college right now, working on two degrees. She is at a state university where the annual cost is estimated to be $22K to $25K per year. Her actual cost is far less because more than half of that is housing related and she doesn't live on campus. Her tuition/books/fees is about $10K per year. She has been paying off as much as she can along the way. Her total expense will be roughly $40K, less than today's average price of a new car, and she'll have about half of it paid off by the time she graduates. Over the last 10 years my wife has earned a second degree and a masters degree, her employer paid for roughly half of it. My youngest daughter is considering going to community college for her first two years to minimize expenses and get her basics out of the way before transferring to complete her degree. If you want a post-secondary education, you can make it work.

@@johnmininger7472 your absolutely right. I shouldn’t have have been so general in my comment. Some degrees are certainly highly valuable. If you become a doctor or lawyer or almost anything in stem fields you will greatly increase your chances of making a lot of money. But it’s important to understand the markets and industries in which you are going to be working in. There are unfortunately so many cases of people spending incredible amounts of money for degrees that will only earn them $40-$60,000 a year. Or will get a degree but not even work or get a job in what they went to school for. Like you said it isn’t black and white. If the cost came down which I think it will in the coming years I would probably try and get a degree. But for a lot of people out here including myself we are priced out of educational opportunities.

Trade school is not that good either. I graduated in 2008 as a mechanic. Do you know how many jobless mechanics were out there and many hated their jobs. Our part store guy used to be a mechanic and he was glad he wasn't anymore. Trade jobs are crap too. The worst is being a mechanic imo. Electrician or HVAC probably the best if you have your own business. I worked as a temporary mechanic in a landscape company and the guy said what he's doing has nothing to do with the trade he studied. The studen loan and cost of education is the problem here. Life doesn't go as planned and yet they want kids to pay for education and pay that off even if they found a different way to pay the bills. In Australia you only pay fraction of your income for student loan IF you found a decent job and make above a certain amount. Here doesn't matter how much you make. Your ass better get ready to pay off the loan with high interest rate.

My parents gaslit me into thinking college was the only way to have a good life. My actual interests were pushed away, and I believed if I just made it to college everything would go my way. But it didn’t, and as soon as I got there I had a mental breakdown because I realized I was only living my life for my parent’s desires and hated what I was doing. It wasn’t entirely their fault, they grew up in a world were a summer job could pay for a year of college, now it’s a family investment that if you fail you’re out tens of thousands of dollars. Living under that stress for something I didn’t choose broke me, and I haven’t recovered since.

I wouldn't be too hard on your folks. Here's a little humanizing perspective that might be a bit enlightening. Back in the day until maybe the 90s, maybe even the 00s until the great recession, literally everybody believed that college was the greatest pathway to success. To some extent way back when, a legitimate argument could be made for that because universities weren't basically handing them out like candy. They had high academic standards, you got a well-rounded liberal arts education, and you were actually taught how to do stuff. A lot of people who did go to college did actually become very successful, so it's not like the idea was baseless that college equals success, however, it wasn't as simple as that. Now that every other person goes to college, now that emtry standards have dropped and ceased to be meritocracy in a lot of ways, now that they bloated the administrations and amenities and jacked up prices because of the free momey machine to the universities that is the federal student loans system, that's become less and less so. Your parents almost certainly weren't trying to gaslight you. Gaslighting requires intention. They shouldn't have tried to assert such a stranglehold on your life and force you to go down a particular predetermined path they chose for you (that's a whole other issue), but it almost certainly game from a place of good intentions. They just drew their assumptions due to incomplete information and likely assuming things are more or less still the way they were when they went to college because they're normies who don't actively pay attention to cultural shifts and trends. You don't have to forget, but you should at least try to understand and forgive. The interesting thing about being a young adult is that you start to understand your parents as actual human beings, good side and bad alike. Assuming your parents weren't willfully terrible ti you (in spite of varying degrees of negligence dusplayed by a lot of parents, they do generally care for the wellbeing of their kids, want what's best for them, and don't actively try to harm them), hopefully that leads you to greater empathy and grace for their honest mistakes.

@@Tyler_W Most of what you said is true, heck, it's true that for the "Upper Middle Class" esp if you are a member of a protected class or sex , then yes, College still can do something for you. In fact, so many states and Government positions are closed off to those without (usually) a 4 year college degree. This is partly because of greed: keeping certain professions closed to all but those who can afford a 4 year degree helps keep salaries up and supply sufficiently low. But it's also based on something most people don't know. You see, back in the 1950's and through at least part of the 60's (I'm not sure of the exact date, just the timeframe in general cuz its been years since I read about this) IQ tests were often used as part of the hiring process. Well, IQ test were outlawed by, I believe one of the Civil Rights acts (or maybe it was a court case somewhere, like I said its been years), and so a college degree started to be used as a proxy. Remember this was the timeframe of the mass expansion of college attendence due to the GI bill and the great size of the "Boomer" generation. Suddenly, college graduates became far more common.And yes, this was well before they started handing out degrees like candy via easier courses and grade inflation, so a college education meant something.

I am 56 and I have been working in my field for over 30 years. When I was in undergrad college I wanted to see what I was good at so I just picked an area I was interested in that could lead to a job. I was interested in health care so I majored in biology. What I found out was I was not spectacular in any one area but I was above average in almost everything. I took that with me and went to medical school and became a general practitioner. My job requires me to be good in everything but not spectacular in any one area because the field of medicine is so broad I can’t know it all. So being good in all areas made me excellent in primary care medicine. Young men just need to find a nich they like that also had good job prospects and dive in and focus on that area and you will succeed. You will have to make sacrifices but it’s worth it be a valuable member of society in your area of focus.

I agree with the "not chasing your passion" sentiment for sure, but for a different reason: No one really knows what they want. We think we do, but 'wants' are nebulous and change over time. So, if you try to plan your life based on your _wants_ rather than what you can realistically assess to be your strengths, the likelihood of sputtering are much higher. And I don't think that's necessarily anyone's "fault," it is just a side-effect of a free and open society.

Trades are so underrated. When my bf was looking at careers back in the 1990s he looked in the newspaper( how you did it back then) and focused on jobs that were plentiful and noticed machinists had a lot of listings so he got a certificate and has been doing it ever since. Fast forward to now and he’s pulling six figures, owns his home outright, no mortgage, has multiple trucks and toys, no loans. Everything paid, retirement set! So much smarter than floundering in college, getting a useless degree for $$$ just to say you did. I’m aware not all degrees are useless. They are necessary for some but not EVERYONE. There is this mentality that if you don’t have at least a 4 yr degree you’re defective but that’s not true and I want this mentality to stop. I have witnessed women dismissing guys with no college degree and that is so stupid.

I spent 39 years in my trade. I retired at 55. I never went to college. Each year the company would bring 4 or 5 college men into the plant. Before they would actually be hired they were required to spend 4 weeks in each department. I was the last step in that process. At the end the president would always come and ask me 1 question. It was always the same. Is he going to make it here? 7 out of 10 my answer would be no. Those men where never hired. Hiring someone and then having to fire that person costs alot of money. I was close with the head of HR. One time she told me that 65% of all applicants failed there drug test. Our company had random drug testing for all employees. I didn't matter what position you held. I was shocked at that number.

Part of the reason I retired early was because of the number of young people wanting a job but simply didn't want to work. I can't tell you how many I fired. Between cell phones and not showing up for work was the biggest reasons. Work never seemed to be a priority. Asking them to work overtime was out of the question. I was done babysitting.

But what is causing MGTOW? There has always been bachelor men throughout history although it was always a small amount. What should worry and delight us all is that MGTOW has grown to be MASSIVE, and will only grow further as a response from men who have nothing left to lose. Young men *are* in trouble today. One reason not discussed is how most of them are biologically wired. Most male instincts, what they typically focus on, what triggers them, what they really want... doesn't mesh well with modern society. And by "what they really want", I mean for example why are so many of them playing golf together (4-some almost always all men), or standing in a creek fishing for 6 hours by themselves, hunting game (most don't bring the wife along), gaming too much, poker playing, gambling, sports on TV... those sorts of things. They are wired for "get away" activities, and my point is that the biological forces behind that is something that our modern society is not interested or unable to harness.

Forget patriarchy, we live in a female oriented society, and have been for a few decades now. It starts from the early school experience. The vast majority of teachers are women. The curriculum is based on rote learning and verbal exposition, where everyone goes at the same rate. Girls naturally do better with this stuff.( Boys do better by experiencing things, visual learning, going at thier own rate. questioning things). So boys, who don't take to this learning naturally, are put on a disciplinary path, drugged up on Ritalin etc. Then there is the fact that boys also take longer to mature than the girls they are competing against directly. AND they are distracted by these same girls. Its a perfect storm of an anti male environment. Then when they leave high school, girls have more financial solutions. More likely to be supported by parents. Much more likely to get office work which doesn't leave them physically tired, or jobs like modeling which have little effort to huge reward ratio. Much more likely to get a financially supportive partner (coff coff sugar daddy). Then there's the somewhat combined world between modeling and relationships: the skin trade(stripping, camming, escorting. MILLIONS of young women participate in that world). Meanwhile men have the army and sports ( huge risk little reward, huge risk and lottery odds of huge reward) and manual labour. These same men are forced to pay for dates, have bachelor pads, cars etc just have a little female companionship. Men do much better in advanced degree programs, because that's when their brains have finally matured. And they do it at their own pace. And by experiencing. Then they do progressively better, much better, than women over the ensuing years of their careers. Whereas a very large fraction of women simply quit when they realize they have no true interest or native capability in their field...this after taking up those seats that could have gone to men. They tend to do this especially after snagging a higher earning man, ironically while preventing other men from becoming high earning. This is due to biology, as much as women like to claim otherwise. But good luck to men reaching that level due to lower GPAs from high school and college, and having to hustle for school fees, all the time facing condemnation for being male, while girls get to free coding camp, gender specific scholarships, women's studies and get validation all day everyday. How did things get this way, which will get to Japanese and Chinese crisis proportions and beyond( because we ain't as docile as them)? Its because the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Women are squeaky creatures as opposed to more stoic men. Men are inclined to make women more comfortable. Throughout history and prehistory men were ALLOWED to take the reigns, because the benefits of doing so were immediate and obvious. Men tamed nature, got the meat and protected women from rape by foreign invaders. Since industrialization there has been an obfuscation of these benefits, as they have become so indirect, even tho they are no less true. So women have been clamoring to take the reigns since. But the reigns to where? You mention bullying in high school. Male bullying is based on physical domination, with the aim of female attention. Female bullying is based on social hierarchies and social domination, for thier own comfortability and enjoyment. High school is a training ground for them in govt and political issues, with the aim of bending all of society to their every whim and fancy.

We both went to "Land Grant" colleges back in the 1960's when both of us making a dollar an hour was enough to get by and have a little car and a small aparatment as well. Today; college and/or university education is something that is and would be out of our financial reach. Like Professor Galloway says; we've lost the script on advanced education. Furthermore; the overall worth of a degree from an expensive name school is significantly attenuated subsequent to five years in the career marketplace --- nobody cares that you graduated from Harvard when you're thirty-six years old and your Ivy league experience is more than a decade away and your experience looks like a worn-out school tie. Our suggestion to the grandkids: get a job where they will pay for your advanced education -- it just is NOT WORTH spending your parents' money.

In my day we got BOTH. When I was in junior high at my school we had half a year where we learned shop, woodworking, metalworking, electricity, then in the second half we learned how to sew, how to cook, how to paint and do art. In Canada university used to be free to virtually everybody. Most of my peers who are blue collar all have degrees in something or other. Education is like travel, its its own reward and impossible to put into words. In the US htey don't WANT you educated, in Canada its now the same. PS, trades are no longer the path to economic success, welders are a dime a dozen here and most work low pay processing jobs because there is nothing else. The fact is NOTHING guarantees much about financial success, its become a crapshoot. In IT there are jobs that we never even dreamt of. This is NOT unique to men, this is the whole population. I agree trying to find something you are reasonably good at is good advice. You don't want to waste too much time chasing impossible dreams that don't pay. Obviously if you have a lot of talent at something it may be worth giving it a go. University intake in American universities might be 60% female, but what are they studying? Is it useful? If you get a degree in, say, philosophy how exactly does it help? Often getting a degree only allows you to get recruited by a company that has a graduate program and only then do you start learning something useful. I get the impression women want to do office work or brain work. Manual jobs that women do are usually poorly paid. A female school leaver may imagine herself as a lawyer. She probably does not imagine herself as a roofer.

The problem in america is high schools are mostly day care centers that are slowly being dumbed down. Everyone should be able to leave highschool reading/writing at grade 12 level. Most schools in the US cant even achieve that. This leaves college with the job of educating kids that wasted their early years. Asians do well because their parents are invested in ensuring their kids truly learn. Without inherited wealth they know this is the only way into the middle class and beyond.

Universities have been expanding as fast as they can, as it's part of the capitalist move to maximize income. American universities are notorious for having lax entry standards and letting underqualified students flounder and borrow money for however long it takes for them to realize they weren't cut out for university. Other countries I have lived in have all weeded out the wheat from the schaff beforehand, but America's "give everyone a chance" model means big profits. Young men are even worse off now than they were when this come out nearly a year ago. Mr. Galloway mentions some viable reasons, but oddly avoids the MAIN ones. 1. LACK OF A FATHER IN THE HOME - Girls are born with inherent value and purpose. Boys are not. They have to find their own. A father teaches a young man to discipline his impulses and find his purpose. A father teaches a son what RESPECT is. A father shields his children from fear. A child growing up with fear will inevitably learn to hate. Mr. Galloway decries child poverty but apparently doesn't notice that the vast majority of children living in poverty live in one parent homes. Giving these homes more money simply enables their mother's lifestyle further. 2. FEMMINISM - Men are more than the enemy. Worse than that. They are just unnecessary. A traditional purpose for a man is to create a family and then build a temple for that family to live in. Now young girls are taught that they don't need men. Men have gotten the message. This helps leave men directionless and adrift, which can lead to hopelessness and despair. 3. LOSS OF GOD - Men need something to believe in. They need meaning. With no father, no wife, and no God to turn to, you still wonder why young men are in trouble?

I think a lot of men just dont care. They had their day in the sun as kids and teens - no responsibilities, gaming, friends, long days after school, hobbies, novelty, adulthood is a hard sell. What do we get in adulthood? A fucking job that takes up the majority of our free time, saps us of energy, a house that wont get paid off for 10 - 20 yrs, a marriage that goes kinda stale (if you're lucky) and many end in divorce, kids which most men arent that elated about to be honest. A lot of friendships in adulthood are hollow and pretentious anyway, and you count yourself blessed for having 2 good friends. Then comes age, loss of youth and a numbness to life for many. I dont speak for all men but I do think many men can relate. Life takes a course where a lot of men are just not that interested in. Boredom I think sums it up.

Partially physically disabled and graduated from a town in the boonies. But I am white. Finding scholarships was neigh impossible and I owe 100k for an engineering degree from a fantastic college. I loved what Scott said near the end. “Pursue something you’re good at” and his comment about exploring apprenticeships/trades. It breaks my heart seeing people “following their dreams” and preferring a BA instead of going to college. (As society says that’s where people aren’t smart enough go.) I talk to hundreds of business owners all the time and there is such a vacuum in trades where basically anybody interested and willing can start their career with a great wage… Not so for a Medieval History degree. (Although that is a fascinating field as well, just not as practical.)

I see alot of people talking about the trades. I just want to throw out that I'm currently 27, I went to a trade school and got an associates in automotive repair. I was super passionate about cars, and was looking forward to a career as a technician, but after 3 years I discovered I didn't really want to do it anymore. Sacrificing my body to fix peoples cars seems like a waste, the pay isn't great, especially compared to other trades like plumbers electricians and welders, and I felt like I could genuinely provide more service than that. The trades are okay for alot of people, but I'm getting a bit irritated at how many people are pushing the trades these days (Especially from motherfuckers who haven't worked in the trades..) I understand why, I really do, but the bottom line is the trades aren't really satisfying work for everyone, it destroys your body, and is often considerably more dangerous than other jobs. Its noble to fix things, and its needed, but at the same time I think it's completely understandable when people don't want to do it. Why on Earth would I take on that much risk for 54k a year when I could get another type of job? I think alot of the salaries that get boasted around the trades are often people who have multiple decades in the field, and are often unionized. Additionally, I really need something creative. I genuinely believe if I just stuck it out with automotive, or just stayed at another blue collar job, I would end up killing myself, and I really do not mean that lightly. The Japanese, as usual, got it right: Ikigai is the intersection of what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. I think checking those 4 boxes is the key to not only a satisfactory career, but a life worth living. I think just choosing something you're good at, is falling way short of your potential happiness. Like, what if I'm really good at being a cashier at Walmart? What if I'm really good at something that makes me depressed? I don't think you will just magically find satisfaction in something you're good at. However, there is a said satisfaction that comes with being good at something, and it can be almost anything really. Learning a practical skill is really important. For what its worth im going to school for multimedia design, alot of demand for it with the web, and this youtube channel is also something I want to grow. either way, I'm going to school for free thanks to financial aid and scholarships. My hopes are to break into entrepreneurship and honestly, follow the things I really want to do. I might go broke or die trying, but I kind of don't care. I've had 7 or so different jobs, and I can't say any of them brought me a whole lot except experience. The experience is really important and I'm very prideful about all I've done. I've been a dishwasher, cook, fork lift operator, valet, and a mechanic at a dealership and two independents. I've picked up a ton of skills, both hard and soft. Frankly just being good at something isn't super meaningful without a few other elements in my opinion. I do agree men are in a crisis for the most part. As a 27 year old, I think I can say I have looked at myself as an evil white man many times. I come from a decently privileged family as an only child, but I haven't fucking oppressed anybody.. Either way, Im 27, still live in mommys basement, and hate that. All I do is try to make money and learn. I'm very frustrated to say the least. I feel a very weird mix of being trapped, but also setting myself up for success by going to college and killing it. I'm just very weary of the job market (I pretty much assume I won't be getting a job at all, and sometimes I feel like freelancing or entrepreneurship would have a higher likelihood of making a living. anyways, there's alot more I can spill. Generally, I don't think I disagree with anything this guy says. I think its much easier to dole out the advice of "just do something you're good at" than living it. Maybe I'm also a bit narcissistic to insist I can do better than just getting a job Im good at and being "happy"

I'm a High school teacher and I began to notice and pay attention to this trend about 5 or 6 years ago. I realized the valedictorians were usually always girls, the top kids in the class were/are usually girls, the club leaders and presidents were girls. It is definitely noticeable in schools. My school has tried to implement some programs to help freshmen boys, but the quality of these classes depends on the quality of the teacher. This should be tackled nation-wide and early on. High school is a bit late, but better than nothing.

The schools are a big reason for the today's problems. They solely pushed feminism ideas, focused on females for decades, then on lgbt and foreigners and recently on gender bs at a young age. All this time neglecting the male who sits back and sees women get child custody, dad's become money slaves to the ex, companies hiring skews to females, universities skew to female and top it off female hypergamy so 50% of the males are screwed and with wage equality, they cannot make more than so no wife and no kids in their future, easier to live on some gov aid and go fishing and play games 1/2 the day. Majority of teachers are female and I am willing to bet their bias is being pushed even if subconsciously. FBI data shows single mom are the worst for raising children but glad at least you realize something is up and trying to do something though I wonder if the teachers understand the root causes.
