Young ACT seems to be the overall most competent party. Felix seems to be very competent and knowledgeable on the matters he discusses. Its a great look. The other parties either don't know the full extent of what they debate on or simply just say what sounds pleasant without taking into account economic repercussions. I disagree personally with the drug policy, I think legalizing all drugs is ridiculous but from a neutral perspective, Young ACT seems to know what they want and have a great approach to issues when asked about. Definitely my pick of the youth parties!

It was severe cringe to see them parade with the Gadsden flag - the one with the rattlesnake - and only cemented my view that Act Party members are wannabe Americans who should probably move there, instead of trying to remake New Zealand to be like them.

I think the drug policy is short sighted, but I liked the two individuals involved, on their own merits. Elliot has some growing up to do, but I think his comments on sexual misconduct in all youth parties is a correct one. Ali has a strong head on her shoulders and will go far.

Felix appeared to display a breathtaking lack of insight and thought that will hopefully change with experience. It was amusing to watch claims of being like other youth wings from other parties that regurgitate the party line and see that play out, especially with shocking levels of sexual harassment and toxicity that you might see in the darkest days of any mainstream party
