I drove my used 4Runner from Atlantic Canada to Honduras and back again. Then retired the SUV when it hit about 380,000 and sold it for what I bought it for. I’d never look at Nissan after the proven track record and superior resale value of the Toyotas. Im still daily driving my 2003 v6 xterra. has nearly 230k miles, i have a few problems out of it but, I just cant handle the road noise, very low HP/TQ, and the abysmal 10 mpg, it was only averaging 14 mpg when i got it, but i don't even get 200 miles out of a tank. Im in the market and have decided to go with a truck, there's just not a lot of options when it comes to body on frame off-roading SUVs anymore. The Toyota line is way too expensive for me, so that leaves the bronco which i do like and am finding them discounted well below a Toyota. What draws me towards a truck is the offroad capability while still maintaining a decent mpg. The frontier is nice but not great mpg, i do like the Ranger because I've seen over 27 mpg out of the v6, but with the 16k discounts I'm seeing on the f150, that would bring the price down nearly around the ranger level, which is a better value.
