Colby Covington (born February 22, 1988) is an American mixed martial artist. He is a former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion. As of December 14, 2019, he is #2 in the UFC welterweight rankings. Covington returned to face Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC on ESPN 5 on August 3, 2019. He won the fight via a lopsided unanimous decision, setting a record for the most strikes thrown in a UFC bout with 541 strikes.
Covington faced Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight Championship on December 14, 2019 at UFC 245. He lost the fight via fifth round technical knockout. This fight earned him his first post fight bonus in the UFC for Fight of the Night .
Kamaru Usman (born May 11, 1987) is a Nigerian American mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is the current UFC Welterweight Champion. Usman is also The Ultimate Fighter 21 tournament winner. As of January 27, 2020, he is #7 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings.

Go back an look at any interview he did before he fought RDA in Brazil. He talks softly and compliments anyone he's asked about. In reality he's actually a real good dude. He does a ton of things for different charities. Someone who's a piece a shit wouldn't volunteer his time for people less fortunate than him, or donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to them as well. The fact that so many people have fallen for his act surprised me. Just look at press conference and interviews like you would watching the WWE. It's the same thing to keep people interested except when they fight it's actually real.

It's because Colby only started doing this shit because they were gonna cut him even though he was winning. This isn't who he really is, but no one cared about his fights until he started saying this stuff, now he's in title fights and all over the media. People really don't understand that he's just doing this to make money because he was going to be straight up fired even though he was on a win streak. He's got bills to pay and people to provide for so he says dumb shit and people lose their minds. He's not that good at it but then again people are easy to rile up so it doesn't matter.

EDIT: I wrote this before Gaethje won so we probably won't ever get to see this fight. But now I want to see this video more than ever because it's amazing how cursed this matchup was and all the things that caused it to be cancelled.
