@PANTIME The DRC says Mongolia is a part of China though. It's a weird political loop. If they give up their claim on Mongolia, it means they give up their claim on mainland China. I forget why, but it's leading to an awkward situation with Mongolia. I think the DRC also claims some place in Kyrgyztan.

@daseapickleofjustice7231
@daseapickleofjustice7231 3 жыл бұрын
@@abhishekacharjee9931 alright what is communism? It's a stateless, classless, moneyless society where capital is collectively owned. It's the end goal of socialism which can only be reached on e there is enough resources for everyones needs. Socialism is workers ownership of the means of production. In China they have neither. Either they have state companies that exploit them or normal imperialist companies from the US and Europe that exploit them. Just because a country calls it something doesn't mean they are something. That's not hard to understand so the reason Americans think they are communists is just because they don't know the definition of communism and even if they called them socialist they wouldn't be right either. The only good thing with China is that it challenges US imperialism through Chinese imperialism.

That would not really change anything, and might add more complications. According to both, there is only one China; the argument is who rules it. Recognizing both means believing there are two Chinas, which neither Beijing nor Taipei would accept (especially now; China is economically brutal to those who hint at accepting Taiwan). Full diplomatic relations with one would have to include reduced relations with the other. As for not recognizing their territorial claim to the third largest territory on the planet, this literally cannot happen. If they don’t own it, who does? Any answer other than “China” would anger and confuse 1/6th of the world’s population and run the risk of reviving the anti-colonialism akin to the last days of the empire. And that, no one needs nowadays.

@@C.V317 Under the DPP, the Taiwanese govt hasn't signed up to that one China principle. And I'd assume he means parts that aren't controlled by the PRC or ROC. Although I'm kind of used to the feelings of the Chinese people being hurt. It seems to happen every other day.
@C.V317
@C.V317 3 жыл бұрын
@@bobs_toys technically, Taiwan hasn’t accepted it because the two political blocs argue over Chinese nationalism (which recognizes Taipei as the capital of all China) and Taiwanese nationalism (which recognizes Taiwan as independent from China altogether). Another more serious block to Winter Nova’s plan (and one a lot of people forget) is what not recognizing the PRC means for Tibet. Since it was taken specifically by the PRC, does recognizing the ROC also mean recognizing the old Tibetan government? I’m not sure I agree with your interpretation of what he was saying, since a lot of countries already argue about who owns the territories you mentioned; it wouldn’t really change anything. But all of these competing claims explains China’s attitude towards changes in opinion on the matter. Hence why they’re always upset.

@@lakeblackBLM China isn't even proper communism. True communism existed in Soviet Union and now in North Korea. Especially North Korea in modern day . They are just putting garb of Communism to be authoritative and enforce quick development and industrialization. The reason is democracy is somewhat slow in development especially in a huge country with 1.4 billion population. What they follow is state capitalism. A communist country would be opposed to anything foreign in their country . Right now there is a freaking Disneyland in Shanghai and Universal Studios is upcoming in Beijing. A lot of international and American entertainment chains are in China's major cities. Also China is 4th most visited country apparently. You think a hardcore communist country like for example North Korea will allow such stuff ??? China's Communism isn't even communism . It's just a name. Lol . They don't even follow some of the basics of Communism.

As a Taiwanese(ROC), I'm glad to see all the discussions here. The thing is, common Taiwanese(those who weren't fled to Taiwan after the civil war) no longer seek to be recognized as the legitimate government of China at all. But the situation is a bit complicated than that. The legitimate territory was written in our constitution. And whenever people talk about fixing the constitution, or changing the name of the country to Taiwan, Chinese government will threaten to invade Taiwan on such moves. It's almost like China forces Taiwan to continue this fight with it, so that with even the slightest step wrong, it can send an army to take over Taiwan since it's still an unsolved war. If they do take over Taiwan, then they can slowly dismantle Taiwan's society and economy until we are no longer a trouble to Bejing, just like what they are doing right now with Hong Kong and the Uyghurs. It's a bit sad to be living in this constant fright, but what can you do? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To get a lot more out of the video, I suggest watching it 4 additional times, each time focusing on only one region of the world: Europe, Africa, Asia & Oceania, Americas. As someone who favors recognition of the ROC (or both), I found myself going, "OOOhhh" a lot throughout the video as countries progressively turned red. I recall being disappointed a few years back when I found out that Panama (where most of my relatives live) switched. I didn't realize that my home country of the US held out longer than many of its "Western" peers, though it's really not too surprising considering that the most sacred American value is capitalism.

China is one country at this point in history, it is called the People's Republic of China even though it is not of the people and it is not a republic but a police state. The formerly called ROC or Taiwan is what will be the name of the island next to China. Taiwanese people hate being called Chinese in Taiwan, they are proud to be Taiwanese and so are the indigenous people there. Tsai Ing Wen should not worry about not being the rightful China but rather how Taiwan can be recognized internationally.

It's very important to remember that most of the world recognised the Taiwanese government as the Chinese government that was victorious during the Second World War. It's just that cheap goods put onto the international market in the 1970's influenced world governments to switching Taiwan from the Chinese Mainland.
