The Red Arrows Arrive in Blackpool For Southport Airshow

From a photographer’s perspective, the Southport Airshow is infinitely better than the Blackpool Airshow. In Southport the sun is behind you for perfect lighting of the aircraft. In Blackpool you are looking directly into the sun. Southport for the Win! 😂😂 Shame I’m in Whitby all week 😭😭😭

Don't you have to pay at Southport whereas Blackpool is free? And I've read earlier that the RA's cancelled Southport today. Also Blackpool is a better resort than Southport. So there! But Whitby is great!!

I’m a bit lucky ….I get to see the Red Arrows almost every day …I live close to their base and they practice in the sky above us ..they only use white smoke to practice…but occasionally they salute us locals with a red heart !!

I think visibility is like that all over at the moment. It's been like that here as well 😮 I li I LOVe to see the Red Arrows, it always reminds me of being a little kid & my dad taking me & my mam to the airshows ❤

I heard them while I was on Hornby road but did not realise it was them lol Going home today after a great week in Blackpool, got rushed into Blackpool hospital weds night with chest pains , my hearts plumbing is ok but turns out the wiring is dodgy so it was beating very fast and erratically , turns out Blackpool has one of the best cardiac centres in the uk , they gave me an injection that stopped my heart for a second and it started beating again normally so I got out Thursday evening fit as a fiddle with tablets to stop it happening again . I am absolutely indebted to the cardiologists and Nurses at Blackpool hospital. and certain I would not have received as good a treatment at my local hospital and to Toni and James at Howarth’s bingo for keeping my mrs calm and reassuring her as I didn’t want her being at the hospital because of her health conditions . At least I got to see the Red arrows via your channel .

We was on the ferry half way over the Mersey when the arrows flew over toward your path there ,the captain blew the horn wild ,then the reds screamed overhead .Pretty surreal ,shame the Mrs missed it as she was getting the beers in 😅

I stay in Prestwick right beside the airport, amazing when big planes or jets come in to land for fuel or air shows, also used to love going to pontins when I was younger

It's a grand sight. They are so well coordinated, even down to leaving the runway. It must take some detailed planning. They must even plan for things going wrong, like one of the Aeroplanes suffering a loss of power. Thanks for another fine video!

Those dunes certainly do give panoramic views of the displays and arriving in to the airport. You bring us everything and more, I always look forwards to all and every one of your videos. The car has been full of that Sahara dust, it is as my sister and Spanish family in Alicante get it on the cars. All the time, seemed pinker than what we got. Sick of washing the car !!!!! Red arrows are based at RAF Waddington and my son in law is in the air traffic control tower there.. and Pontins was a dump.. passed it every day when I went to college in st Anne’s in the late eighties ..the housing estate looks so much better!

We was down in Liverpool today and we some fly over head we assume that was the Red Arrows we was at the top of St John's Becon if we was up there any later we have seen them would have caught them on camera as was vlogging the from there is fantastic

Another great video Steve. I was hoping you would be out filming the Red Arrows and you were, thank you. The sky was a wierd colour yesterday afternoon when I was on my way down to St Anne's for the kite festival. I did manage to see that big helicopter that usually attend air shows from the no 7 bus at Blackpool Airport going down Squires Gate Lane. Great shot of Blackpool Tower, hope you'll put it in a calendar. Are you doing a calendar this year? As for St Anne's kite festival, first time I went, afternoon was nice but unfortunately the wind dropped in the evening and grounded most of the kites. It was wery warm on St Anne's Pier last night. Hopeing for a better day today. Also hoping to see some of Southport Air Show and some clear weather. Couldn't see Southport from St Anne's yesterday. Red Arrows are due to start Southport Air Show around 12 noon. Xxx

Cool little video that Steve. It’s the advantage of living in Blackpool, you get to see the reds even when it isn’t for the Blackpool Airshow, but for the Southport Airshow, Isle of Man etc. Do they come to Blackpool for the Rhyl airshow or not?

That’s a shame. Was handy for us lot up in Cumbria. Stay overnight in the premier inn just outside the airport after a night out in Blackers and then off to the Mediterranean in the morning! It was a cracking airport.

The haze was bad today, I went on South pier and could only just see central pier. I couldn't believe how quiet it was too, South pier was dead.
