They called themselves a flying circus because they were constantly moving to where they were required and stayed in tents and kept their planes in tents.

No. Sorry. I'm right and you're wrong. Richthofen said it, about the way they lived. I suppose I've read more about it than most.

Way too many decals and way to many dr1s, let alone for Jasta 11, the flying circus. The aircraft was mostly hated for it’s slow speed, high lift, and general difficulty to handle, like the German version of the Sopwith Camel. Another thing is how they didn’t even get those decals right, which the director had no excuses to cock up this badly, even when Jasta 11 was a huge morale booster for the Germans at the time, striking down up to 80 ALONE, Manfred Von Richthofen was the ace of aces, just above Werner Voss. Another famous ww1 dr1 ace at the time. Both lost their lives on the battlefield and never lived to see the world come to an urgent halt of the most brutal war in history come to an end. May the warriors of the skies and the ground be remembered as valiant foes for the enemy. Edit: typo

This scene is so amazingly well done, yet so sad. I almost cried. When the British fighter got shot down and u could hear the mans screams of terror. That was so sad. Watching all the germans troops die and not know what to do. The way Richthofen and his brother look down watching their own men die brutally. This is a wonderful movie but one of the most depressing scenes ever.

This movie would be a million times better if the characters were fictional, because the real Red Baron was a lot different from how this movie portrays him. "Kill the gunner first. When he's out of the way, take out the pilot." - Manfred von Richthofen, giving advice to his pilots that would keep them alive. "Aim at the machine, not the man." - This movie, flat-out contradicting history.

Until 1918 when America and the allies got out of the trenches that's when it was over which was April or May (100 days offensive ) Other than that ; it was a stalemate .
@owenjones75178 жыл бұрын
+1945joshuaruiz I think you mean "Until 1918 when *Britain, France and their allies* got out of the trenches". Remember, the United States' played a truly secondary role to the British Empire and the French in this war, and joined the Anglo-French "team" per se *very* late. France did most against Germany on the Western front than any other. But even then, the war's outcome was decided long before the Spring Offensive. The Royal Navy's blockade of Germany from 1914-1918 is what destroyed the Kaiser's economic and material strength, thus winning the allies the war. The German army wasn't 100% defeated at the end of 1918. Germany's economy was.
@1945joshuaruiz8 жыл бұрын
Owen Jones as much as i respect the GB and france. They weren't going to beat germany because their troops were exhausted . if it continued on it would be a european communist revolutiuon
@owenjones75178 жыл бұрын
***** The Anglo-French armies were war weary, but "exhausted" is perhaps a large over exaggeration. The British army never broke or mutinied. The French army had mutinied on several occasions, but was reordered by 1918 to repeal the main German effort of the whole war. In reality, it was the British Empire and French armies who push the Germans back the farthest following the 1918 Spring Offensive, Germany's ultimate end game. The US army suffered heavily form its inexperience and, while contributing and showing great bravery, didn't reverse the German gains nearly as much as the British and French, who's armies were veterans and well versed in the art of war. They'd been there since 1914 and learned all the hard lessons along the way. The US army hadn't been through this process. Without the US, the war may have gone on a bit longer, but Germany's defeat was nonetheless inevitable by this point anyway.
@D.M.S.8 жыл бұрын
Without the Americans Germany propably would have won at 1918. All sides were at there ends, but Germany had enough resources for a last push. Ressources the allies did not have. Not even the tanks made it a sure thing. But with the Americans and with them thousands of new and fresh troops it was just over.

I'm not sure if there were 320 Dr.I's in this scene. About a dozen, maybe, but not that many. And the movie was made in Germany. All the actors were Germans speaking English.

1:29 How to destroy a barrer blimp in one shot. Yes those blimps are barrer blimps because if a pilot crashes the engine dies cuz the material of the blimp or if the wing touches the string that connects the blimps to the floor the wings cut because most plane of ww1 were made of wood

In bf1 I wish it was lime that because if you crash into it you die.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Those are observation balloons. One flare alone absolutely will not kill any one observation balloon without oxygen mixing with the hydrogen, hence the gunfire first. The "string" you speak of in barrage balloons didn't (intentionally) cut the wings of any Great War aircraft because barrage balloons weren't conceived until 1940. And even still, they wouldn't "cut" it but rather tear it off because the fastest of these planes could fly up to 150-200 mph, against a steel cable an inch thick.
