Your videos are just showing what you do all day and for some that is probably mundane. For me, it is entertaining to watch you hook and unhook and the processes you go through. It must be a bit exasperating to you that you have KZbin experts watching everything you do and provide input on how you do everything wrong. But for me, I just watch and enjoy.

When we got done, like pouring concrete, re-roofing a house with his uncle, he would say, “Well that’s a job I would not want to do as a career”! I thought that when I realized someone off loaded what ever was in that dump truck, more than likely by hand, one shovel full at a time. If I recall correctly the truck was loaded when you picked it up the first time.

Crossing the chains on every trailer I have owned was BS. The chains attached to the tongue of the trailer at a single point. Looking down on the arrangement, the chains and the hitch receiver they attach to form a triangle. If they were to form a rectangle it would make sense. That would require the chains to attach to the tongue of the trailer further back. Even then it would not be that effective because the attachment points on my hitch receiver are only about 4 inches apart. If they were more like a foot, this would be more viable.

Casey, I have watched enough of your fine videos to notice that when you use ratchet straps, you tighten them and leave the ratchet arm open. I was wondering about the reasoning for that as all my ratchet straps have a locking plate that drops down and prevents the tightened spool from unspooling. But only if you leave the lever in the fully closed position. If you look at the construction of the side plates and watch as the arm is folded flat/closed you might see a plate that drops into a slot on the sides of the take-up reel.
@robertroach83393 ай бұрын
All these years I thought the reason you crossed chains under trailer tongues was for if coming unhitched it would prevent the tongue from spiking into the ground

Hi Casey. Long time viewer, first time poster. Just watched until you connected air from your rig to the towed rig, and I have a question that you might know the answer to. (I paused to leave this comment while I still remember to post it) Since you can connect air from your vehicle to the towed vehicle, why isn't there a similar quick connect to the towed vehicles rear lights so tow truckers like yourself could use the towed rigs break lights? Assuming they work, obviously. :-) Would that be a good or bad idea? I really do love your videos. I came because of one of your track jeep videos was related to a video, and I've been watching ever since. Greetings from a 51 year old car driver in Norway.
