What makes you think they are going to spend big money? Maybe Barnes doesn't want to play there. I heard he prefers the Giants.

They were relevant six years ago. The Red Sox may be waiting out his market. There are already rumblings that he may be willing to take a shorter deal. I wouldn't give him eight years.

What would e realistic is a trade for Sea Castillo whose remaining years are palatable money-wise. I would like to think the Sox are waiting on Seattle to agree to taking a deal around Abreau. Then sign T. Hernandez to fill the OF spot. I would endorse those moves.

Would rather have Burnes. Plus Castillo is a pitcher who is declining. He can keep up those numbers because Seattle is a pitchers park and the play the AL west alot who have weaker teams. Plus Burnes only costs money. Don't have to trade anyone and weaken your team. Seattle would want Casas and a pitcher like Crawford and maybe even a prospect. Seattle are crazy. I would stay away from Seattle.

That is why fans have to stop going to games and giving them money. They are going to kill off their fan base only signing players if they are injured. If they start seeing a half empty ball park and TV ratings that are rock bottom then they will suddenly find the money. But by then it could be too late. I dont doubt younger fans will just stop caring and just forget baseball. Sad but ownership have no one to blame but themselves.
