It makes me mad Corbin. Its not all that difficult to bring up these two you are suggesting. Its better than having a couple of relievers who are not even close to effective. I am 70 years old but I know my baseball and I can tell you do too ! Every reliever in that bullpen should have some semblance of effectiveness and I know thats not the case now. You made a good statement during last nights group meeting here. You mentioned that they can't use the same 3 relievers all the time and thats correct. They'd burn out and get injured. Thats why everyone in that bullpen needs to be half way decent and pull their weight. I think the two you are suggesting would outperform Jacques and Joely. I like power arms too that know how to find the strike zone. Rock On Corbin !!! Thanks, Joe P.S. I vote to send Joely and Jacques to the Alaska Gold Paners lol.

I agree they have the need and it's a no brainer to bring up Boozer and Kelly. Time to see what they've got and if they can bring stability to the bullpen. What an amazing job by Tanner Houk the team needed that shot in the arm and he delivered big time. Let's Go Red Sox!! Always great to be in the Red Seat with you Corbin!! Have a great day!!

Hello Corbin Nice updates on Red Sox pitching. Generally speaking they do not lack players or pitching as the injuries does mirror the depth they have in players, pitchers, and Andrew Bailey on the staff. 2024 looks very interesting.

Sox just called up Booser this afternoon. No idea what the attraction is to Joely Rodriguez. He has been terrible and needs to be released. I know it's a long season, but I would rather give the 31-year old Booser a seat on the team then watch Joely get paid far more to contribute absolutely nothing.

With an MRI set for today and Mayer starting the year healthy and on fire can we just call him up? He’s already better than Hamilton at everything except running.

To be honest I would prefer to bring up Cam Boozer because he’s a lefty and you know how much we need that (Joe Jacques and Joely don’t count they suck). I would also love Zach Kelly to replace Campbell.

9 walks per 9 innings is horrendous. Got to get that down. MLB hitters will make him pay.
@calebyoung88476 ай бұрын
I agree with this! I also wish we could give another middle infield prospect a chance and get id of hamilton. I just really think his defense and lack of hitting consistently is hurting us bad. Maybe get Sogard up here? I know he isn't playing super well but who knows. Or maybe Eddy Alvarez? I know he's 34 but if he can be league average defender and hitter, then that's wayyyy better than what Hammy is doing.

Yeah I think I would be okay with either of those

I agree with you on your analysis of Cam Boozer. Both Rodriguez and Jacques are not as affective as he is. I would welcome that change. Zack Kelly is another option. I would think Fitts to take a starting role temporarily.

This Red Sox team looks bad. Bet on Pittsburgh over the weekend. Good thing MLB is so water down they will be in wild card hunt until MLB trade line. This team has potential to be worst than 2012 team who had Ortiz,Pedroia, and Gonzales with Bobby Valentine. We see in a week.

I would definitely take Booser up here before Kelly, Until Kelly gets a better handle on the control, it is a recipe for disaster for the RedSox to have up here. If we had a much better defense I might consider it, but walks for some reason always seem to score up in the big leagues right now, so why discourage him right now, when you can maybe have Bailey visit Worcester and give a little help and have him work it out there. I think once Kelly figures it out, then he can be a really valuable weapon in the pen. Rodriguez and Jacques need to go, so at least Booser can fill one role, and I am hoping Pivetta comes back soon, so they can move Whitlock to the pen, and you could be all set. Keep Criswell up here for now as your #5 if he can give you 5 innings of quality starts it would then round out the starters, and also your bullpen is back to being much better. To Sum up, Pivetta and Criswell join the starters and stay there, while Booser and Whitlock join the pen and DFA both Rodriguez and Jacques. Just a thought though, like to know if you'd do something like that?
@redseatradio6 ай бұрын
Could be possible. I think it will depend on how confident they are in Criswell. The other problem is that totally depletes the rotational depth going forward which they flat out cannot fo
@stephencorsaro9546 ай бұрын
You have to watch Kelly ...not just look at stats. He's wild in the zone still. He'll get hit in the majors. He's getting better though. He's 2 of 3 but stuff that ends up middle if it's not moving is still too high %,and he's still working on a couple of new pitches with location. Too many of them are uncompetitive..never in the zone out of his hand. He needs another 8 or 9 appearances to settle it out.
@redseatradio6 ай бұрын
Yeah I think that is totally fair
@erikjager47046 ай бұрын
Call up Fitts+Sogard+Meidroth+Kelly. DFA Dablec+Jacques+Rodriguez. Send down Valdez . Booser is questionable. I am a little disappointed with you for thinking so small. I might be wrong about Meidroth, but Valdez can't field+now he isn't hitting. Brewslow has some work to do.
@redseatradio6 ай бұрын
Not exactly thinking small here you look at meiroth he has 1 week total at the AAA level and he’s just now slightly getting his feet under him sogard has more experience but I seriously struggling with the bat
@patrickreeves46506 ай бұрын
why not sign evan longoria to play third and be the clubhouse leader. send bobby dalbec packing as the guy is never going develop. with devers out of the lineup again today, i think we have to get used to him always being banged up for periods of the season. longoria usually stays pretty healthy, and is going to cost almost nothing.

Agreed they need to bring in another reliever, what’s his name is complaining none stop and I can’t stand it, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the balls. I still think they need to trade for an experience short stop in if Hamilton’s recent improvement. They got the chips to bet on problem is will they cash them and get rewarded is up to them
@bobmessier52156 ай бұрын
While I agree with tour assessment of Zack Kelly. I disagree about Cam Booser. His numbers prior to this season have been so unimpressive, that I don't even rank him as a Top 100 prospect. He's burly and throws hard and might've improved his game this year, but he's not been consistent, even for one season in his minor league or independent league career.
@redseatradio6 ай бұрын
That’s fine, but sometimes guys just figure something out. Look at literally every starter right now for the Sox. If he’s doing this well why wouldn’t you try to take advantage of that when your lefties at the big league level outside of Bernie even if it is for just a quick stint
@bobmessier52156 ай бұрын
@@redseatradio I'm a firm believer in playing the hot player until he cools off. Shocked that they called up Joe Jacques who was pitching horrible in Worcester this year, instead of someone else like Kelly..

For a lefty look at Jorge Benitez on the Woo Sox. Better stats than Booser, and only 24 years old. I would also consider a DFA of Joe Jacques to make room for Richard Fitts. Need additional rotational depth beyond Criswell.
@remaracs62836 ай бұрын
I hope this is the last we see of Joe Jacques. I get the profile of a crafty lefty but he doesn’t have much funk, he doesn’t have much movement and he doesn’t have any velo. There’s little downside to DFA him and see if he passes waivers
