I’d love some new subs in S4. All subs from S2 returned and we got only 1 new one. And it wasn’t good. I’d love all new specials as well since that was big part of differentiating S2 from the first game.

When you mentioned splat dualies I hope all kits reference the ones from splatoon 2 in a way. Suction and crab to reference kensa, curling jet to reference enperry, and burst bomb and a new special similar to missles (but not actually missles) to reference the vanilla.

Dark Tetra? Literally exactly the same thing as Dapple Nouveau, kit from S2 with slider instead of splashdown. Edit: also VDualies suction crab was probably a reference to Kensa Dualies in S2 with suction and baller. Crab and Baller work very differently but I'd still call it a reference kit.

First of all, I said, "Dualie reference kit." Meaning I'm only reference to Dualie kits. I'm not counting a kit that references Dual Squelcher from S1. As for Dark Tetra, I never played it S2. Honestly, I didn't think I had to. It's kinda depressing that they made the same mistake twice.

I personally would love to see a Tenta Brella with mines and Jet Squelcher with mist again. Tent with mines is such a fun aggressive twist on the weapon that adds a nice contrast to the supportive base kit. Same thing with jet squelcher: an aggro jet kit with burst bomb is always fun to have, but I really love jet with mist because it becomes this big area denial weapon that I just find very fun to play. Especially with the specials it’s had: missiles were too much on jet bc of its range, but I think storm is perfect. It’s not ridiculously powerful, and still helps jet control space by painting and dealing damage. I would love to see this happen again

my number one wish is that we get a Jr kit with Torpedo again. It's just too good to be able to constantly be attacking your opponents from multiple directions at once. Important is also that it needs a special that can also add some kind of tertiary pressure in a different direction like how Wave Breaker did

I'm willing to bet tri-stringer will always have toxic mist / whatever equivalent it gets. Literally nothing wants toxic mist, but as a trapper weapon with a delayed detonation, it actually has a modicum of synergy that isn't seen elsewhere.

I want a version of S2's h-3 kit in every game. Like, point sensor is ok i guess, but suction bomb was super nice for spacing people out so they can't just run you down as easily. It also gave you another way to influence the game that wasn't your super difficult to use main weapon, and would've felt especially nice to have with cooler since cooler doesn't really give you the power spike needed to make plays consistantly, it just lessens the punishment for failing said play.

I like zip, but I have really enjoyed Stamper's Nouveau's crab. I think splat bomb/crab would be a really fun versatile kit, but it would probably be hard to balance with such strong components.

Toxic Mist should return on Stringer as the weapon is designed to control space while being easily able to manage ink around throwing mist. Despite Toxic Mist being undertuned I really appreciate what it provides this weapon, Perhaps they could give Mist a lingering slowing effect for 1-2 Sec after leaving the area.

Getting Burst Bomb back on V-Liter specifically while I keep Beakon on C-Liter would actually make me want to play the Vanilla kit from time to time, it'd be nice to have 2 fun Liter kits that allow me to be more aggressive rather than only the one (C-Liter) ALSO YES PLEASE AUTO BOMB ON OCTOBRUSH COME BACK, I MISS IT SO MUCH

I really hope Painbrush gets Sensor again with any special other than disruption. Sensor really helps to give you direction for how slow Pain can be in encounters and works significantly better than Missiles does for location. Missiles on Painveau imo only really act as a way to clear objectives and not much else that actually help Pain do anything new. Something more aggressive and long range or even something to help Pain extend it's life would work far better than Pain getting another disruption special that takes 15 years to get if it's not actively painting for it.

Ok Big Swig Roller Express (play style) would probably be better with a Burst bomb if Angle Shooter doesn't come back. If Angle Shooter does come back I think the sub should have something additional for Splatoon 4 like touching the line also briefly prevents healing or bouncing off the wall does more damage etc

This one is slightly more general, but I want a Dualie kit with Chump. Obviously Dualie Squelchers are the obvious answer since it already has it, but I think it could work on a og Dualier or a Tetra as well. Though those two wouldn't be references

For Jet, I'd actually prefer to keep Marker plus a deliberately weak and/or unfitting special. Marker's extreme reach gives it oppressive prescense at any range and a winning matchup against any backliner, at cost of Jet being a rather shoddy backliner itself and generally having all the prescense of a linear Blaster. Burst is nice, but makes Jet a bit too easy up close, while at the same time it doesn't help its ability to spear opponents deep in enemy ink, which is less of an issue for Dousers that don't have enough accuracy and range to spear people anyway. If Flux keeps full speed midair charge in 4, Squiffer doesn't need to come back full stop. It's a strictly inferior weapon as it is now. But Squiffer should come back, and Flux should come back with at most partial speedup like Booz has. Jump charge really robbed Flux of a lot of its complexity by obsoleting all of its old techs. One Blob with Wall, other Blob with Marker, no Blob with Sprinkler please. Tetras are made to go die, but at the same time Tetras have terrible paint (doubly so because they die). You toss Sprinkler to paint and then go to die, and so crippling turf deficiency turns into mild turf deficiency. Tent also has superjump bombing with Beakon, which is super fun and unique.

This is a minor thing for specifically me, but I hope that Vanilla Tri Stringer's kit (or at least the idea of the mist and a special that targets foes) should come back. I love both of its kits but if one has to go, then I hope it's not the one that promotes using all the pieces in tandem in really cool ways. That aside, I disagree that the next game should fully port exact combos from 3 (it's the reason they didn’t do any exact combo from 2 in 3, it gets stale if the kits don't change at all between games, do not bring up the S1 to S3 argument because that was a 5-7 year gap), but the theming should be kept in cases like stamper burst zip, like either burst recall special or combo sub zip.

No idea what time period Sploon 4 will be set in (could be like actual past, be far future and GO BACK to the past, eg to current present)... so we may get completely new subs and specials... I kinda wouldn't mind "kit-less" expanding on the Side Order idea of palettes and chips...

For weapon kits, if I wanted one weapon to get a god kit it's big swig. I love big swig but if the roller only one shots with the vertical flick at a close range it should at least had a good kit or a kit that helps it for what its good at

Dart and storm work really well as a combo with the vertical flick. It’s honestly one of the best kits it could’ve gotten (synergy wise not necessarily power) I wouldn’t trade it for anything (maybe besides ink jet though)

Personally i feel like octobrush needs a good entry tool since neither of it's kits have one, preferrably fizzy. Also, painbrush has great synergy with sensor, it just sucks that they gave it missiles. I think booyah would've been batter as a displacement special (side note: dart would be good if they put it on weapons that it actually had synergy with, like rapid deco. that sub completely ruined bucket zip for me 😔)

for s3 i want: crab removed- the way it can kill u in 0.1 seconds and is not patched is beyond me tenta missles removed- most annoying godawful special, killer wail works better as a more tolerable global control special no splatana with burst- im sorry for all the sweats but this is the most unfair overpowered kit in the game. i can just easily combod by some sweat ages away way quicker than i can react, and even if its good for tournaments or smthn, its just bad for most of us remove line marker- actually just useless bring back mode similar to salmon run- because of how story mode ended im assuming its not coming back, but id love for a similar mode to come back because salmon run is fun

No. No full reference kits. If they're like Vroller from S2 to S3 where they change the special/sub for something that works/something new, alright. But if they do something like give DCarbon Burst/Zooka again because "well splatoon 1 had it", NO. God no. If we just keep referencing shit for nostalgia's sake, then honestly - what's even the point. They need to mix it up instead.
