The Relaunching of "Western Queen" on the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway - 28/09/2024

A very special day at the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway on Saturday 28th September 2024 as the last of the 'Bullock Pacifics': SBCR 1000-class 4-6-2 No.1003 "Western Queen" was relaunched into service following a lengthy seven-year restoration.
Here we see the stunning locomotive being relaunched by Keith Bullock, the Grandson of the builder H. C. S. Bullock before taking her first Passenger service in around 40 years.
Later we see a run-around and wrong-way departure at Monks Brook Halt before finishing off with a 'SUNSET SPECIAL' Lakes Express double-reverse run of the railway.

Excellent footage. Last time I was at Eastleigh lakeside, Western Queen was a set of frames. Quite a transformation.
