What a beautiful bird!. My Pop had a J3 Cub back in the 70's. We flew out of the long since gone "Blue Swan Airport" in Sayre, PA .I have great memories of lazy summers with the window/doors hinged open.

Somebody is going to be one of the luckiest people alive when they win this aircraft. My Goodness, I'm not sure I've seen a cleaner/nicer Cub ever!!!!!! The Airplane is Beautiful!!!!!! OH, what I would give for that Cub. There wouldn't be a grass strip around me that I wasn't very knowledgeable with. Early morning and late summer evenings with the door open, seeing and smelling the country side, wow!!! OK, I'll stop now.

Absolutely magnificent Cub. One thing I noticed is the wings have metal spars, which didn't come out until after WWII. I'M SURE IT FLIES AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS.

Am I confused or is the rocker box cover safety wire holding the stud at the 10 o'clock position wired wrong? It looks to be positioned so that it would tend to loosen instead of tightening! In addition, that is the first A-65 I have ever seen with drilled rocker box cover studs. Am I wrong again? They always appear to be fillister head screws! Just an observation but safety wire will scrape the paint off the rocker box covers in time.

Ryan Lewis that's actually the Bessemer Airport in Bessemer, Al. It's a very small place with a small runway. Nothing like a big "national" style airport in places like Bham or New York.

Almost too pretty to fly, I'd hate getting it covered in bugs flying on a nice summer day with the door down! But I'd be willing to put in overtime wiping them off each night before I put her to bed. Someone commented "what part is a she?" and I'd have to say she moves to graceful to be a guy and so she's getting a girls name if she ends up in my hands.
