I remember when ASA 100 was standard speed. 50 and 25 were low speed and 200 and up was high speed.

Lomo 800 is definitely best of the bunch. If you get a chance give that a try. Not only does it handle all sorts of exposures amazingly, it also pushes to 1600 clean. Great for moments where you need more light, or depth of field in images.

I have used Lomography 100 in 35mm and 120. Both looked great, the color looked great, exposing at box speed. 35mm I used a Canon AE-1 50mm lens. 120 used a Rolleicord IV. I was not disappointed at all. I'm located in Southern California, plenty of sunshine.

I absolutely love lomo 400 and it will forever be one of my go to films. and like you, I don't tend to reach for 100 speed films unless it's a super sunny day, cause I mainly do street photography and they're just not quick enough for me... so I've been avoiding the lomo 100 for a while now. But I gotta say, your video makes me want to go buy a roll right now haha! great shots, and you're right, the quality looks like professional grade film!

Ive been tempted by some of Lomos films but 100, 400 and 800 are all priced very similar to their Portra counterparts here in the UK. I do really want to try Metropolis though because its so unique looking. That said, these were great images Ribsy

I shot all my film photos last year in NYC on Lomo 400. I wanted vivid saturation, especially reds and blues to be strong and thats what I got. A lot of film street photographers in nyc are shooting portra and have a similar look to each other. So for me it's a good way to differentiate yourself from others to shoot this stock. I also shot Lomo 100 last week on my Pentax 67 and at 6:52 I noticed you scrolled through and found my photo! 🍻 The guy sleeping on the ground. My exposure came out perfect for me.

I use all 3, but normally in 120 format. Lomo 800 is my most favorite and the film stock I shoot the most for 120, the colors are so beautiful and being a very sensitive film it works well with Pentax 6x7 Lenses that are often f4 or f4.5

I love Lomo 100 in 120. I bought 5 rolls at my local lab about 3 months ago. The only reason that I didn't buy 6 rolls was because they only had 1 three pack and 2 extra rolls. Had never used any and thought I would use some on a little project that I had in mind. The results were amazing.

So many good shots in this video! Maybe I need to give Lomo another try. A friend gifted me a roll of Lomo 800, but it curled so badly that it was difficult to scan on my Epson V600. Also, the colors looked strange, so I had to edit to keep the skin tones looking natural. Not sure what happened.

Lomography gives you what you wished Kodak provided. Since Kodak makes their 100, 400 and 800 film... Which Kodak films did they slap lomography's name on?? Just guessing but 100 is most likely Pro Image, 400 is Ultramax and 800 is Portra 800 or Gold 800?

The Lomography website is the best place to see photos filtered by film, not just their own. Is there a Lomography store in New York? There were at least two in London but they've closed down ☹

The real question is what is it, really?
@caw25sha
@caw25sha Жыл бұрын
I was wondering that. I assume they don't have their own r&d and factory, but is it just another film "badge engineered" or custom made?
@randallstewart1224
@randallstewart1224 Жыл бұрын
@@caw25sha Lomography has never made a roll of film. As with Cinestill, they just buy long rolls from others and repackage them under their brand name. In the case of Lomo, that has meant that the same film name has been used for different films acquired over time (Lady Grey). That doesn't mean that a particular film is good or bad. It does mean that they do not control the supply, and a particular film may just be packaged from a couple of old, frozen master rolls pulled from a warehouse somewhere. When it's gone, there is no more. I envision Lomo's film department opening shop every day with a question: :What fell off the back of the truck yesterday?"
@kapitanbofrost914
@kapitanbofrost914 Жыл бұрын
The Lomo color negative films are probably Kodacolor VR 100, 400 and 800, the same film family that Color Plus 200 belongs to. If you compare Colorplus and the Lomo films, it is relatively obvious. The only thing that is officially known is that the film is made in the USA. The 35mm film is even sold in Kodak canisters. Also, the film is most likely not old stock, Eastman Kodak can only sell motion picture film under the Kodak brand, but they can continue to produce film for other companies who in turn distribute it under their own brand. Like Cinestill or recently Fuji.
