It makes sense not to PPF a car like this. I'm not sure, maybe Tim can elaborate on this, but I would assume PPF on a McLaren Senna easily retails for 5 tot 10k pounds. This is a great way to protect a nice paintjob like this, without spending an absolute fortune. And the nerd in me really likes these video's. Watching the GT getting PPF and Nabil talking about the process is like ASMR :P

He forgot one crucial step and almost everyone does that : After polishing you need to steamclean the paint to remove the oil residues that are left in the paint. As you polish the paint gets hot and absorbs these oils into its pores. To get these oils out you need to heat the paint again with hot steam. After that you can wipe and start applying your coating. This coating is rather basic as it's air drying. The better ones are infrared cured. For my M2 I chose a Modesta Glass Coating, which is in fact liquid glass that infrared cured into the paint. For the wheels and brake calibers and hubs we used a variant that can withstand up to 1300 ° C.

Nice to see how it’s done. I had my car coated with Crystal Serum and Exo V4 and it really works. I’ve had it on the car for 5 months and it still looks great after a wash. Of course the big test is if it still looks the same after a couple of years. Time will tell.

@@FlyingStuff I don't see how that thing can last 5 or 9 years. It will last 5 years only because these fancy cars stay in the garage for most of their lives. In 5years, that car will never have 50,000 miles. It may have 20,000 miles if it is lucky. These people with such fancy cars never drive them. So, it is not washed often. All that is done to clean it is fast detailer using same materials that adds to the coating to protect it some more. That is how it lasts that 5 years. Apart from that it never last no 5 years of it was put on a Toyota Camry that sees like 25,000 miles every year with tons of washing. It gets washed off with time. Never lasts no 5 years on a car that is driven often and washed many times a year and driven under different weather conditions.

A ceramic coating wont protect your car from scratches as a ppf does, its for the looks. You can ppf your car and ceramic coat it after and you will have both positive sides

The Focus isn't American it's German. I'm not fully educated about the past but as far as I am aware, the new Focus'(like the ones Shmee has owned) such as the ecoboost, st, rs .etc. are built in Germany and other European countries. This applies to cars such as the ecosport, fiesta, ka and other cars. However the Ranger and other Large cars from Ford are built in America. But they do not get shipped outside of America. Pretty obvious I guess. But in the next few years Ford will be fully moving to Europe making Ford cars German and not American. Not trying to spark any wars or anything but just thought I might tell you. Please do tell me if I'm wrong. :)

I agree with the fact that there isn't high demand in The States for the hatch's however I did also say that they will still be making their large vehicles such as the f150 in the states. If you are still insisting about this then I shall gladly do some research for you. But do ask your colleagues at work and they will probably agree with what I said. Also what division do you work in for Ford? Do you work at one of their service centres or are you in production or what? Would be glad to know!
