The Retro Roadshow + The Computer History Museum: TechFest!

The Retro Roadshow was delighted to partner with the Computer History Museum for their amazing TechFest event on July 27th, 2024! We presented a variety of noteworthy classing gaming consoles, each featuring games starring Nintendo’s iconic Mario character. The event was a huge success, and attendees enjoyed learning about video game history while getting hands-on time with some of the most fun and influential games in history. Great question! The circular layout of the room really encouraged folks to travel "forwards through time" from the Atari / Intellivision / ColecoVision all the way around to the N64 and GameCube, so I don't think I saw any one home console getting the most attention. I will say though, we were surprised by the excitement generated by our Virtual Boy! Attendees of all ages lined up throughout the day to experience Nintendo's "VR" system, and the feedback ranged from "ow, my eyes hurt" to "wow, that's so cool... and ow, my eyes hurt!"
