Absolute genius. The dramatic pauses and the way he labors points are the best thing about it. Rum & Coke and Red Stripe/Lilt had me in stitches. I was born into the music industry - my dad worked at Our Price. You have to watch it over and over to pick up everything.

When he did "She's the Serpent who guards the gates of hell" it brought a flood of nostalgia... of discovering Ricky Gervais and The Office as a kid, and then showing that episode to my school friends and all of us laughing. That song plus seeing that Ricky even got his old Brent haircut made me feel glad to see this video.

@@HelloJamesBond The figures I got were from Wikipedia. I think two people financed it, Netflix and a BBC film unit or something like that. Gervais probably persuaded them it was going to be a huge hit on the back of the Office and Extras. But without Merchant, I think the plot and side characters are lacking. A shame because the music is good. I can see it being a cult hit in years to come.

When I was growing up Lilt was advertised on British TV for a few years by a couple of dancing Afro-Caribbean ladies. I think Brent's use of "Lilt" was an allusion to that, what with Dom being of, I assume, Afro-Caribbean heritage.
