Right, it basically boils down to this: They are both very funny, but I think they appeal to different people. The US version is just a sitcom. A funny sitcom, but like a lot of others. The UK one is very subtle, veeeery realistic, and a lot more underplayed. The US one makes me actually laugh more, but the UK one moves me, makes me cringe, and makes me question myself all in the same scene. US version hilarious, UK version genius :)

I reaaaally wish this was in HD .. it's my favourite thing they've done and I'm including XFM .. the works . It was supposed to be included on a DVD reissue of the office but it never materialised. I suspect theres a few comments that are close to the wire but hopefully someday... If ANYBODY has a better quality copy please reply.. I've been looking for EIGHT YEARS ;-)

These two were a great team and adding Karl Pilkington pretty much made them untouchable in comedy. Shame they don't work together anymore, I think it's obvious Ricky and Steve had a falling out and Karl just had enough of being the butt end of their jokes. You can just see from Life After Brent that Ricky just doesn't quite hit the mark without Merchant in his corner
