Here is a great discourse I wanted to share with you about a much misunderstood topic.
The final verses of the Old Testament (Covenant) promise the return of Elijah. Jews still leave a seat open at the table every year during passover anticipating his return.
Who was Elijah?
What is significant about Elijah in this promise written in Malachi?
Why Elijah and not Elias, Enoch, Moses, or Abraham?
Most importantly, if Elijah had already returned...how would we know?
Truman Madsen has forgotten more about Elijah than most people will ever know. Enjoy. (Delivered June 5th 1977)
0:15: 🔑 Profound insights on a mysterious offering and a humorous anecdote about Levi's jeans.
7:52: ⚡ The significance of Elijah's return and the reunification of families through turning hearts.
14:45: ⚡ Elijah's ongoing revelatory function, ministerial impact, and unique privilege in priesthood authority.
20:13: ⚖️ Challenges faced by children raised by single parents in a church community.
27:41: 💉 Inheritance of generational tendencies must be cleansed to return to Abraham's bloodline.
33:17: 💔 The importance of forgiveness and sacrifice in spiritual growth and connection with God.
39:50: ⚖️ The importance of familial reconciliation and forgiveness in missionary work.

You're welcome. June 1977. I would have liked to have met Truman. My wife gave him a tour in Palmyra while she was on her mission and joked that he should give the tour instead. She said he was humble, sincere, and asked a lot of questions. FYI - I am in process of uploading his Timeless Questions series. You should check those out if you haven't already. Cheers

I always thought that the ones who would come back and preach and lie in the streets for 3 days would be Moses and Elijah. What better person to come and preach to the Jews but the one who they claim to follow the law based upon what Moses instructed and see if they would even stone him. The thing is if Moses is resurrected then that can not be but if he is still translated then it's a possibility but so is Enoch.

Clay - Revelations 11 makes it clear that they will manifest power similar to that of Moses and Elijah, but I hadn't considered it due to Moses' notoriety among the Jews as the greatest prophet to ever live. My opinion is that each prophet is called to minister/serve in their dispensation (or to pass on the keys of their dispensation i.e. Moses, Elijah, Elias, Moroni, P/J/J, etc) and that these are prophets currently unfamiliar to the Jewish people. I am also curious as to their mode of death as it's described figuratively as the "beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit"

Elijah is the Hebrew name and Elias is the latin meaning for the same thing. Much like Yeshua or variants of the Hebrew in Joshua or Jeshua for the Latin Greek form of Jesus. However, I have heard that their was an Elias but his name couldn't have been Elias because that name is Latin and I have heard that the person who was suppose to be Elias lived during the time of Abraham. If their was a type of person that had or came with special keys in the spirt of Elijah or Elias during the time of Abraham then that person could have been Noah, Abraham or Shem. For Shem could have been Melchizedek a type of Elias. For Noah and Shem taught Abraham about the true God and those keys were passed down through covenants made with God and selected out Abraham to be the Father of many nations with children as numerous as the stars in the heavens. For those keys were given and passed on through Abraham, Issac and Jacob or Israel where Christ would come and his sacrifice would break the barrier between God and man. For the holy vale was rent from top to bottom allowing all people the opportunity to be partakers of this holy lineage.

Soul 1 John the beloved has come and gone though our time as well as others for he as well as others never tasted of death, for it was his wish to stay in order to fulfill the requirements of God. Moses never tasted of death nor did Elijah for how could a spirit lay hands on a physical body during the Mount of Transfiguration to bestow keys to do the work of the kingdom for Christ would be the first fruits of the resurrection. They each had special keys given from God and had come down to restore what was lost for they were the last to hold them. I don't know for sure if Mosed and Elijah are the ones that will come back and preach in the streets but what better people to do - to stand and bare witness of Christ so they can fulfill prophecy unto their own.
@shellback1984
@shellback1984 5 жыл бұрын
Soul 1 well that's not exactly true because he brought Moses and Elijah back, unless you don't believe what the Bible says. Also the Jews believe Elijah will come back because they all have a chair reserved for such an occasion. Besides wither you believe or not - John the Baptist - Peter James and John as well as Moses & Elijah appeared to Joseph Smith to restore keys that had been lost.

Soul 1 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. That's what they were talking about - to not seek when evil men say that here is Christ for they were warning of an apostasy would come first and then a restoration of all things.

A by far closer interpretation and honest foresight into the scriptures and interpretation by farr would be Hyrum Andrus, ( seek out and learn) the concerns with Madson is the hidden ego that frequents all men once they have a familiar audience, these men think intellect is the same as intelligence, you get this with scholars and men with personal ambition

There is a number of missguided interpretation here, study for yourself, for the natural man comes in many forms, the matter of mind and heart can never be incorporated into intellect, intelligence and intellect are valleys apart, study the differance , there are to many saints hanging on to faith by others words, no matter the man, remember he will always fall short , the matter of the martyred prophets in Jerusalem is incorrect in fullness and misleading im truth
