I didn't even consider Plutarch but it makes so much sense. He would be a new game maker, maybe he has interesting and new ideas for how to broadcast these games. I like the idea of a protagonist being neither good or bad like the last two. He would be furthering his career and hell i could see him even being the one who sets off the volcano. But him becoming disillusioned at the end when he realizes it was all propaganda when he's told by the new president to kill the Victor's family for out thinking the Capital. That haymitch is still punished for winning just not on their level could totally radicalize a new game maker

Movie Plutarch and book Plutarch are very similar but one thing bothers me a lot: He didn't burn the Quarter Quell twist. That was Snow in the books who came up with that idea. Plutarch even tells Katniss at the end of Catching fire that he seriously didn't think she'd be a tribute.

I have also theorized that SUNRISE is about Plutarch. (Others seem to think it's about Ceaser Flickerman, which is possible but I definitely don't think it's Haymitch's POV and it's someone from the Capitol.) I think there are things that happen behind the scenes that aren't covered in the CATCHING FIRE tape. I am very curious as to WHY the birds were set on Maysilee. Katniss says the Gamemakers don't usually kill the tributes directly and typically rely on the tributes to kill each other and Maysilee got pretty close to the end only to have birds (the thing on her pin, though not the exact species) set on her. It's just suspicious to me. I would also love to know more about Tigris and how she might have influenced Cinna, because Cinna says he chose District 12 in the first book. He emerges as the best stylist but never worked in the Games before? Where did he learn? And why did he make Katniss into the Mockingjay?

I always imagined Effie being fairly young in the original trilogy, like late 20s early 30s, so I feel like she’d probably be VERY young during the 50th games. Like young enough she might not actually remember Haymitch’s win by the time they meet for the first time

Excited for this story and I have full faith in Collin’s to write a great story, but considering every movie now has been a district 12 victor and just a glimpse of the capital, I would love to see other aspects of this world, but I get a random 30th games featuring a district 6 victor nobody knows or whatever would not do well amongst people who aren’t hunger games fans. A TV show though would be so amazing. Each season is a different games. Considering how cheap the first movies budget was and how well done it was, a tv show for hunger game fans would be so freaking cool
@loaf17945 ай бұрын
I have a feeling this could be the last book though. While seeing other Districts would be great, District 12 and the Capitol are the main focus of the series as a whole, so I wouldn't see why she would write anything other than stories from/about 12. And as much as a tv show would be cool, the Hunger Games are not films just to be entertainment. Suzanne Collins is a lot like Lucy Gray in a way, she only writes another book if she has something to say, so unless the tv show has a greater lesson or purpose I don't think it would ever be made.
@benwelch65545 ай бұрын
@@loaf1794 completely fair. I know her focus is also that the hunger games obviously is horrible so having a show almost glorifying the games would literally be the exact opposite outcome she wrote the story for. Just would be cool to get more and more background around this world and see other districts/victors. But you are completely correct that she doesn’t just create things for the sake of creating, but to tell a story or theme she is passionate about which is why she announced this book of the dangers of propaganda and seeing what’s real or not
@belanakupfer96344 ай бұрын
Maybe they could do it if they did a book on someone like Finnick's or Annie's games. That way, the audience cares enough about one of the tributes to consume the book or movie, and we could open another door to learn more about another aspect of the world. @KyaKramer24 күн бұрын
Even though Sunrise is confirmed to be about the 50th Hunger Games, I would love a story about Johanna Mason and her game. She's the most rebellious of the tribute winners, and we know the Capitol killed all her family, so a story about what went down would be interesting. Who was her mentor? Did she come up with pretending to timid and small? How bloodthirsty was she at the end? What happened afterwards? Would we learn about what happens to winners after the tour? Plus, it would be about District 7, so we would learn more about what life was like outside the Capitol and outside District 12.
@rebeccaswihart42914 ай бұрын
now THIS is a character I hadn't considered. The topic of the novel definitely ruled out any of the tributes. Haymitch would only be a cash grab, and I like the mystery in his character. I think Collins is a better writer than that .

I'd like to see a dual perspective with two protagonists. Plutarch would be an amazing POV character who'd initially start out as a capitol loyalist who realizes the Hunger Games are evil. Sunrise could be his origin story as a rebel. Maysilee would be interesting as well, we've only had victors as POV characters, seeing the games from the POV of a doomed tribute would be darkly interesting. After her storyline ends Plutarch could take over as the protagonist.

I don’t necessarily think so. I think that he had good intentions but the way he executed those intentions and the plans he made to do so were more along the lines of the “The ends justify the means” mentality similar to how Gale acts in MJ when he creates the double explosion that killed Prim. That may not have been his ultimate intention but his reckless choice to make something like that cost Prim’s life since she is a medic and would be endangered by such a trap.

I think he joins the rebellion because he saw the human cost of the games. At first he is one of them and a guy who doesn't question anything but after witnessing the execution of Haymitch's family it caused a spark in him. This spark would only grow as for the next 25 years he saw as Haymitch fell even further than before. He would begin to see that nobody ever won the games and that the victors were worse off than the dead. That is what Sunrise on the Reaping is going to be about

It would be interesting to see the games/rebellion being told from the perspective of a rising president coin or her predecessor from D13. We haven’t heard anything about the development of D13 with the exception of the events of Mockingjay during the 2nd Rebellion. This new story perspective as a prequel reminds me of how The Fever Code is written as why WICKED/WCKD does the things they do through the original memories of Thomas when he was forced to work for them against his friends before being sent in without his memories and Teresa does seem to know what is going on always suggesting “WCKD is Good” even though she should have also had her memories wiped when being sent into the trials.

I think the Plinths could still be alive. Sejanus was almost 18 in the 10th HG. People marry young in the districts, so perhaps his parents were under 40 then. 40 years later, they'd be around 80, if not late 70's. And they live in the Capitol, now, not the districts. Snow was in his mid 80's when he choked on his own blood. Tigris three years older, and apparently in decent enough health. That's not to say they will necessarily appear in the book, but don't take it for granted that they won't. Your analysis of Heavensbee was very astute...but I don't think he'll be the narrator.
