The last time I played the great war mod as the US, I did absolutely nothing because the entente were able to beat the central powers within a year. All because Italy was actually competent and overwhelmed Austro-Hungary.

It's really cool how the GreatWar Mod transitions into multiple other Mods, when the game goes historically it becomes the base game, when Germany wins it becomes "Kaiserreich", if Russia survives it becomes "In the name of the Tsar".

this mod is everything you could want, from tsarist soviet empire to true Ottoman Roman Empire and so many fun things, i think the newest trees that will be added is the greek tree and some more, so cant wait for those!

There is alot of potential for alt history. But if you ever want the game to resemble anything like it's name sake WW1, then you have to play as Germany as the AI can't handle it. For this reason alone the mod goes from being one of the best to mediocre.

In the current version of the mod you can genuinely play as Russia and be home by Orthodox Christmas and it's way too easy. I started a playthrough where I was trying to loose badly enough to trigger the civil war. I had nothing but 18 width infantry with support artillery and 8 width cavalry. I started a front-wide offensive to waste manpower, only to find myself standing in Dresden and Budapest by the start of 1915. The German and Austrian AI are currently broken in a way which mean that only AI stupidity from the Russians can even get them far enough to trigger the revolution. Their lines on the eastern front are 2 divisions per tile at most, with templates that get beat up by the basic vanilla template. The German and Russian focus trees are fun to play but really show their age against the French one which is the only one tailored to NSB

Yeah the Great War mod is broken, as the central powers get rolled over all the time in 5 seconds. The ottoman typically fall 5 seconds after entering a war.When they do, the Austrians follow quick and then the Germans. Also fun fact, it's a 50 50 chance that we1 even starts as the ottoman sometimes beat the Bulgarians and Serbians, stopping Austria from being able to have their arch duke being shot.
