If April Dancer and Mark Slate would have been in this movie the movie would have been even better. But we would have Stephanie Powers trained in Martial Arts so that she could fight her own battles with her hands, feet and guns!!!!!!

No kidding! I remember being so disappointed that April Dancer was nothing like Mrs Peele. I stopped watching her show after only a couple of episodes.

@@lonniecavenee6201 Stephanie Power was so beautiful but they should have had her spent some time training with Bruce Lee and Angela Mao Ying and like you said make her character like Emma Peele!!!! Also I was extremely disappointed when April was kidnapped and Mark was rushing to her rescue on a cheap bicycle!!!! I though to myself this stinks!!! James Bond has the Aston-Martin 007 Car and all Mark has is a cheap run down old bike???? Mr. Waverly really is frugal!!!! I mean he makes Napoleon fill out a special requisition form just to get a small bottle of white-out!!!!! Lol!!!

When Norman Felton met with Ian Fleming, Mr. Fleming already had a lot on his plate: he was flush with the success of the James Bond movies, he was dealing with a lawsuit, and he was perhaps not in the best of health at the time. He gave Mr. Felton a couple of character names: Napoleon Solo and April Dancer, both of which were used. So it's fair to say that he contributed to the series, but NBC loved the Fleming connection and played it up, promoting it as though he did actually create the series. I think it may have been at least partly because President John F. Kennedy had listed "From Russia With Love" as one of his five favorite novels in an interview.
