The Return of Ultimate Spider-Man

The new Ultimate Spider-Man run by Jonathan Hickman of 'Secret Wars' fame and Marco Checcetto is shaping up to be one of the greatest Spidey comics to ever come out of Marvel.
Literally every single thing we've gotten since Ultimate Invasion has brought my hype just that little bit higher, and I can't wait to see this new Spidey swing into action alongside juggling his marriage with Mary Jane and his fatherhood to his two awesome kids.
It'll also be really cool to see him working alongside Jameson and Uncle Ben as an investigative journalist, helping New York in ways he couldn't while wearing the webbed red and blue spandex!
I urge everyone to go out and purchase issue one of Ultimate Spider-Man to show Marvel that these are the kinds of stories we want to see!

I love this story it gave me everything i ever wanted and plus finally giving us the one true peter parker who's actually a adult and shocker and seeing Peter parker and Mary jane being married and they have there daughter mayday parker the future spider-girl and her brother Richard parker all being family is really awesome and badass in my opinion. Also another thing I loved about this story is seeing Peter parker becoming Spider-Man because he was inspired by his wife Mary jane and uncle ben which is actually something unique and very cool in my opinion, and I am also curious if we are going to see mayday parker his daughter reaction to her father being a superhero which is going to be adorable in my opinion.

Unless your new to comics, some people have already seen this same type of song and dance before. This was done as a way to gauge interest and increase comic sales, this comic run will start out potentially strong then whenever the lead writer shifts positions to work on another Marvel comic series, it will switch to a different writer who might not get what the original writer intended and end up messing a bunch of things around. I happened with Nick Spencer, it will happen with Jonathan Hickman. This isn't Brian Michael Bendis again. Marvel Comics is really trying to use the "Ultimate" name to lure people into a false sense of security because they're previous "Ultimate" series was critically well renowned.

Do you know what’s strange? I grew up reading superior Spider-Man, and I’ve grown up in this era of Spider-Man and I really do like it. I like Zeb Wells’ run, and it’s made me happy. But the series that got me into Spider-Man, was ultimate Spider-Man. Both Peters and Miles’ series. I think that I’m a mix between the new and the old, and I’m always excited when something new touches the character. I got this issue, and liked it. But my dad, he loved it. He doesn’t really read comics, either. He said that it reminded him of how he felt in his earlier years as a Dad. I really have no words besides that. I hope that this series continues to bring my dad joy, because lord knows he needs it

The new Ultimate Spider-Man is *great* so far. My favorite part of any alternate Spidey story is seeing how things change or stay the same, and it doesn't disappoint. The art is fantastic, and the characters are written and interact well. The worst part of ASM lately has been how flat everyone is. Paul, outside of Jackpot (which is mediocre at best) is less interesting than soggy cardboard. MJ, Peter, *everyone* is. But in USM, Peter, Ben, MJ, JJ, and everyone are well written and *interesting.*

when the comic was announced and some variant covers where circuling online me and my friends where speculating about hickmans ultimate spiderman and when i theorize that peter would get a suit similar to the unlimited suit with the ability to change appareances like the trailer show everyone thought i was crazy. But i was not and that fills me with joy, now in a serious note i think will die but not by a crook or a villain since peter already knows about resposability and it doesnt seem like they would kill him just to develop johna so what i believe it could go is: ben will probably get hospitalized someway maybe get 3 or 4 issues in that state and in the end of an arc or just at a random issue he would just suddendly die

I adored the first issue. A Spider-Man who was meant to be bitten at 15 but wasn’t and even lost his parents at 15. He lives a happy but an unfulfilled life. This book is about starting anew and making a scary but brave choice which is a perfect theme for a new universe Spider-Man. We see these brave new choices by Hickman as he brings back Uncle Ben who in this universe never died but lost May in Ultimate Invasion. It’s incredible. Him and JJJ were the standouts and they helped Peter’s story incredibly The family dynamic with MJ, Peter and the kids was great and I’m excited to see more of it. I love that this Peter chose to be Spider-Man and had the responsibility and not the power. It’s a fresh take on a character I love so much which still feels in line with the character whilst also being new. I can’t complain. I loved this book so much
