There’s a reason why the episode 54 “Hero” has the highest viewer rating on IMDb. At least it did back when it first aired. I remember when AoT first came out back in 2013 and I remember thinking how in the fuck are they ever going to take down the colossal and the armored titan? They were and seemed at the time as literally invincible entities that humans had no counter for. Okay so yes I did read the manga so I knew how the fight would turn out before the anime aired but it took 6 years for viewers to get the most satisfying kill in AoT. So many people died, so many gave their lives for something that may not even be true, so many had to die just to get to this one, perfect moment. Bertholdt went from this unkillable menace to begging for his life and all of that was just to find out how much, much worse the world actually was. Absolute peak anime, I’ll never get tired of watching this arc.
