The GTI doesn't compete with the Type R, the Golf R competes with the Type R.

The GTI is a price competitor with the Civic SI, the Type R is the price competitor with the Golf R. No one is cross shopping a GTI and a Type R.

It doesn't look like the Golf R is sold in the Italian market based upon VWs website, but the GTI is still 1,900 euro cheaper according to the respective italian websites, and I'm assuming like in the USDM market, GTIs are readily discounted while Type Rs are often sold at or over MSRP.

The golf is btw the only real hatch the Seat is al estate as Said in the video en the type R became to large Its the size if a Mondeo So the winnen for me ist the golf and I bought One and I looked for a type r bit is was little to much monny for me

True, the R and Cupra share the same engine using the IS38 turbo, the GTi has the smaller IS20!

0-60 time for that type R is rubbish considering the power. The new fiesta ST is around 200 bhp with 0-60 being around 6 seconds
