The Revell 69 Pontiac GTO Build Update 4
The engine got plug wires, fuel line, PCV lines, sending lines, and a dip stick. I made a bracket for the alternator, but it still needs painted. The chassis is now ready for some weathering as the gas tank is painted. The rims got a coat of chrome silver and German gray, and the decals put on. The interior has the flat black carpet, and the dash is detailed and looking good. Then I got all the decals on the body. They went well and gave me no problem at all.

Man I tell ya, you are so into details it is awesome! Love the wheels and rims and that German Gray is better. I have just use the black panel liner mostly but I will use it on my GTO... Which is not started and your are done as I told ya the other day... 🤣 I for got to tell ya that the pics of the decals were so grainy could not clean them up. Should have scan them... I think the military modelers us a dark gray instead of black, to make it look more "in scale", I like the way those wheels look. That dashboard came out amazing! This build looks great so far, can't wait for the final.

Thank you. I totally agree, the gray does look more like the right color at that scale. I am very happy with the dash. I even got the Pontiac emblem on the steering wheel to look right. I forgot to show it in the video.

I use my clear Mod Podge for a lot of things. It holds chrome in place very well too and does not fog up the chrome. I also use it to tack the glass in place. It is so useful.

Very nice, Mark. It's really coming along. I was keen on how nice the wheels turned out. I plan on building a 70 Trans Am and (of course) it uses the same type of wheel and I've not figured out a way to get them looking like they should - but you did. Did you hand-paint that black and silver separation on the star segment of the wheel? Or did you use a mask? Anyway, thanks for the video. Always an inspiration!

Thank you. I airbrushed everything with Chrome silver, then brush painted the German gray. Those separations kind of had a line where you could follow on a few of them, but the rest were just freehanded. A small brush and shallow breathing helped a lot. LOL

Rob, thank you very much. I use .3mm solder that I get from Amazon. It is so easy to use and a nine dollar roll will last so dang long.

Thank you. That orange is a small bottle of Tamiya Orange mixed with 32 drops from an eye dropper with Tamiya gloss red.
