Could you use the new witch from mercury multi stand for the funnels?

Doesn't look like you can. The only connectors included in that set are 3 mm pegs and brackets specific to WFM bits. The fin funnels have a cross-shaped hole.

I am building this kit right now :) I picked it up at Hobby Lobby at 40% off. To be honest I would be willing to buy it at full price but the discount made it an amazing deal. I just got into the hobby since Christmas. I asked my wife for a kit since I started seeing videos of builds and custom builds and really wanted to try it out. She gave me the ultimate MGEX Strike Freedom but of course I didn't want to ruin what is arguably (per the videos I've seen) the best kit out there, so I went to Hobby Lobby, found another round of 40% off specials and got the RG Wing Zero. I liked it so much I used all my family Christmas gifts and went from 0-5 kits in a matter of weeks. I have built the RG RX-78-2 (which I used as my testing grounds for panel lining with standard Gundam markers) with full decals, so it looks really cool. Then I built a FM (which to me is a MG due to the size and detail/quality) Aerial, and finished an MG Barbatos which I also panel-lined. I think the Aerial will remain as-is, I love the clean look. But the back cover of the Barbatos manual had a really cool pic with panel lining so had to do it hehehe. So far I finished the legs of the Hi-Nu and it is truly insane how much detail. And I am actually liking the size, the regular RF 1/144 scale kits are a bit too small for me. After I finish the Hi-Nu all I have left is the MGEX Strike Freedom but I am thinking of getting an MG Kyrios instead and the Raser Gate Removal kit to make the MGEX the absolute best kit I can build. All I need is some action bases to go along with them, which by the way, I have researched a bit, but which bases would you recommend for my models to have cool dynamic poses? Finally, want to comment your video was really nice, explained really well the articulation and gimmicks and also liked you were honest and open (and appreciative) of getting that kit from someone else.
@citrusjuicebox Жыл бұрын
Welcome to the hobby! I'm glad you're having a good time. It can certainly feel like a slippery slope in the beginning, especially these days with so many exciting kits to build all the time. For display bases, I have a stash of Action Base 4 and 5 that I use. They're the same basic design, just in different sizes. Not the cheapest package or the easiest to use, but they're pretty sturdy and the big arm can split in half, so you kinda get two displays in each pack. The hexagonal bases also tessellate, which looks good and increases stability. Action Base 6 is probably my next favorite, since it's very easy to use, but it's not sturdy enough for MGs, unless they're the smaller ones (MG F91, etc.). Happy building!

This little guy is probably the best iteration of the Nu Gundam I've ever built. The articulation is insane, and posing the novel Nu is even easier and more fun than the RG movie version. The details look even more impressive than the Nu ver Ka, which the RG Nu failed to outshine. The proportions I prefer since it just has that chonk without looking too stubby, retaining the feel of agility I got with the RG Nu. Everything works so smoothly and the leg bend is just wayy better engineered than the RG movie Nu. The only things the RG movie ver I feel might be better are the beam rifle and the bazooka. The beam rifle on the RG Nu has more color separation & details, and same with the hyper bazooka. The bazooka on the movie ver also has more subtle connection point to the backpack unlike the novel ver, which can be a thorn to my side at times.

Glad to see you upload again, always love your content! The RG Hi Nu conflicts me, because in terms of pure construction, it’s very well made (barring the awkward over engineered knee bend and the gaping maw of the ab crunch), but I just hate how it looks. The colors just do not vibe with me unfortunately. Anyway, great video as always dude!
@ajnutable Жыл бұрын
the RG hi-nu being so good kind of miffs me because I really like the ver. ka design visually, but the rg is notably better in most non-aesthetic ways. I actually tried to make the pose in 37:40 (though maybe a bit less extreme) with my ver. ka back when I built it, but the backpack wings can't turn vertically so I ended up just ripping one off the backpack by accident when I tried. I'd probably buy the RG hi-nu just for that, but I don't like owning multiple grades of the same kit because I don't have enough space for my kits to really justify that.
@chocolat994 ай бұрын
Its a bit late but - Effect Wings also sells a RG Hi-Nu HWS expansion set (complete with additional transporter to carry the armor/weapons) and also includes armatures to hold the funnels.

Pretty sure this kits height is to match the height of the RG Sazabi. Both are way bigger than other RG's. Im in the camp that I like how big both are. I have both of these kits. The Sazabi is built and I really enjoy looking at it. Cant wait to find the time to build this one to have them next to each other and have them both pretty much the same size. Thanks for the video its not exactly easy to find one that actually shows the size of this model when fully built.
@citrusjuicebox8 ай бұрын
I think the large size is fine too. Downsizing it to the correct height probably would've meant cutting some features, and I'm sure people would complain about that even more.
