It's fine if the rich get richer, but if the poor don't get richer too, the poor will turn on the rich. Happy, well fed people don't have revolutions. If you desire prosperity you should take care of your poor.

I am a middle class American. None of these talking heads explains why, if the "rich" get richer, that's a problem for the rest of us. I have no issue with anyone getting more wealthy provided they're doing it through honest means. If someone gets more wealthy through honest work or a great idea it has no effect on me or anyone else who isn't wealthy. They didn't steal their wealth from me and it's not as though there's a limited supply of money and what they earned meant there's less available for me. In fact they might have created something which benefitted me, thereby becoming more wealthy. I applaud that.OXFAM and CCPA make arguments that proceed from one simple idea that they dare not mention. That is this: most of the non-wealthy are envious of the wealthy. So, their solution is to take $$ from the wealthy and give those $$ to the non-wealthy. Or to prevent people from becoming wealthy. Experience tells us these plans never work.

Do loto tickets sell more when the jackpot is $60,000,000 or $1,000,000? Will the winner give $58,000,000 to food banks? Not likely. Everybody wants to be rich and complain when the rich get richer. If your kids have iphone 7s and you shop at Walmart and buy from Amazon and elect a billionaire as President who’s making the rich richer???

I don’t think people can become rich...can you imagine everyone trying to live like Americans or even Europeans? We would need several Earths just to sustain ourselves. Maybe if our governments would come together and try to find resources in our solar system we could all benefit. But instead the 1% are creating their own space programs so they can benefit from it and own all the gold again.

Those who hate rich people are not hating them for injustice. They are hating them because of jealousy. The same people who talk about how unfair things are, would be the first to get fancy new clothes, new cars, ordering food, new phones and laptop. Ever wandered why over 30% of people who wins lottery goes into poverty within the first 2 years? Or 50% into poverty within 5 years?

Mavaddat Javid but your premise is clearly false. I simply looked up GDP growth for industrialized countries to disprove your assertion. Here's but one example www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/gdpnewsrelease.htm
