Hi, love the video, I am an Emirati, and one thing I wanted to make clear, the plate numbers are sold for charity, so people bid on them just like bidding on valuable items for charity. Love the video, you are so respectful of the culture regardless of how open-minded and laid-back Dubai and most of the UAE are. Please come to Abu Dhabi it's the UAE's capital, no strict rules on drinking than they are in Dubai (Just no DUI and no self/other endangering behavior), you will love it here! We have luxury islands, so you should visit Saadiyat (MY FAVORITE), Al Reem, and Yas island, Yas has amazing theme parks, I don't want to make this a long comment please do look it up and come visit it totally deserves more coverage.

I went to Dubai during a deployment in the Navy in 2018 and it was awesome! The futuristic museum you went to was being built when I was there and was half finished. The Burj Khalifa was a surreal experience, we went to the top floor and got a full view of Dubai, it was $150 too! The Dubai Mall is the largest mall in the world with a ski resort built inside, it took hours to see the whole mall! The buildings are all new, modern, and clean, the streets are clean and there’s no trash or homeless anywhere! I will return in the future to see the progress from 2018. I also recommend Monaco for those that like luxurious travel destinations. Monaco was another country we visited and I definitely will return

I hear a lot of shady business happens there. I was catfished once talking to a guy living there. He was so secretive about his job there. He worked at an investment company but he could never face time on WhatsApp due to work. He said his clients are bad people and that he had been threatened many times by them. Never mess with their money. I also find that it’s not a great place to raise a family. They are all about the superficial and the locals get treated horribly. There are KZbin videos on this. With glitz and glam there is also a dark side.

Dubai is not the richest city in the world - not in terms of GDP, not in terms of GDP/GNP per capita, not in in terms of housing most millionaires/billionaires - whatever metric you are using. San Francisco area has way more millionaires and billionaires than Dubai - but Americans are not very extravagant and ironically socialist in their behaviour; they live in big private secluded simple houses and love collecting antiques and art, and that's all they care about.

The value of plate numbers are not Only determined with the number of digits, the plate could be a 5 digit that reads “11111”. The sequence and the repetitions of the digits matter as well. A “11111” or a “55555” plate would cost over $300,000. They would cost the same as special 4 or 3 digit plates. Same with 4 digits. The repetitive numbers determine the value 💯 ie; my plate number 4404 , it costed me around $22,000. If it was “4444” it wouldve been $200,000

I was born and raised in the UAE 34 years ago and can tell you that it is great as a tourist destination but it is very expensive compared so to some of the other well known capitals in the world.
