My husband and I were personal friends of Chuck's. So was pleasantly surprised to see your blog about him. We will never forget the day his secretary called us to tell us he had passed away. He had quite an interesting life and career and is greatly missed. He would have gotten a kick out of seeing someone take such an interest in his life and career.

Watched re-runs of the Rifleman and what sticks out to me, is that there was always a lesson in good life values in just about every show, hokey by today's standards. Have seen your Ritchie Valens vlog, that was amazing too, thanks for sharing this with us today.
@southernshop84244 жыл бұрын
Those values are anything but hokey, timeless maybe there would be less rioting and peoples lives and businesses being destroyed if those hokey values were still taught. And insurance does not cover destruction caused by rioting.

Chuck Connors was a Renaissance man. I knew he played professional sports for the Boston Celtics, and Chicago Cubs, I do believe he also went to West Point? .I did not know about the Dodgers and the backboard. I read somewhere that the rifle used in the rifleman was the same rifle used by John Wayne in 1939's Stagecoach. I did watch some of the movie and sure enough when Wayne has the shoot out at the end of the movie you can see that ringed lever on the lever action rifle. So nice of you to always stop by your friend Shelly Winters grave. I remember how you delivered sandwiches to her and became friends. Pretty lady in her younger years and quite the swimmer in The Posiden Adventure and still pretty.

Great vlog! I grew up watching the Rifleman and "loved" Johnny Crawford at least as much as a preschooler could "love"! Guess I was into "older" guys! I remember reading somewhere that Chuck Connors was so good at handling the rifle that pretty much got him the part. I also remember Roots and I believe everyone was riveted to that show at the time. It did have a lot of stars in it. Personally I was saddened to see Chuck Connors being such a badass on the show but then that was because he was so beloved in the Rifleman. Roots woke up a lot of people with its content myself included. Now when I run across the Rifleman I think wow how racist was that! The times have changed! Thanks for remembering Chuck Connors Jordan!

Hi thanks so much for the great video!! You can tell by my user name that I am nuts about Chuck Connors!:) I used to do tribute videos on here and I had a forum dedicated to Chuck for a couple of years. You will never know how refreshing it is to see Chuck's life honored in such a way. I fell for Chuck Connors after seeing an episode of The Rifleman back in 2012 or 2013. I was mesmerized by his looks, his acting and the character of Lucas. I also loved the way he swung that rifle. All I wanted to do for along time was share that love with the world. Like I said I am nuts about Chuck Connors lol. Sinced then I learned all the facts you shared in this video and much much more. I sure hate I will never meet the man himself. The more I learned about him the more I loved him. Thanks again for this video about a most inspiring and magnificant man.

This was great. Roots was on tv when I was in middle school I think. I did watch it and I really remember not liking him for years because of the role he played. Now that I'm older of course I know it was just a character he portrayed, but like you, it stuck with me. So interesting to hear about his life. What a good looking young man he was. Life goes by so fast right? These people remind me of that. Thank you Jordan. I love this stuff. FYI I have 3 little female dogs. I wanted to name the newest one ZsaZsa but my husband didn't care for it, so I named her after the other Gabor sister. So, we call her Ava Gabor.....then I realized I wish I had named the other two ZsaZsa and Magda... Then I'd have the "Gabor sisters" haha. Anyway, I know you'll know who the Gabor sisters were and thought you'd get a chuckle out of that. 🤗
