Great tribute to Don Rickels. I believe he would be proud. I really got to know him through the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts (which I own several of). He was quick-witted. Thank you for sharing. I was always a great fan of Don. Back in the 70's as a kid growing up the who family used to see him on TV a lot. Different shows and appearences along with quite a few movies. I believe we seen him on darn near everything he did. Dont see his stuff much anymore however I did watch him on Kellys Heros with Clint Eastwood about a week ago. The world will never have another Don Rickles...he was one of a kind! Thanks Jordan!

Another great one Jordan. Don Rickles was truly one of the best out there. Definitely an ending to some of the best comedy in show business. One of the best points to make about those roasts. Never using profanity and was hilarious. I watched a few of what they call the roast today and just cringe with disgust. Again, another great one! Have a great day!

So interesting to hear how he got started. There will never be anyone like him. He was a master at his craft. I grew up with him & watched him all the time. My mom & I would laugh till we were weak. True story. My friends and I were NEVER home. We''d run the streets and cruixe in my car. But on the Thursday night roasts, we'd be at one another's house watching Don blast it out of the park! My friends were all younger than me and they LOVED him. He still makes me laugh so hard I cry. Thank you for this and all you do. Love Jah. He's soooo cute!

Don hosted The Tonight Show often and 1 night he broke Johnny's cigarette box. The next night, Johnny asked Ed what happened? Ed told him Don broke it and Don was filming C. P. O. Sharkey in the next studio and Johnny went in with a camera. Very funny and i am sure it's on KZbin.

Thanks for showing this. I loved Don he was such a great comedian and will misses his great humor. If maybe you could show the other graves that are with his as I think one is his son who died just a few years ago of a sudden illness. He was only in his late 30's I think. I heard that Don was really divested by his death and I don't think he ever really got over it. No parent should have to bury their child! Thank again.

Oh by the way that periscope thing really is a periscope but for air intake. So the vehicle is able to go thru deeper water with no problems up until the height of that intake. I have never seem one on that type of vehicle though.

Johnny Carson is from my town...in June we always have a huge comedy festival and a local artist put a huge Johnny Carson mural on a building in town,we have the Johnny Carson museum and is childhood home that Adam the Woo has been to...i also took care of one of his teachers from school when she was in nursing home

Thanks to Jordan, I’ve been taking a trip down memory lane. Don Rickels is in my top 5 all-time favorite comedians. Sinatra is my favorite vocalist, and Carson is my #1 late night talk show host. All three are prominent in this vlog. I’m saddened that today’s PC environment will not lend itself to Rickels’ brand of comedy. We need to all be able to take a joke.

that exhaust Periscope thing that you saw on that van that is known as a snorkel it is hooked up to the carburetor as you took note it was on a 4 by 4 lift kit that is so the van can go into deep water and the engine won't get drowned out due to the snorkel engines need air to combust the gas

That Periscope thing on that van it's actually a snorkel it's an air intake snorkel for the engine that way they can go through deep water and not suck water into the intake manifold on the engine

Aww. Don Rickles was one of a kind. When I was preschool my Mom would let me stay up to watch Johnny Carson because my Dad worked 2nd shift in a local factory. Don Rickles was a regular guest and so funny that even Johnny would just roar with laughter at his insults. You are right he never made horrible insults just said it like it was about anybody and everybody. I watched a lot of those roasts with Dean Martin. Don was hilarious. No one could keep a straight face around him. I believe he also was one of the stars in "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" wasn't he? And yes the beach movies. What a great vlog! Thank you Jordan. Mr. Warmth is sadly missed.

Don Rickles also did a TV show that I remember as a kid watching was called C.P.O. Sharkey. I watched the show in reruns on Comedy Central in the 90's. I remember my parents watching C.P.O. Sharkey and Mr. Rickles was funny as heck to watch.

I loved the cultural events. They're interesting and you get to see new and different things. I got a kick out of Don Rickels. He always had a $1,000.00 check every year for Jerry Lewis and the MDA. Jerry always had him on the show every year. I think he was a good man. Bob Newhart and his wife and Don Rickels and his wife used to go on vacations together. Very interesting vlog. Thanks Jordan.

Jah reminds me so much of when my 12 1/2-year-old black pug, Daisy, was much younger. She always had to be the center of attention of all of the other pugs at meet ups. And, she would go around to each individual pug owner and sit pretty in front of them with that blue steel diva pose for treats and praise. It usually worked for her. Now that she requires to go to events in a stroller due to arthritis, she still seems to be a magnet to people who give her praise and attention. Our cute little fur babies never seem grow out of being major manipulators. 😆
