I really appreciate James Tunney's fearlessness of intellect. No, he doesn't know everything about everything and sometimes he does demonstrate weaknesses or limited knowledge in the things he mentions which are not worth picking apart BUT he is a free range thinker and above all else that is the best thing viewers can take away -- inspiration and ideas! He's a global thinker, he's interested in finding threads between wide ranging ideas and thinkers throughout history. This is the antithesis of the way we are conditioned which is all about being concrete and specialized and living with blinders on. He's full of interesting ideas, he's definitely not afraid to go out on a limb with his OWN THOUGHTS (just think of it -- someone who is not a parrot filling your echo chamber with the sounds of your own mind!) I absolutely love this guy. He reminds me of the old fashioned "public intellectual" which we do not have anymore at all. For those who like to 'agree' or "disagree" or "like" or don't like" everything everyone else says if you listen to him he's saying you don't actually have to make all your narrow choices. You don't actually have to look at everything as a direct reflection of yourself and reject whatever does not match. If you are fearless like he is you can just keep opening your arms and your mind wider and wider IF, and this is the point of this talk -- you can keep your internal bearings. Everything we take in has to be processed and assimilated just like food. The easy part is gobbling up information, the hard part is letting the whole system rest and digest and extract the nourishment that supports growth and health and eliminate the waste. We are lucky to have this conversation and, as always Dr. Mishlove never disappoints as a host.

I'm really warming up to Mr. Tunney now. One thing I noticed but let me contextualize it first. Mr. Tunney is far more accomplished, thoughtful and well-read than I'll ever be in many lifetimes. One thing I noticed, and it's alright, is that the connections and parallels he draws between elements are rather loose, nebulous and imprecise. It's alright because he's not presenting a philosophy paper and is not asking anything of the audience - except maybe to think. And one can ask the audience to think in all circumstances. Please post many more interviews of Mr. Tunney. Thanks for all you do.

Fascinating conversation! Mr. Tunney is a great guest. To keep this short and sweet, all I’ll say is to remember that power can come in many forms. It isn’t always the power to dominate others, but at times, rather, the power to be kind, humble, and to empower and edify others. Stay sane on the path out there, folks!

Wonderful listening to some one who has traveled the same or similar writers in a quest for spiritual truths Again following AE has given me a thread to enrich my knowledge thanks to that wonderful interview you’ve done together. lAs part of my studies in Vedanta I’ve read the Aghora trilogy and was shocked into another level of awareness of how far left we can go, My quest for healing and liberation from my own demons has lead to India where I’ve visited the cremation grounds and dipped in the Ganges. I was mesmerised by these holy people who have chosen this path at the Kumbha Mela and continue to be fascinated at their extraordinary sacrifice. They showered this small grey haired Irish woman with their flowers and blessings - a never to be forgotten experience. Theory is great but the live show must happen within to be truly humbling and transformative. The great line from Mary Oliver’s - Wild Geese - poem starts with “You do not have to be good...” is truly liberating as is David Whyte’s - Sweet Darkness - where his last lines say “if something does not bring you alive, it’s too small for you”. Thank you again for facilitating this wonderful conversation, especially during these dark times, with an evil “elite” imposing ongoing mandatory poisoning of all that is sacred - eating at the very Soul of our hOMe here on Earth. “May all beings in all worlds be blessed”⚛️

I am getting a lot from these interviews with Tunney. It's interesting to compare and contrast his perspective with that of Jason Jorjani. Jorjani promotes a rather nietzschean, promethean point of view, a sort of gnostic point of view that sees man as being confined by a demiurgos that prevents men (gender neutral, of course) from becoming gods. I wouldn't say Tunney takes the exact opposite view, but it is very different. As he says, he tries to take a center course that weaves in between submission to God and exerting one's will. This dialectic between submission (to something higher) and affirmation (of self) is very important, at least for me. Thanks for this wonderful interview!

Thank you for this interesting conversation. I do wish James had spoken more about Franz Bardon as an examplar of the left hand path, as opposed to Aleister Crowley. From the perspective of a “left hand path” practitioner, it is the “right hand path” that is more prone to materialism, and a lack of regard for karmic consequences. Those who pursue the LHP without the ability to perceive broadly the karmic trajectories of their actions, will most likely run into to some very hard knocks; so, we cultivate the perception of the mystic to inform the action of the magician. The “right hand path” offers training wheels for those who have not yet developed the capacity to feel for themselves where the karma is going to go.

Brilliant discussion with James again. There are several OT verses--if you wish to look for some guidance in this area--that advise to take the middle path like this one: "Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil." Yes, we should remain positive despite whatever adversity is thrown our way. Although there are "My Left Foot" stories of people conquering amazing obstacles, we are still up against powerful forces that cause a tragedy to take us out in seconds. As Monty Python said, "always look on the bright side of life." It's the best way to deal with it.

I , being a prophet of God almighty and having my heart enslaved to the forgiveness of my Lord Jesus Christ am saying that we can be of the left hand path , and the right hand path in equal setting !! Can't we be proud of our own creation as our Father in heaven is proud of making us and love the faith and peace of what his son Jesus Christ has taught us all ? I say that evil has entered every mans heart and that while we must be on an individual path we must also be on a path to bring the hearts of all men to the realization of their own eternal salvation through the blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross for us all ! I’ve read that this galaxy is unique because it is one that will eventually achieve an incredible light. To do this it must have both light and dark energy within it. Interesting concept….sort of explains why the dualism is necessary…love listening to your conversations!

As someone whose migrated from Rosicrucian philosophy over to now toward engaging a path with the Qliphoth - I think part of it can be where you sense your inner work is. Particularly with what I just mentioned, working with the shadow or with the Tree of Death, I like what James said about LHP trying to grapple with more immediate 'here and now' concerns, or particularly trying to get your best take on the rules and logic of the physical world. My guess is that if the whole story were to 'be good' (it's still important) there are a lot of ordeals related to power and people's abuse of it, particularly with Darwinian game theory, where you start seeing that relying on good and social convention alone, particularly at times of mass defection rather than cooperation, you start realizing that if you don't build the tools to defend the good that you have in you it can be stripped simply by those around you who have more proclivity to social, economic, and even physical violence. That might be another reason people commonly move leftward on the spectrum, ie. when they either get the sense that the institutions don't have a clue what they're talking about or worse, those institutions and social networks can't protect their members from the outside world which is where you start feeling forced to rely on yourself more and consequently more on intelligences that are willing to aid you rather than quite so much submission. Obviously there are people for whom societal turbulence increases their RHP involvement, Victor Frankl's experience of the concentration camps or Natan Sharansky's re-emersion in Judaism while in gulag come to mind, but I think the factors under such stress which push you in one direction or another are likely both highly personal and highly contingent (ie. 'you're on your own and if you fail it's all on you' - leftward, 'at the mercy of another without recourse' - possibly rightward).

Its easy to get lost when you try and figure it out from a wide range of ideas, and it all depends on what you want to be like. When you see so many things, eventually your going to figure it out, because when the same things keep repeating, and along with others, you can see the meaning behind them. I always wondered why God showed me so many things, and that was to be like him. So someone can get the celestial things which trumps all the other experiences. The path comes from the question posed, the proper entity then comes, most by appointment.

I love James Tunney. I feel that James is opening Jeffrey's mind (as though it could be opened more than it is) to somewhat conservative concepts that may have been dismissed previously. I do not know this. Just a hunch. Mr. Tunney is such a well measured intellectual of the best kind. Hedonism, disillusion, and Ignorance via overly stimulated amygdala's by-way-of bad actors (instigators) is destroying the West, imo. Peace!

I hope this is interesting. it happened to a group of people, not just to me as a witness and participant: In 1981 my handedness changed from right handedness to lefthandededness. The change was apparently caused by a terrible blow to my head when I drove onto a railroad at the end of a street that had a DEAD END sign that directed traffic onto the dead end rather than away from the railroad exchange. A huge pile of rubbish had been removed two days prior to my accident, it was the only street end without a barrier at the street end. Three years after the accident I had neurological tests done and it was only then that I was told my left hand was dominate. I had experiences during the three years between 1981 and 1984 that proved beyond doubt that the change was not caused by the accident, it was just perfectly timed to 'apparently' happen that night. Every event in my life during that phase affected my body in some way but I had begun to read books my psychiatrist had in his office, and reading them made my head feel it would burst. I was forced by an irrresistable inner prompter that told me to 'read the book whether you understand it or not'. By 1985 I had a job at Boeing, I was 52 years old then. I retired in 2009 with two fractured hips and two replaced knees, a right arm bent at the elbow from my having used adding machines of various kinds for so long. By then in my mind I remember thinking I was Athena, born fully grown from a mans' head because I knew what had caused my changed handedness, nothing mystical. it was in bondedness to a man whose internal thought was in his mothers voice. I recognized it because I knew her and had somewhat recognized the influence of the mother and i understood why the family had not individuated out of the father, a task that is not a simple change, it apparently can vary from an encounter with heaven to pure negatives of the kind Swedenborg wrote about the hells.. There are author such as Ouspensky and Gurdjieff and Robert Monroe whose ideas extend 'normal' to another level than the world of appearances' level. Most psychiatrists today know very little about all kinds of mindsets that can become fixed in minds, through bonds that can seem to form one person from two bodies. Or one mind from millions of bodies. Apparently, the scientific Adam cannot see Eve literally is not his body, bone of his bone, flesh of his flesh.... The change created in this body, a kind of microscope, tunnel vision, a lighthouse lke active search light that focussed itself wherever it found some thing it could use to create information elevant to this particular body that it was 'speaking' to, in its self generating language. Every thing was changed when my handedness switched. But every thing was perfectly timed, for decades, every aspect of inner content was reflected, mirrored, heard again, switched so that opposites became useful, then complements, then as Jung wrote, very animus, outraged, contentioned warlike but somehow very good in therir role, like Judas was necessary to Jesus life story..........

I frequently get the feeling that New Thought folks should mostly stay out of discussions about magic until they've been on the inside, and this is more or less one of those cases. Some insight, for which I am grateful, but so many points at which fundamentals are not grasped. Classic example being the difference between malevolent demons and the apotropaic guardians in front of temples and cathedrals, whose fearsome appearances are representing ferocity, not evil.

Another very interesting conversation ,I’d love to contribute some related information It’s interesting the martial arts were developed by monks & nuns for self protection against marauders & invaders .which might have helped the Irish monks or saints & scholars against the vikings & Cromwellian forces! But yes all these things have a spiritual context & many traditions built up around varying ideas on life & living , krishnamurti was the proposed second coming or maitreya Buddha of the theosophists who prepared him for his role as world teacher, he then upon reaching maturity disbanded the whole thing In his truth is a pathless land thing, he gave up all the temptations & trappings of power to travel the world teaching his philosophy, which also relates to the essence of spiritual teachings Jeet kune do was Bruce lees invention of a form without form or fighting without fighting which is the ultimate path when the opponent & opposed become one (win/win) as in the art of war or aikido ‘ the way of harmony’ initiated by sensi ueshiba as in the art of peace work by him There are many books on aikido & its philosophy such as aikido & the harmony of nature But yes there are adversarial forces in the world but they can be countered by positive forces Such as love your enemies, pray for those that persecute you, forgive wrongs or trespasses, resist not evil, let it destroy itself Being ultimately a destructive force which must fail by its own dissolution But this is all applicable to the modern world & playing out of the human drama as we see now The dichotomies ,polarisation, paradoxes & complex nature of human beings & society As it always has been, worth studying the Greeks & the Tao also the I Ching which goes into these areas or laws of change relating to human affairs the state & how to approach the multitudinous changes in life But there is a pattern & divine plan & law in operation behind all the workings of this world & the hard design of the Kosmos or uni verse But opposition makes us stronger through struggle til we attain mastery both over ourselves & therefore our lives You might enjoy also listening to joe Rogans podcasts who deals with big issues too Or Mike Tyson’s philosophy of fighting Also zen was the way of the samurai where relaxation or letting go was key to being prepared for whatever life throws at you rather than fight or flight or freeze reactions which are built into our system We wei means the way of the weak or the feminine or yin concept Which can mean letting go & let god when things get too much for human ability But there is also a law of compensation for every defect can become a source of strength & resilience against the odds as is manifested in many peoples stories especially famous figures like Christy brown Worth checking out too Carl jungs work since he came from a time when the same trends we see now we’re playing out ,the essential Jung is a very powerful collection of his works where he goes into the psychic stratum as he calls it which animated the world & is also incredibly dangerous when it gets outta control as we are seeing now The degenerative & regenerative forces are very much in operation in this world The Ancient Greek god pan of nature was then represented as the degenerated version of man (panic) or devil Or live spelt backwards also relates to eve ill referring to the fall out from the garden of Eden where it all started , worth checking out manly halls work on the subject ,see Brian Scott’s reality revolution KZbin But the whole process of good versus Ill, (dis ease)light versus dark etc is at the root of our culture & it’s interesting the many paradoxes & dichotomies it brings up Such as everything becomes its opposite when it goes too far The law of three or the pendulum effect ..things tend to swing form one extreme to another As in society & politics,thesis..antithesis..to synthesis or a balance point between extremes Which I hope we can be wise enough to reach Also Joseph Campbell has an interesting take on the left hand path as you’ll see if you look it up His advice to follow your bliss or go your own way to his students was very powerful & influential But as with anything there is a drawback or price to pay He later said follow your blisters might be better advice Also the philosopher Ken Wilbur goes into the right & left hand paths in modern psychology & philosophy But there is an element of mystery & divine dichotomy in mysticism, magic & all these traditions The various manifestations of this world all emanating from one source or God The all,all that is,the one infinite oneness of reality from which all form manifests in its varying polarities The yin/yang from the Tao or way of nature ,which if we follow its laws lead to peace & contentment through balance, moderation, self control & discipline ,study & work This material work definitely be the makings of a manuscript or transcript that could possibly funding further work by this project But yes the whole esoteric field of study is riveting & would take many lives to encompass But this contribution of the noosphere of thinkers here can indeed help enlighten & inspire many on whatever path we may chose Basically I think it’s whatever works for you & makes sense in this time of nonsense & confusion But the middle way or golden mean between extremes the path of balance, moderation & peace is the way of uniting heaven & earth in the great work of humanity Also see the work of the gospel of the Essenes which relates to all this in a very profound way links the roots of Christianity out of a Jewish order But yes it would take many lives to figure this all out Looking forward to more discussions

Would be interesting if ye did a vid on what’s happening in the world now & how it relates to all this Particularly what are your thoughts on the great reset proposed by the world economic forum ? It seems to encapsulate a lot of the concerns about where the world is headed if we don’t wake up & affirm our own power ,which is what it’s all about ,the power play of life & various forces at work & play which creates a seeming teeming chaos which has an underlying order , where maybe order can emerge out of chaos but there’s always both ..& the play fight or dance between them Worth looking into other truthseekers work like max igan ,Robert zephyr Sadhguru or Kingsley Dennis But very interesting times we’re living in Also the last Renaissance emerged out of the plague last time around Perhaps this new renaissance of truth, tradition & wisdom can shine the light out of the darkness

I think I read similarly but not so much in embodiment as in what was a given. Jesus could embody, give, and be given love. Lucifer could have all celestial powers in tandem, all but love given to him or from him. This seems counter to biblical accounts which held him as God's favorite and at one time beloved.

When you're speaking about the "left hand path" be it spiritual or political though "evil" tends to show itself more than the opposite, which obviously can be very negative itself. I at one time identified as mostly on the left but with what they are today I can't. They've turned into something that's pretty bad and I think some of even many of them embrace the spiritual left hand path as well and are involved in some very bad acts. I feel that things identified as left hand path should be avoided and abandoned now. I don't believe in the idea of both sides of something having to exist. I don't think you need pain in order for pleasure to exist. You don't need evil to have good. You don't need war to have peace. I think that's a deception and right now on the political spectrum the left embraces deception while the spiritual left hand path has always embraced it. Which would bring me to my final point, we don't need lies for the truth to exist.

You should get Doug Marman to do a show on the light and the dark. I'm sure he could give us some insight on it. There is the broad overview of light and dark and then there is the nitty gritty of personal experience. I was possessed last year the politically correct term these days is entity attachment. Sometimes it won't be a demon but a relative that attaches to you. But in my case it was a demon and when things went south or should I say went to hell!!! TEE HEE! She told me "I'm a mean bitch and I'm here to hurt you" She put me through hell for a 9 months till I figured out what was happening and got her out of my body. Think of a non-stop conversation in your head from the time you wake up till you go to sleep with some intense attacks during the day. I call it the brain squeeze. It was hell. Now she wants to be friends and I don't want it so I get attacked.

"I'm not presenting any of these ideas in a polarizing way" -- Oh, but you are! On first and second listening, I find a lot of what Tunney presents to be deeply offensive. His portrayal of ceremonial magic reminds me of Q conspiracy theories and his examination of the "conjurers" idea of Will seems ignorant or shallow and dishonest. There are many people who see themselves as firmly on the left hand path who see their practices as means to align their will with the Divine Will. Add to that his very positive comments on the authority of the Roman Catholic Church, a deeply troubled institution particularly in the wake of all the horror we have learned about in the widespread psychological, physical and sexual abuse of children, and the whole presentation seems duplicitous and vile. "By their fruit ye shall know them" is a damning metric for the Catholic institutions that Tunney holds up as experts in the realm of spirits, angels and demons. A lot of what people are told by the Abrahamic religions is that they are hated by god and can only be saved if they surrender their bodies and imaginations to priests who represent god... Not "everyone has access" but "you only have access through me" Golden dawn practitioners, for example, call on the tetragrammaton and the many hebrew versions of the Holy Name to power their rituals. The Qabalistic Cross begins and ends with the phrase "Thine is the power and the glory for ever. Amen" Is this held by Tunney as Evil in his Christian context? What difference is there between black and white magic? Which would the eucharist be? Eating the flesh, drinking the blood? Is this not necromancy? How do we place Trithemius, Paracelsus or Heinrich Agrippa? What about Ficino? Are they part of the Western tradition that we want to preserve or not? What about Yeats? A thing I do not like that Tunney does, similar to a rhetorical technique much employed by President Trump, is to strongly assert sweeping generalizations, then quietly add qualifying ideas in weaker language. For example, "All roads, not every one but many of these contemporary applications of the left hand path, lead to Rome and the Rome is transhumanism." On the one hand, this is a Christian fantasy about people "on the other team" -- it makes no sense and has nothing to do with people's actual goals, although there are transhumanists, witches and ceremonial magic folk are not usually among them, unless you take a very non-technological view of transhumanism, but then you get into the thorny question of what exactly is meant by Apotheosis in the orthodox sense? What does it mean when Christians say they are adopted children of God and members of one body? On the one hand, Tunney seems to credit the complexity of the spiritual lives people lead through the ideas of the left hand path, and on the other hand he seems to want to put them all in a cheesy Christian fantasy about the wicked people who are playing for the devil's side. If we all come from the same source, can begin to try not to demonize each other?

No. You know it's possible to see anything you want to see and most people see what they see through their *own* filters. You clearly fashion yourself as a great detective of conspiracy theories. Look at it that way. You want to see all this stuff and there it is right before your eyes. And I'm not getting into the weeds with you but for example cultures that actively engage with death and the dead in various ways have many reasons for doing so. It's normal and healthy and unrepressed to understand that life doesn't exist outside of the context of death. That awareness of our inevitable end at any second is what brings us into the present, what gives meaning and preciousness to our lives. And I could say so much more. All religions have some story about the "afterlife" -- some may have angels with wings so they make dead bodies look like virginal young ladies or children, other cultures actively separate the body from the "soul" if you will, some cultures seek connection with "the other side" (Dr. Mishlove has some interest in this). Yin and Yang are undeniable in a symbolic way and it is childish to call this evil or deny it but yin and yang are part of a larger whole. When Krishna tells Arjuna to do his duty and fight he is speaking about Karma. I'm not going to define karma because it's a very subtle thing that almost no one understands -- it's not an eye for an eye AT ALL. My point is that you have brought a point of view with you and you're seeking to fit someone else's words into it and USE it for your own self aggrandizement to show off how smart you are and how paranoid and how you can "see through" everything. I would say you can take that acumen and turn it on yourself. As the guest tries to allude to in many ways the wholeness of what is does exist within you and you can reflect whatever aspects of that wholeness you find and cultivate. You're way too self assured, simplistic and you;'ve boiled down everything to scum in the bottom of the pot. Your concluding remark was pure Hallmark. After you finish demonizing Trump, haha. ps it's time for everyone to go cold turkey on Trump. I mean this. The whole world grabbed on to him as a touchstone for everything because he is low and gross and ignorant and sitting in the kings chair and what does that mean? It means that everyone on earth can look at him and revel in their own superiority. Depressing that people look so far down to find something they can compare themselves to which makes them come out ON TOP.

@@garypuckettmuse Thanks for the judgment. Nota Bene: I did not demonize Trump but mentioned that he does the same thing that Tunney does with rhetoric like "They're not sending us their best..." later modified by "and some, I assume, are good people." But you will see what you want in that, as you have. In passing I'll mention that I am reacting here not just to this interview but also to the interviews on "Conjuring" kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKWqpGeLrqlqY8U&ab_channel=NewThinkingAllowedwithJeffreyMishlove and "Magic Words and the Power of Language" kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnPQZ6hpdq2iasU&ab_channel=NewThinkingAllowedwithJeffreyMishlove I guess Hallmark was supposed to be an insult. It's not special to Tunney or that slob whose name I won't mention because he's not an example of anything but an empty baggy suit. Modern "Western Culture" was created after AD 400 by the Holy Roman Emperors, who destroyed thousands of years of Pagan Western Culture that produced the most amazing Architecture that still exists. So what culture is 'our' culture. What our Ancestors created in their own land, or what was imposed by Papal Armies and burned alive on pyres?
