Excellent video Alex. Your camera angles and cut-in, and back shots are very well done. The way you showed how "The wrong way" is so much harder is awesome too, also you mentioned how if you make too big of a loop while sending the ropes up and over the beam, it might hit whatever is above it. Lots of folks don't understand the arc and curves involved with this rope flipping technique. This takes practice. You can also use a "Flip stick" to send the loop(s) up higher, the higher the beam is, the more the loops you sent up with the flipping method, the more the loops lose their size. Thank you again for the detailed explanation as to why you chose the pulleys. Top-quality gear is the only way, if someone skimps on price and buys some cheap junk, then it's a big risk, that really is not worth it. Jim H.

@@TheRopeAccessChannel I don't think you will find it. It's a 1/2" diameter rod that's about 3 feet long that you make a half hitch on the end of the stick, and then send the loop of rope up with the same motion you would use if flipping it by hand. The curve/arc you create in the rope will go much higher,, and depending on what size loop you send up, will make the crescent at the beam whatever size, (small or large). It's mostly used by arborists, I will check on where to get you a PHOTO OR A DEMO VIDEO. jIM

@@aerialrescuesolutions3277 Well, you were right haha. I did not find it. Apparantly a flipstick is a sort of collapsible can you can flip out and sit on haha. I get the priciple though and it makes total sense👍🏻

Hi bro How to use tap sling when we need climbing 4 inch vertical pipe
@TheRopeAccessChannel
@TheRopeAccessChannel 8 ай бұрын
Ask your level 3. He or someone should make a good risk assessment…. It is always a tricky bit and I don’t know the situation. Don’t do what I tell you and maybe this will work…. Get a long sling. Like 240cm and choke that multiple times, or create a prussik knot with it. If you load it it should not slip. Don’t ask me how I know…… Oh and get a few because one is not enough.. Seriously, If you have to ask this question, you should probably find someone to do it for you ..

Can I ask if using a single climbing rope is not introducing a single point of failure? If the single blue rope were to break on either main or backup strand would that not be instant death? If not why not? Is it possible to do retrievable rigging with two separate ropes, one for backup and the other the main climbing rope? Everything I have seen so far uses a single rope.

In essence I’m splitting the rope and creating two separate ropes. You can do this with two separate ropes as well

Thanks again Alex for the amazing rope access material, i practised this today but I wanted to combine it with aid climbing but my protecting straps ( you steel straps ) was to long and I could not reach the beam to start the aid climbing as I could not accend higher. Should I just use shorter protecting straps ot is there a way for me to accend more to reach the beam.
@TheRopeAccessChannel
@TheRopeAccessChannel Жыл бұрын
Thank you :-)! Short steel slings would be the best. There are different solutions that may or may not give some people a heart attack. Depending on the beam, and how sharp it is, you can throw a piece of rope over and use that to climb up a bit more. Sometimes a Grillon works. Stay in your descender and backup, just use a 3rd point temporarily to climb a little higher. I am talking a little, not ascent 2 meters higher. Limit your fall distance. Always.! I know this is not something to explain in a comment like this because we are walking a very thin line between ok and not so ok.. Stay safe!

Hi may I to asking. If I don't have the wire rope sling can I use tabular sling or flat sling. Thank you
@TheRopeAccessChannel
@TheRopeAccessChannel Жыл бұрын
Well if the reason for choosing this method is that the edges are “sharp” than I would say not. Textile is textile and doesn’t like sharp things. There are many solutions. Maybe when protecting the slings with extra rope protection. It is up to you.

@@VisinskiRadoviBeograd That these brands do recalls is a sign of quality control. The problem with a no-name product simply is that nobody knows if there is quality control and whether it will be for the next charge.
