"If you're thinking about upgrading and you simply don't know what you want, You don't need to upgrade yet." yes this!
@cccycling5835
@cccycling5835 4 жыл бұрын
I’ve been simply replacing parts on my Fuji Track as they break or make the ride painful. My first upgrade was a Specialized seat to replace the terrible stock one. Then cogs and pedals. Recently I blew through the Lasco crank arms and ate it so I swapped out the cranks and BB with SRAM Omniums. If I ever break the wheels they’ll get a DT Swiss track upgrade, but at the moment the bike is great. Commuting every day certainly takes its toll on weak bike parts.

This comment is super old I know but did you by chance do the butt measuring thing that specialized offers in their stores before buying a seat? I've been heavily considering a specialized seat because they seem to have a pretty clear cut system to find a seat that'll not destroy my gooch and after getting literal bruises from my nightmare leather san marco I'm willing to pay just about anything for a good seat

My top tip is to own a frameset which is not worthy of parts you can't afford. I feel less inclined to upgrade my groupset or wheels on my road bike as they will be out of place on a basic frame. I have to admit, though, that a frameset can make or break a bike and custom paint jobs are very cool, so if you have the money to invest down the line then pay for a solid frame first.

With my research, in my area of my country, there was only ONE bicycle available, as far as the specifications I was looking for. But I also mean that literally, there was only 1 make and model and it was also actually the last one at the only store in my whole area of the country (that I could drive to). It had been sitting there for the past 9 months, and it was exactly in my rather common 6 foot size. Wild stuff. It's the Fuji Feather if anyone was curious.

The next one is the UNO 7. I have a 17° stem that's 130mm and it weighs in at 125Grams with all 6 screws. Price is reasonable. Again if you want you can polish off the graphics with a magic eraser, or some compound.

Why not get the stem with the 31.8 clamp since you're planning to get drop bars anyway? Just get 31.8 drop bars after you buy the stem.
@RuezgaDaniel
@RuezgaDaniel 4 жыл бұрын
@BeboSaab In the video he said he found the exact stem he wanted, but they only offer it in 31.8. Instead, he found 3 stems in his desired diameter, but he didn't seem happy with the way they looked. It would make more sense for him to buy the stem he likes and just buy the drop bars in 31.8.
@RuezgaDaniel
@RuezgaDaniel 4 жыл бұрын
@BeboSaab I'm not trying to argue which ones are better. Please understand that I'm just saying that getting the stem he likes and having to get 31.8 handlebars is not that big of a deal. Have a good one.
@psychoaiko666

Zach had drops mounted on Wallace, the riser is still pretty new. Both bars are original Wabi parts, he ordered Wallace with both bars, because at the time he wasn't sure which one he wanted and so he could always change it on the dime.

@BeboSaab not a pothead, also not a 60yo junk bike. I ride a Bianchi. And I don't smoke, don't drink and don't do drugs. Look pal, if you think I'm talking outta my ass, than go right ahead. I know what I said to be true. Besides, 600 pounds? That's approaching Robert Förstemann levels! Were you a gold medal track cyclist?
@voiceofreason9780
@voiceofreason9780 4 жыл бұрын
@BeboSaab Agreed. The idea of a 130lb manlet who thinks 400 lbs on a leg-press machine is impressive made me chuckle. Most likely scenario is abuse. Probably riding down stairs, hopping curbs and doesn't bother to unweight over pot-holes and other obstacles. I also agree with you about the spoke count. Rim profile/construction is also important. Velocity's "deep V" is borderline indestructible with a high spoke count. Hit a car once while rolling on Deep V's. The front wheel made contact with enough force to partially collapse both top and down tubes. Wheel itself didn't go one millimeter out of true. Threw everything on a new frame and off I went.
