irene c same I remember I was with someone I said I’d like to go in so we went in then we looked at the information it had things about the bells on it I said I wonder what they sound like then they started ringing lol and they let me ring the turret bell

Sounds like someone running at the side of iron railings with a walking sticking rubbing along them.

apart from the fact they are a 16 I think they sound like Bow. I have heard the back 12 and they do sound like bow.

steven rowe I totally agree. I rang a peal on the back 12 in February and thought all the way through they sound like Bow. But they are much easier than Bow!

My dad hung bow with Bill Theobald. i love the sound of bow I remember going up there with him, I wax only 8. i do think Taylor tenors sound better, they seem to havd more breath in them and dad agreed. He had a saying Tay!ors for tenors and whitechapel for trebles. I think taylor light bels are more mellow where as Whitechapel sing out. No doubt if you looked in the visitors book at Maidstone from the 60s you would see his name EJ Rowe and the home tower of St Anns Stamford Hill Im sure I rang there too i. 1965 at the foundry outing

They must be an absolute, sod, to ring alongside 15 other ringers when your bell sounds every 1 .5 seconds or so.1
