"I was just stunned by the show. How it was put together. They did not let a single thing slide." Really? What did you think about Arondir being left for dead after being stabbed by Adar on the battlefield and healed off screen to full health by the next episode? I mean, most people frown at milking a death scene and have the character brought back by some plot magic but here there's nothing, he's just back. Did you miss the day when they talked about continuity in writing class just like these writers must have?

@@bring-out that quote was referring to the craft of the series, the cinematography, sets, costumes, all that stuff. I say later on that the plot lines were battling for enough time, and stuff like Arondir’s magic recovery (although not covered in the video) is very much victim of those structural issues. The things that don’t miss a beat, that don’t slide, are how it’s made. Of course there are issues elsewhere

This was a super fun podcast to listen to! Personally I though rings of power season 2 was a enjoyable watch, it wasn’t perfect and it definitely improved as the season went along, but I loved the cast and characters, and you could really feel the magnitude of the story they were telling! The dwarfs were great, and it was very fun getting to experience more of their way of life and experience how they work. I found the elves really exciting and I think they’re done well, and it’s interesting how we see Galadriel as this warrior/fighter, and the true power she has. I do think there were definitely issues with the numerous storylines, as it felt like big gaps between stories, so it will be interesting how this all collide in later seasons. This season again looked incredible, and no matter your opinions on the story, you can not discredit how fantastic this show looks, from the costumes, the the sets, to the elvish looking actors!

@@nascarrf22 I’ve read all Lord of the Rings books and The Hobbit, and John’s currently reading the Silmarillion as he says in the video, so neither of us pretend to be the most knowledgeable of the lore, but at the same time I’m completely fine with the show doing its own thing. I’m not coming to this for a straightforward completely accurate adaptation, as that feels less interesting to me. Much like the 6 Middle Earth movies, I like how it changes things to make what I think is something more dramatic and exciting. Season 2 was spot on with Sauron-Celebrimbor and the dwarves. Pure gold. For the other stuff I felt there was a waste of screentime, with the hobbits, galadriel. Numenor was left with too little, which is a pitty because there is so much to cover. Overall the battles were underwhelming for a second season, which is a let down. Although they did good with fleshing out the settlements and locations, you dont see alot of people in them, we need more people, more civilians, more soldiers, epic battle lines and so on. Overall a mixed bag for me, some things I loved, some things were a complete let down.
@TheOutatimeFilmPodcast
@TheOutatimeFilmPodcast 5 күн бұрын
@@GeorgeMasterclass yeah that’s very fair. I was really disappointed by the structure of the season, as I said in the video, I felt like some things should’ve had more screentime. As you say, Númenor is a big one, I too wanted more screentime from them. I think if Sauron goes to Númenor next season, we’ll see that get more of the spotlight, much like how Celebrimbor and Eregion got more this season than the first. I’m interested to see how the Harfoot stuff will eventually become more integrated into the main plot line, since that’s the thread that has felt the most separate so far. I think as the story gets larger, so will things like the battles and crowds. I did love the seige of Eregion though, that absolutely made up for the lesser number of battles throughout. The way that built tension and converged four storylines was amazing to witness, I can’t wait to see the eventual seige of Lindon too

I assume the irony is lost on you due to your age, so let me give you some advice: You clearly try to be successful on KZbin for years and fail to do so except for some additional clicks when you time your videos with its controversial source material like this one (thanks, KZbin algorithm). The reason for that is because when you do nothing but react to standardized pop culture, you either have to have good or original content (e.g. being able to objectively rate/discuss movies, be funny, original or know how to convey your opinion) or (because this is social media) ingratiate yourselves into the extreme ends of the fandom by either hating something because it's too woke or because it's not woke enough. Not doing this is the only upside I can find on this channel. LOOOOOOOL!!! That's some ULTIMATE COPE! Now, I used to be a big proponent of Season 1 as I originally gave it a 7/10. After a few more viewings, it dropped and stayed at a 5/10. What drove it down was literally how horrendous the dialogue was and the additional plot holes that became evident. Season 2 is FAR worse. The writing is atrocious, they're still putting stuff that shouldn't be in the 2nd Age in this story, the Dwarven Rings LITERALLY don't work the way as portrayed in this travesty, horses aren't gods of combat, and the Elves are LITERALLY just whinier versions of Humans. Oh, and as bad as Galadriel was in S1, which I forgave much of it as having a Psych background I could see what they were doing with her character (still terrible writing though), she was far worse in S2. That's why all of the writers except one got canned for S3+. Seriously, get perspective and stop fanboying.
