If you work righteousness, you work righteousness for yourselves; and if you commit evil, you do so against yourselves. Then, when the second promise comes true, they will make your faces filled with sorrow, and enter the Temple as they entered it the first time, and utterly destroy all that falls into their power. 8. Perhaps your Lord will have mercy on you. But if you revert, We will revert. We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers. 9. This Quran guides to what is most upright; and it gives good news to the believers who do good deeds, that they will have a great reward. 10. And those who do not believe in the Hereafter-We have prepared for them a painful punishment.

In Al-Quran (sura 17, verse 4), the phrase “latufsidunna-fil-ardi-marratayni-walatalunna-uluwwan-kabiran” translates as “surely you will cause corruption in the earth twice and surely you will reach exaltedness great”. It may mean the Children of Israel attains the level of world’s superpower (“uluwwan-kabiran”) twice but they use their strengths to cause corruption in the earth. THE FIRST ULUWWAN-KABIRAN (GREAT EXALTEDNESS) NOTE: The corruption must have begun only after the reign of Prophet Suleiman (as) aka King Solomon, i.e. after 10th century BC. In Al-Quran (sura 17, verse 5), the phrase “ibadan-lana” that translates as “servants of Ours” (which means they were law abiding monotheists, i.e. Muslims) may refer to the armies of Neo-Assyrian empire and later Neo-Babylonian (Chaldean) empire. An internal revolt by its Chaldean population gave birth to the Neo-Babylonian (Chaldean) empire and ended the Neo-Assyrian empire (For comparison, an internal revolt gave birth to the Abbasid empire and ended the Umayyad empire). NOTE: Based on historical evidences, the Neo-Assyrian empire practiced monotheism, believe in The One God: ( www.aina.org/articles/miaa.pdf ). Likewise, the Neo-Babylonian (Chaldean) empire also practiced monotheism, believe in The One God: ( www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/W_-47406 ). However, many historians may have wrongly accused the Neo-Assyrian and the Neo-Babylonian (Chaldean) empires of practicing polytheism as those historians erroneously assumed "attributes of The One God" as "other Gods” (For comparison, Ar-Rahman and Ar-Rahim are among the many "attributes of Allah (The One God)" and are not "other Gods"). In Al-Quran (sura 17, verse 5), the phrase “uli-basin-shadidin” translates as “those of great military might”. In this regard, it is a widely known historical fact that the Neo-Assyrians (and later Neo-Babylonians) were very strong, successful and innovative militarily (e.g. the world's first professional standing army: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3Tdg5ibi7yJnNE ). In fact, the Neo-Assyrians created the largest empire than any other in human history that had come before it. In Al-Quran (sura 17, verse 5), the phrase “fajasu-khilalad-diyari” that translates as “and they entered the inner most part (of) the homes” was possibly in reference to a generational event that began during the reign of Tiglath-Pileser III (subjugation of the Kingdom of Israel) and continued by Sargon II (demise of the Kingdom of Israel in 720 BC) as well as Sennacherib (subjugation of the Kingdom of Judah) and ended more than a century later under the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II (demise of the Kingdom of Judah in 586 BC; they entered the Masjid [Al-Aqsa sacred land perimeter] and destroyed what [man-made Temple structure] they had conquered (with) destruction). THE SECOND ULUWWAN-KABIRAN (GREAT EXALTEDNESS) In Al-Quran (sura 17, verse 6), the phrase “al-karata-alayhim” translates as “the return victory over them”. It is possibly in reference to a generational event that began with the 1917-18 military invasion of Palestine by [the Christian/British empire forces on behalf of] the World Jewry (“the return victory”) against the Muslims/Ottoman empire (“over them”, i.e. over servants of Ours). In Al-Quran (sura 17, verse 7), the phrase “liyadkhulul-masjida-kama-dakhaluhu-awwala-marratin-waliyutabbiru-ma-alaw-tatbiran” translates as “to enter the Masjid, just as they (had) entered it first time, and to destroy what they had conquered (with) destruction”. In regard above, sometimes in the future, a group of “ibadan-lana” (i.e. servants of Ours) may enter the Masjid [Al-Aqsa sacred land perimeter] and destroy what [man-made Temple structure] they had conquered (with) destruction, just as they (i.e. servants of Ours, namely Nebuchadnezzar II and his army) had entered it more than twenty-six centuries ago. Based on emerging circumstances, the Republic of Turkey may possibly be the awaited “ibadan-lana” (i.e. servants of Ours). Moreover, based on current and prospective technological developments in the military front, the Republic of Turkey may well be on its way to become “uli-basin-shadidin” which translates as “those of great military might” within the next decades. On another note, basing on a Sahih Muslim hadith ( youtu.be/S0W7gH\_JEpU ), the Republic of Turkey may also turn out to be The Third (Victorious) Army. Wallahu A’lam.

Don’t leave Istighfar A man once came to al-Hasan al-Basri and complained to him: “The sky does not shower us with rain.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness (i.e. say أستغفر ألله).” Then another person came to him and said, “I complain of poverty.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.” Then another person came to him and complained, “My wife is barren; she cannot bear children.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.” The people who were present, said to al-Hasan: “Everytime a person came to you complaining, you instructed them to seek Allah’s forgiveness?” Al-Hasan al-Basri said, “Have you not read the statement of Allah? ‘I said “Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Truly He is Oft-Forgiving. He will send rain to you in abundance; increase you in wealth and children; grant you gardens and bestow on you rivers.”‘” [Nuh (71):10-12] There are two things in the earth that give a person safety and security from the punishment of Allah. The first has been removed, whilst the second still remains. As for the first, it was the Messenger of Allah (صلي ألله عليه و سلم).“Allah would not punish them while you were among them.” [al-Anfal (8):33] As for the second, it is istighfar. “Allah would not punish them as long as they sought forgiveness.” [al-Anfal (8):33]أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله… Do not ever leave istighfar! Please share and remember that you will receive the reward for all those who make istighfar, due to your reminder. Astaghfirullaaha wa 'atoobu 'ilayhi. I seek the forgiveness of Allah and repent to Him. (Recite one hundred times in Arabic during the day) It is reported in Saheeh Muslim that Prophet Muhammad SAWS said: “I seek forgiveness one hundred times in a day.” [Muslim] Dua for seeking forgiveness: Dua of Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him) Rabbana thalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfirlana watar hamna lana koonanna minal khasireen [7:23] ''Our Lord ! we have sinned against ourselves and unless You grant us forgiveness and bestow Your mercy upon us, we shall most certainly be lost'' رَبَّنا ظَلَمنا أَنفُسَنا وَإِن لَم تَغفِر لَنا وَتَرحَمنا لَنَكونَنَّ مِنَ الخٰسِرينَ [SURAH AL-A`RAF, VERSE 23] Dua of Yunus (A.S) repenting to Allah in the belly of the whale: "LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANTA SUBHAANAKA INNY KUNTU MINATHAULIMEEN" [Al-'Anbya' : 87] “There is none worthy of worship except You. You are pure. Verily I am amongst the oppressors.” [21:87] The Prophet (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said about the Invocation of Yunus "None who is experiencing difficulty employs it except that Allah would relieve him of his difficulty." [At-Tirmidhi] Nooh (A.S) asked for the forgiveness of Allaah The Almighty, repenting Rabbi Inneee A-o’od’u Bika An As-alaka Maa Laysa Lee Bihee I’lm Wa Illaa Taghfirlee Wa Tarh’amneee Akum Minal Khaasireen [11:47] "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers." (Surat Hūd, 11: 47) We must recite this dua’a to have full faith in the wisdom of Allah under all good and bad circumstances because Allah is all-knowing; and humbly seek His help to keep ourselves on the right path. Say: Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun, tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni (O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me). Say: Astaghfirullah al-ladhi la ilaha illa huwal hayyul qayyum wa atubu ilayhi It says in hadith, whoever says it seven times his sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield. Say: Subhan Allah wa bhihamdihi Whoever says it hundred times, his sins will be forgiven though they may be as much as the foam of the sea. Say: La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah lahul mulku wa lahaul hamdu wa huwa ala kuli shay’in qadeer. And say the many other forms of repentance that are prescribed by Allah. "Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran wa la ya'ghfirudh dhunuuba illa anta fa'ghfir li ma'ghfiratan min ‘indika warhamni innaka antal ‘ghafurur rahim." Translation : "O Allah, I have greatly wronged myself and You alone can forgive sins, so grant me forgiveness from you and have mercy on me. You are the forgiving and Merciful One. Allahumm-aghfir li, warhamni, wa-hdini, wa 'afini, warzuqni" O Allah! Forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, guard me against harm and provide me with sustenance and salvation." [Muslim] ALLAH HAS FULL ABILITY TO GIVE YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT! AND ONLY HE (SWT) HAS THAT ABILITY. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Verily your Lord is Generous and Shy. If His servant raises his hands to Him (in supplication) He becomes shy to return them empty.” [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi]

It would be great if scholars would translate the key words like Lauhul Mahfuz or Firaun or many other. Of course, I can google it, when I know how to write the word . But unfortunately not always I know how to write the word and can‘t find it. When I pause the video and research online, it takes me away from the whole lecture and I‘m busy with something else - the research. It would be just nice if you could use the translation right in the lecture. It‘s not difficult for the scholars but gives so much to those who listen and learn.

@@shekishral6570 Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, you’re wrong. Not every Muslim grows up with Arab words. In my language, we use Arabic words but not many. Words like pharao or eternal plate we translate. There are also people who are not Muslims and learn about Islam. Muslims can show a bit patience and don’t have to be annoyed. In the end, it’s religion and the lectures aren’t only for those who is familiar with the vocabulary. But since we are humans and not perfect, it’s possible to write in subtitles the word and the Arab names if they are important in the context. And we can google them online. Otherwise I personally can’t spell them and can’t research or translate.

@Human Being I agree. It would be great to include translation of the Arabic terms, even for Muslims, because many many of the Muslims don't even know the terms. Those who seek to understand religion seriously would know them deeply. But as a matter of fact, dare I say that MANY of the Muslims (if not "most" of them) still take the religion as a few rituals, and basic faith in Allah and the Messenger (s.a.w.), and don't go beyond it to further seek true knowledge.

You said that the second temple was built by Herod. It was actually built when after the Persians conquered the land, Cyrus permitted the Jews to return from their exile and to rebuild the temple. It was this second temple that was enlarged centuries later by Herod. You also imply that according to 'many modern scholars' the Muslims are meant when the Quran talks of the taking over of the land. But the Muslims took Palestine, peacefully, from the Christians, not the Jews, who had been expelled from the land by the Romans and were not permitted to return. Also, there was no masjid (temple) for the Muslims to enter when they came to Palestine, and they did not enter any homes either. Such an interpretation is totally contrary to history and also against the Quran.

As I know a bit of both history and the Quran and have written a research based book on key issues concerning the relations of the three Abrahamic faiths, with many references from Jewish and Christian texts, I feel that I should point out any errors, whether of fact or interpretation. All the previous interpretations were correct. You could discern in the verse, Allah made it open-ended that it will continue to repeat itself ("If you go back to your previous ways, We will return to our Punishment of you") until Allah himself decides it's over. So, the first conquest of the Bani Israel has happened in ancient times, the second has equally happened. I would even argue it has repeated 4/5 times in History and this is the 5/6 one. It is merely repeating again. Allah causes things to repeat in 2s if you can be discerning.

With respect, the "modern" scholars reinterpreting the Quran regarding sura Isra 17:7 are wrong. Modern Israel is essentially a "Crusader colony". It is funded and defended and formed by the Christian West. Instead of being populated by European Christian missionaries, colonists, and Crusaders as they did during the Crusades, this time it is populated by Jews, many European Jews and Jews from the Muslim lands, who have a closer affinity to the land than the former Crusader colonists. They always wanted to return to Europe and required long term financing and logistical support. Modern Israel is a Crusader colony that is self sustaining. This way, the West have interjected themselves into the heart of the Muslim world and Holy land to uphold their worldview and international order. Muslims have been trained, educated, and brainwashed to accept Western powers, their laws, their worldview, and so turn them for justice and equity when it comes to Israel. But they are the cause of all this. And modern Israel is their manifestation, NOT A FULFILLMENT AND BLESSING FROM ALLAH. it is Zionist, not Belief. As long as Muslims do so, going to the Tawaghit, they will be shamed, humiliated, defeated.

I think Sheikh Yasir needs to look at this again closely. The Temple in Jerusalem was totally destroyed twice, first by the Babylonians and restored by Cyrus through Ezra, and then by the Romans in 70 CE, the Jews being exiled both times. The invaders entered it by force and razed it to the ground. In both cases the same words are used, و اذا جاء الوعد depicting the past and کما دخلوہ اول مرة referring to the second devastation that came about soon after Jesus. At no time did the Muslims enter the Temple at all, much less by force, as it did not exist then. In the lecture, the most crucial part of the surah has been overlooked. It relates to the future وَ اِن عُدتم عُدنا ۔ which means that if you repeat your earlier actions, We (ie God) shall repeat whatever happened to you earlier. This shows that the Temple will be re-built and the Jews will behave as before, causing فساد or transgression in the land, with the false mesiah - the anti-christ or دجٌال - as their leader, and will then be annihilated totally. I request Sheikh Yasir to ponder over this aspect.

It doesn’t say the second time is in the past whereas the first one is explicitly mentioned it has happened. The Quran also talks about power not the destruction of temple. Israel didn't have the same type of power after the first one. Also Allah explicitly says it was decreed Israel shall cause fasad 2 times. Not 3. By your interpretation you are contradicting the quran (not saying you are kafir or anything). It is always good to be open for new interpretations when the circumstances allow us to like in this situation.
