Adam west got his chance at stardom and took every advantage of it but little did he know it would also be his downfall. Please note: The original Network was ABC not CBS as stated in the video.

Adam West would've been 93 this year and he was my favorite person to play Batman in the 60's and RIP Adam West 1928-2017

I met Adam West at the Chiller Theater convention in New Jersey , all I can say about Adam West is a first class gentleman took his time to sign every picture and made sure he took pictures with fans and answered practically every question fans were asking him . He told a funny story about he and Burt ward took the batmobile out on Halloween 🎃 dressed as Batman and robin freaking out kids and trick or treating .

I miss the voices of old stars. Adam West, Leonard Nimoy, Yul Brynner, Robert Mitchum and Lorne Greene had beatiful timbres in their voices.

I directed Adam in 'Omega Cop'. He was happy, fun and wrote the opening ecology speech on his own, which he performed. He also came up with ideas for scenes that he wasn't in. When I was worried about getting a performance out of an amateur actress, Adam asked if he could direct her. He got a good performance out of her for the climax of the movie.

The Batman tv series was campy, corny, weird and delightful. I have the same great childhood memories with this show as I did Adventures of Superman with George Reeves.

Batman adopted his no kill policy due to editorial decisions at DC comics in 1941 not because of Wertham’s book. That book marked the end of the golden age of comics but DC would launch the silver age 2 years later when they revamped and relaunched the Flash.

The show Batman was on ABC, and not CBS. CBS was on a ratings high with those Hayseed comedies. ABC was a relatively new network with low ratings.

All the new shows in ABC's 1965 fall schedule tanked. ABC had originally planned to release the Batman TV series in the fall of 1966 to take advantage of the Batman movie release in the summer of 1966. Due to the failure of all their 1965 fall schedule shows ABC released Batman in January 1966.

In addition to the errors as previously noted (CBS, really???), you note how Adam West rejuvenated his career after appearing as a guest on talk shows such as David Letterman. Followed up by mentioning him on shows such as 'Love American Style', 'Love Boat', and others, which clearly pre-dated him appearing on David Letterman's Late Night show.

"Audrey, suffering from depression and alcoholism, would even go as far to tell Adam that she blamed his birth for her losing her shot at fame. A very hard thing for a young man to have to live with, knowing that your own mother thought you were a curse instead of a blessing." I wouldn't blame Adam for that. If anything, she should blame HERSELF for it, as she CHOSE to give up her fame in order to care for her family. Actually-- You know what? She should've just used her fame to take care of her family. So if anything, it's HER OWN FAULT for choosing that fate. Adam should've severed all contact with his mother.

The Batman television series originally aired on WABC TV not WCBS TV! Holy error in narration Batman! Originally aired twice a week in two parts. Weds. night's at seven and then Thurs. night's at seven on WABC TV channel 7 here in NYC. Since the original airing it has been on various stations in syndication to this very day. Holy endurance Batman! Holy evergreen. As a "footnote" CBS TV was all set to continue airing the series after ABC canceled the show but because the sets were torn down they then decided not to continue the series as originally plained! Holy demise Batman that's the way the sets crumble.

I just don't think Batman was a Lyle Waggoner character that would be accepted. It really was West's part.

I agree. I have been trying to picture Lyle Waggoner as batman and just cant see how he was preferred at first.
@markseay49303 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Long before I learned Wagoner had been considered for the role, I was struck by how much he reminded me of Bruce Wayne. He was also naturally buff and would have been able to handle humor side of the character. My point will never be proven but I'm standing by my opinion

Next door was a restaurant called the luau and one night when I was working Adam west stumbled out of the restaurant and walked over to me as I was going to get a car, he was very drunk but very nice and he held out his hand and he said hi my name is Adam west what’s your name but I told him my name I asked him if he needed any help and he said no so I went to go get my car and I guess he left I didn’t see him after that.This was probably 1973
