You know, geopolitically, I think it's fair to say that when the West or the US gets involved in the Middle East, it's primarily for self-interest. We are not an honest broker whatsoever, never have been & the honest broker numbers are dwindling, especially nowadays. For all the fighting, it seems that negotiations to at least contain the destruction is virtually non-existent, let alone provide guidelines or an armistice or even a temporary solution for going forward with humanitarian responsesare tended to. This can be said in Ukraine/Russia as well. For all these organizations talk ,much like the failed League of Nations, the United Nations and Nato are largely their to mopp up afterward, it seems. As a Westerner, this can't be overlooked. Comments up or down always welcome. Thanks ever much

I won't disagree with your points but if the largest democracy in the world wasn't the super power, Every democracy in the world would be at risk from invasion of Russia or China or whatever crazy dictator decides he wants what we have. America is very flawed and its policies globally are very flawed at times, but it the lesser of most evils. I'm Canadian and if USA wasn't our neighbor, for sure we'd be Russian by now.

While I understand that Gaddafi was absolutely an authoritarian leader who repressed opposition, classifying the quality of life under his rule as poor (or poorer than it was before) is simply not true. Under Muammar Gaddafi per capita income actually rose, and as you did mention, there was free healthcare, housing, and education, not to mention giving a small percentage of oil profits to each Libyan, free electricity and leaving the country with no IMF debt, all of this would lead to Libya having a very high standard of living for an African country. Honestly despite his repressive policies I can see why many supported/miss him. people generally care more about being able to afford their necessities and having a little extra money than having political freedom

Interesting, but many things are fast swept under the carpet. For example, if Libya was meddling into Chad's affairs in the eighties, so was France. And crooked Sarkozy was so very keen on putting Gaddafi out of the picture in 2011 because the Libyan dictator had a story to tell about the financing of Sarkozy's presidential campaign.

I read about this guy on Wiki and he looks like a good leader. He made Libta have the highest HDI in Africa, increased their GDP(at a point it was more than the USA), and gave women equal pay and eights with men. However, there was unemployment and a labor shortage, political freedom problem(well duh, he's a dictator) and a housing problem, which caused the first protests that led Libya to where they are today. Je sounds better than most African leaders today, and I say this as a Nigerian

And continued until the fall of the caliphate in 1922. But ignorant little people like you blame the Jews, when in reality, the troubles in this area began around 610ad, FFS, Shia and Sunni Muslims have been fighting each other since the death of Mohammad...and when not killing each other over whom should lead the cult of Islam, are fighting everyone else in the name of Allah.

Mammonism is the direct opposite of socialism. Socialism, conceived as the highest moral idea, as the idea that man is not in the world only for himself alone, that every man has duties toward the community, toward all humanity, and that he is not only responsible for the momentary wellbeing of his family, of the members of his tribe, of his folk, but that he also has unshakable moral obligations toward the future of his children and his folk. More concretely, we must see Mammonism as the conscious collusion of the power-hungry big capitalists of all peoples. Noteworthy in this has always been the hidden arrival of Mammonism. The big tycoons lurk indeed as the ultimate driving force behind world encompassing Anglo-American imperialism,

Americans hate they're own government too. It's not the people, it's the US government. And it's about to change in January. For the better.

Yes im a Christian. The Lord Jesus in no way taught the killing of anyone, ever. We pray for our enemy, or we are not Christian.

Why
@Theouterrim77
@Theouterrim77 Ай бұрын
@kfork814 Israel pulled its army and 9000 residents out of Gaza in 2005, and the Palestinians response ? They voted Hamas into power and proceeded to fire over 65,000 rockets, mortars and incendiaries indiscriminately at Israeli civilian areas, and the Oct 7th atrocities crossed all red lines. For 8 months from 2005 into 2006 there was no blockade against Hamas by Israel and Egypt. This chain of events which basically made a failed Palestinian state has left Israelis with the profound realization that land for peace with Palestinians is not a simple solution.

This so-called documentary. so one sided and biased that it does not pass the test of being a historical Biographical documentary. Its a pro-western anti Gaddafi hit piece. It is really disappointing.

Yes he’s evil but what he was able to accomplish in his life is amazing. He went from a nothing to dictating an entire country in a place and time where people didn’t move up in class or government at all. Most people in his position wouldn’t even think it was something possible.
