The downfall was mostly caused because of lack of updates and the fact that defaultio didn't want to update any of it. It was pretty unique compared to other tycoons but other games such as blox fruits took most of the popularity. All the updates revolved around trading like new axes or gifts to trade. No actual benefit to the purpose of the game.

you forgot the biggest lt2 problem, the hackers and duping, which ruined the economy and players experiences. also lt2 doesnt update anymore 1-because defaultio is working on test2 2-because lumber tycoon 2 was meant to be a game that doesnt update that much, because as defaultio said if u update the game too much it will just be too much content and ruin the game, thats why we dont get much updates. this makes sense to why the game only had big updates during alpha and beta, the game wasnt finished yet. but now it is

Id say lt2 is still going strong if we compare it to refinery caves which was basically the same thing but is now dead, updating the game could be a bad thing in the long term since old players use lt2 for nostalgia because of its old look and building style. Yes, updates are seasonal but still shows Devs somewhat care and wont let the game die that easily As examples we could use work at the pizza place and prison life. What id say good about lt2 is its pretty basic gameplay which wont get too grindy and basically freedom to build anything you want. (build a boat for a treasure would fall, there)

That’s why in the video I kind of explained how a game dies rather than putting it towards Lumber Tycoon. But I just wanted to put the video out there giving the fact that it did use to be big and now it’s not but it definitely found its balance in players.

It still can sometimes 7000+ concurrent players, which was the number that used to get whenever it was the roblox number 1 top concurrent players. Also your script seems... Weird. Very... Very.... I don't understand the fall of lumber tycoon 2. It still has around 4k-5k active players during the weekends which is good for most roblox games. Also, Lumber tycoon 2 reached 11k active players not to long ago and also added new tree which didn't have added in YEARS. Lumber tycoon 2 ain't gonna anytime soon because of the events they added every year and the amount of replayability. Lumber tycoon 2 does have problems like exploiting and duping but still a good game.
