In 2019, I had a co-worker who was a Pirates fan and would listen to the radio broadcasts and say things like, "They're playing like a Little League team!" So, I'm glad I didn't grow up a Pirates fan. My team has had success in this century (Red Sox), but just had a brutal offseason where we lost most of our free agents, Bogaerts and Eovaldi hurting the most. Story needs surgery, so our team will be like the Pirates this coming year at best. I think the Pirates will be good in a couple of years, like the Astros got good fast (but without the cheating of course). I want them to do good. It's not like I hate their players like I hate Machado for ruining Pedroia's career. And now Bogey is going to play beside him! At least for a year if Machado opts out after 2023. Just typing to see if maybe I can give you more video ideas.

Major problem with the pirates is our ownership! I work at a resort that was owned by Bob Nutting (Current owner of the pirates worth around 1 Billion $) He paid house keepers who worked there for 9+ years just $9/hr (this was in 2022) My position is being a ski instructor where i made $7.25/hr I say all this to show that the man is simply a cheap businessman and you see it with the day to day operations of the team. I’m not asking him to throw money around like Steven Cohen (Current Mets owner) but when you have players on your team that are near generational talent levels you need to pay them. I go to school for sport’s management and I would never accept the role of GM of the pirates if it was handed to me because of the business practices that are currently in place. Being savvy and lucky through trading and drafting is your only hope and even when your prospects hit you have a very short window to do anything with them! I love the city of Pittsburgh and glad we have 2 teams that conduct business the right way. I only hope the pirates can be the 3rd team for the sake of the players, employees, and culture of the city Great video keep up the amazing work

Perhaps few recall, but the now dominant Houston Astros lost over 100 games three consecutive years, 2011-2013. The Oakland A’s made the playoffs 6 times between 2012-2020. The Boston Red Sox made the playoffs 11 times between 2003-2021, winning 4 World Series, but during that span finished in last place 4 times. Cherington deserves credit for what he's put together so far in Pittsburgh. Their record over the last 3 years is irrelevant. This is year 4 of a 5 year rebuild, and at that time a team should be showing signs of improvement and debuting of the young players Cherington has acquired. And this is exactly what they are. This reminds me of the 2012 team, maybe a year away from truly contending but will play much better baseball. Though the NL Central is weak. If the Pirates can hover around .500, they'll be in division contention until the end of the season.
@41Brother2 Жыл бұрын

I don't consider the run from 2013-2015 a rise for the Pirates. Sure they made 3 straight wild card games. And in year 1 they won the game against the Reds. However the owner refused to add much needed real talent. And they lost in 5 to the Cards because of it. And they lost the next 2 wild card games because they still refused to add much needed real help at the deadline. Then they began to sell off the remaining talent for more prospects. And have had just 1 winning season since

Oh the Buckos.... Am I the only one that feels Bryan Reynolds is overplaying his hand? When Nolan Arenado requested a trade from the Rockies he had the numbers, and had put in the time in CO to support a desire to leave. Bryan Reynolds still has a lot of work to do in that respect. He had a decent 2022, but he's not exactly coming off a 300+ BA, 100+ RBI, and 30+ HR campaign for the asking price. I feel like he has the potential to do that, so I can see why the Pirates are reluctant to trade him. I don't think teams should get in the habit of trading players away just because that player doesn't like the current situation, that's bad for the game. I had mad respect for Cutch, he was on some pretty dumpster fire Pirates teams, but they eventually got their shot at the Postseason, he did his time. Reynolds just completed his 4th season, and he's not exactly Barry Bonds.

The Gerri Cole trade tree(which would include the Musgrove return) is David Bednar and Endy Rodriguez. Cutch brought back Reynolds. Marte - Liover Peguero. The J.Taillon return was Roansy Contreras. Adam Frazier - Jack Suwinski. The Josh Bell trade was bad but they traded him at wrong time. They traded him coming off a horrible season and at his lowest value. The mistake in the Archer trade was adding Shane Baz as the PTBNL. And that was even the thought at the time. Glasnow can’t stay healthy and Meadows is ok but Archer was the prize at that trade deadline. Most of this information in this video isn’t exactly right.

I'm a Cardinals fan but I don't have any animosity towards the Pirates, and I want to see them start becoming a good (2nd place) team in their division again.
