Well one she isn't the smartest person in the world, but at the time there was a pretty limited amount of people who really knew how to run a wrestling promotion, and WWE was running 3 shows, ROH was up and down but still running shows, and those people were willing to come work for her and Impact. And you could make a case that Russo did some good, and that Hogan and EB did some things right, they just made really bad mistakes too and Dixie didn't really know when to say no or how to assert her ownership to benefit her company. I would say ideally EB or Paul Heyman would have been the best choices to run the company without Hogan or the others.

I remember TNA when it was on The Wrestling Channel (now called the Fight Channel or something) back in 2005/2006. It must've moved to Challenge much later. I used to watch WWE SmackDown! on Saturday nights when it was on Sky One but couldn't watch it when they moved it to Sky Sports in early 2005 as my family didn't subscribe to the sports channels. I'd never heard of TNA but thought it reminded me of WWE when I found it. I remember Kurt Angle joining TNA but lost interest in pro-wrestling shortly after that as I was in my teens by that point.

TNA was the first live wrestling event I went to and it was great. I remember it was more accessible on TV than WWE at times so I watched it. I loved watching the promos, the matches and PPVs and guys like Somoza Joe, Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, Abyss, Austin Aries, James Storm etc (I could go on) made it great. And who can forget, my favourite tag team of all time, Curry Man and Shark Boy.

One major flaw in the story. Spike TV wanted to own TNA, Dixie did not want to sell the company to them and lose all control of it. This is from Dixie herself, which would be the most inside story possible. Spike likely was not interested in a product that they saw potential in, yet they could plainly see was horribly mismanaged

I started watching TNA because WWE switched to Sky Sports (a package we didn't have) around 2004. In the UK we had the Wrestling Channel where TNA and ROH were the stalwarts. TNA in the mid 2000s was amazing, though at the time I took it for granted and just wanted to watch WWE. The TNA roster was incredible; Jeff Jarrett, Abyss, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Sting, Low Ki, (The Fallen Angel) Christopher Daniels, America's Most Wanted, Team Canada, 3 Live Kru, Raven and even more...

@@jrsmith1998 Nah they tried bringing it back already. It was poorly received by both fans and wrestlers. Fans thought they were copying UFC. Because ofc UFC apparently created the concept of a six sided ring which means no one else ever can use one. But the wrestlers hated it because it was harder to work in, and smaller than the standard 4 sided ring. It's more familiar to the wrestlers and ofc they get more space to work with. I'm not against them bringing back the 6 sided ring personally. But in almost every way it would be a really bad decision outside of maybe like, an annual throwback show like they kinda did when they bought back the TNA Branding for one night. Or how WWE sometimes do classic raw or smackdowns (altho tbh the way WWE does it is insanely lazy they just change some logos, the ring apron, and ropes and that's it not even the stage or anything.

During the show, I screamed at Erb 'You screwed Bret' to which he replied, 'I know, asshole.' The X-Division, Beer Money, MCMG, Abyss, Bully Ray, AJ, Knockout division, and so much more made the product a must-watch. Sadly, the company fell apart, which seemed to coincide with the arrival of Hogan and Bichoff

He told us once before TNA started up that Jeff and Jerry were talking about creating their own company, so I knew of TNA before it even began. My cousin would end up working for Jerry Jarrett, not sure what kind of job it was. But, it was all cool. One night I was flipping channels and came across the ppv channel promoting TNA's first show that night, I told my mom that this might be that company we were told about so I asked if I could order it. At any point in time could TNA ever really be called “WWEs competition”? Cmon man. At best it was akin to a Double A baseball team. It was middle minor league. They had some aging superstars who could still put some butts in seats, young stars on their way up to the majors, and journey men who just couldn’t give up the dream. At no time ever was TNA any actual competition to Vince and Co. If Vince ever thought it was an actual challenge to his empire, he would’ve crushed it with the same things that worked to end WCW.

TNA once had the prospect of growing big enough to become WWE's competition., at least. They could've grown organically and continued to be innovative. They got ahead of themselves and made some terrible decisions. They should not have touched Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff with a barge pole let alone given them power (seriously, after what happened in WCW, what were they thinking?) , but some ex WWE/WCW guys were brilliant in TNA like Kurt Angle and Sting.

That along with Jeff Hardy being there made me start watching TNA and although I started watching in 2011 and not earlier, I still loved the storylines and they feel nostalgic. Matt Hardy's delete persona that stuck with him even in WWE, Aces and Eights, Joker Sting, Jeff Hardy as Willow, his first ever heel run, even when he was loaded with drugs on Victory Road 2011 against Sting, although it was a disaster and it was very real and I wish Jeff all the best in battling his addiction, the moment felt fitting for his character because someone like Jeff turning heel for the first time ever made it seem like he was battling his personal demons, even though I didn't realize it was happening in real life too.
