The Itchy Boots standard set now shows that “off the beaten path” and story telling is the key to success. It took me a long time to realize nobody want to watch a shot from a camera on the handlebar no matter how cool I thought the place I was riding was. My most watched video has very little road shots.
@AntiParallali

It's definitely all about the story yeah, otherwise you're just watching random riding shots. Although I do appreciate the montages of the nothing but exhaust sound type of riding 💕

@@AntiParallali Exactly. I started making KZbin videos from my scuba diving when i lived in the Philippines. All my friends who I dove with had been doing it for a long time and never put humans in the shot saying it is about the wildlife. Looking back at my early videos, I wish I had more of my friends in the video both under water and in the boat/on shore. It would back for better viewing and memory capture. I try to make travel videos with my family but they all hate the camera so it makes it difficult. I appreciate your guidance.

Lali's back! I've been following you since I saw you in a video with Andy, years ago. I'll be 62 in 5 weeks and I've been riding since I was 13. (on the street at 15 and a half) It's almost 60 degrees in NorCal and I'm gonna take a ride in honor of all y'all freezing your butts off back east. Ride safely, Doc. (I ride a '20 Z900rs now. My first street bike was a '75 Z1b in 1978.)

I do have Instra360 X3, quality is quite lacking, especially if lighting isn't perfect and the OEM protective lenses is used (yes that option is on in the settings of camera). So, sure, it's cool to have 360 view, but there's a reason why most content isn't filmed with it, but with something which has a better quality even if not 360. As far as reviews go, X4 isn't relevantly better. But I guess the point of this video is that quality doesn't matter if people watch it on the phone instead of KZbin.

Bună ziua Lali! Cool video of the evolving motovlogging! I remember when I got a KZbin account and back then wasn't watching a lot of content as I do now. If I recall correct, I think bakerXderek is one of the first I subscribed to and watched videos of. Still do as well. But when I fell in love with motorcycling, more and more, I found more and more motovloggers. Thank all the gods, cause you all contributed in me getting on a bike and start riding as well. Which is something I should've done sooner but have not much regret of getting into it around 3/4 years ago. All the driving experience I have in the car and with traffic definitely made me more prepared for riding motorcycles. First I got consumed and watch content through KZbin. To get familiar in a way of the view behind handlebars and gain knowledge. Back then which was around 2016-2018 maybe 2019 even I increasingly watched more and vloggers. And up to 2021 contacted riding schools. We all know what came then. So lots of delay later and 2022/2023 is when I actually could start at the school and in the end passed all of it. Obtaining my license and purchased my first bike which I still love and enjoy to this day. Been an awesome journey growing with you all and for that I am forever grateful. And I plan in making a video for this as well telling my story. Also my attention span is again: thank all the gods, still super solid. I enjoy long videos WAY more then short videos. I like to listen to the stories you and others tell. Was and is so inspirational still. And can't wait to do more riding and traveling myself. Document it and make memory videos for me to enjoy and for others if they so please.

I don't motovlog but I did buy a GoPro a couple years ago when starting riding. The goal was at least to have a "dashcam" at all times on my helmet, to capture anything cool offroad, to capture any evidence on the road. I learned that being the industry standard doesn't equal a good product. The touchscreen is the least responsive I've ever used (worse than resistive screens), it's so small which doesn't help, the dang thing can't even keep the time between battery changes (it can't sync with my phone time--why not!?), and their app's other functionality doesn't work. For example, the only working way to format the SD card, is through the camera screen. So you have to remove it from the helmet. Oh, and requiring an $80 "media mod" just to plug in a microphone!? Screw GoPro...they deserve to be "disrupted."

Good topic and nice video. Snow and short days sure do kill actually riding! I wonder if you would make a video suggesting/demonstrating how to edit a 360 video into a traditional format, including tip on identifying a story, transitions between views, etc. then how to assemble that audio to have at least some onbike spoken audio so the whole thing doesn’t have to be dubbed in post (loosing excitement). Similarly, how much image stabilization is too much? I’d say at the point you can tell that you aren’t flying and are in fact on a motorcycle…

@@AntiParallali, I'd rather see someone as they learn something. I've have 30+ hours of 360 video from a small area in Colorado, shot from a front bumper mounted post on my Jeep. The idea at that time for me, was to "not miss things like animals", while still having my attention on the "road". I went though and pulled stills that were nice to share. All I did with the video was upload it directly to KZbin. Since the videos are like 3h each, they were not watched beyond 5-10 minutes. Which is all fine, as I got the stills I was actually wanting. But I'm thinking of making some kind of video using all that raw footage to draw from. In any case, keep doing what you enjoy!

360 video looks much more "potato" than 16:9 videos.. it's just that you only showed the quality that was convenient for your.. narrative. You failed to mention that on those cameras you're sponsoring you cannot adjust shutter speed, which is visually the most important thing that makes speed and motion much more gut-felt than what a 360 camera can give.
@AntiParallali
@AntiParallali 15 күн бұрын
You can adjust the shutter speed on the X4 😁 onlinemanual.insta360.com/x4/en-us/camera/basicuse/lowlight the tutorial video link at the bottom can show you how. 360 looks potato only when you don't shoot in a high enough resolution and then crop in.
@Photo_Cyclist
@Photo_Cyclist 15 күн бұрын
@AntiParallali but can you compensate with an ND filter on those lenses? Cause that's what you need when you slow shutter speed down.. that was implied in my comment (sorry if it was not explicitly mentioned)
@AntiParallali
@AntiParallali 14 күн бұрын
I don't believe they sell ND filters for the X4 in particular (maybe a 3rd party does) but they do "compensate" for it with the AI in app setting called "Motion ND" that you can apply on a slider scale % to footage for that cinematic blur. But I haven't played around too much with that setting yet
