I've tried all the flavors of her lip treatment and after they've been used a couple times the formula gets really grainy. They would be perfect if that didn't happen. It almost feels like you have sugar on your lips. The rest of the products are decent. I've tried everything. It's all good but not revolutionary.

Honestly the products were never meant and in all fairness advertised as revolution it's suppesed to a basic starter (all in one, no fuss) skincare. Personally I believe there is a lot of similar basic but also a little bit more advanced skincare at the same time and between the shipping and actual price more affordable (I don't find 30$ really affordable😅😅)

I work in celebrity brand licensing in Hollywood and you do a great job on your videos! One thing to note: Celebs have very little involvement in these brands. I've worked on Gaga and she literally has one meeting every year on some product lines. It's basically entrepreneurs who pitch talent agencies to get the business and talent is paid a royalty. So the celeb's brand is taking a risk on the partner. Also Hailey especially is quite "manufactured" by her management. We are likely going to find out down the road that she is actually Justin's sober companion (just a guess). These arrangements happen all the time in Hollywood.
@MODELBODYINTL Жыл бұрын
But also just know she sells product. I haven't worked on her but I've heard she moves units and that's why she's so popular. My friend manages Selena's PR - all that stuff is manufactured as well for more press.

As someone with the most extreme dry skin (autoimmune disease) that’s very sensitive, Rhode was incredible… at first. I used it for about 6-7 months, cycling through 3 orders and even ordering backups each order, and only using the brand, no additions, so I knew I loved it. But, at some point somewhere about a year ago, my skin started looking dull, congested, older, and it just wasn’t working for me. I then switched back to Youth to the People and the livelihood came back. It’s a working theory, but I think the overload of peptides is what did it. You’re introducing the same actives and ingredients 3+ times in layers, it’s going to overload. I get the brand concept being peptides are the new it thing, but I feel like the products themselves ultimately do not play well together for the long haul. It’d be nice to see a non-harsh, soothing brand that works in harmony. For instances, all the products are great stand alone products and I’ve been successfully using the moisturizer solo with other skincare with no “overload”. So, why not do a barrier support cream sans peptides; give the peptides its time to shine in the serum… From a marketing and expansion POV, limiting yourself to only formulating to include peptides cuts out a lot of potential. Even the most resilient of skin is going to be overloaded eventually. Idk. Just a thought lol.
@underskinYT6 ай бұрын
Yeah, I hope they don’t get too limited down into it because there is more scope out there. That said I don’t think I’ll have too much of a trouble exploring outside of peptides when the winds change. But I am curious to know if more people like yourself, had a problem with overloading on it.

One aspect of the startup’s brand marketing that I found unfavorable was the inclusion of Hyram in one of their videos. My concern primarily pertains to the fact that he did not possess the specialized expertise required for the role. I wish to clarify that my intention is not to discredit his accomplishments, but rather to highlight that he gained prominence during the pandemic, primarily in the context of skincare, and subsequently became the face of this particular trend. Given the circumstances, it appears that there were numerous other individuals with more relevant expertise who could have been considered as alternatives, and the choice to feature Hyram in this capacity may not have been the most judicious one.
@underskinYT Жыл бұрын
But also we should probably be sceptical about his input in the brand, was he just used as promotion? Or did he really have a say in the brand? We will never know these things, and because of his popularity is socially both can be possible

I think to say that Rhode won’t have longevity is premature since it’s only 1 year old and they aren’t even global yet despite most of their website traffic being from South America and Asia. And they have only 4 products basically not main ones like cleanser and sunscreen. I personally like everything from the brand, the things that I will definitely keep repurchasing are the lip treatments and the glazing milk (it cleared a rash on my chest in 2 days). It’s not meant to be revolutionary but for ppl like me overwhelmed by the skincare world, it does a good job of providing great ingredients w the glowy look at a reasonable price. A lot of the negative reviews came from her haters during the drama so I wouldn’t trust them completely esp having tried it myself.

i get the ick when celebrities launch skincare brands, as i feel that most of them are just overpriced drugstore quality cremes and serums that don’t even meet the need criteria for skin improvement. i prefer rare beauty, as i think their melting blushes are just beautiful design wise and work well for me. also, while think rare beauty foundations are very basic, their blushes and liquid blushes have a more individual design as minimal make up brands these days. but focusing back on skincare, i don’t really get the thought of inviting a skincare influencer to represent your product. especially when it comes to skincare you need to have skin specialist to back you up. and with skin specialists i don’t mean skincare hobbyist with a slight consumer problem but people who majored in chemistry or anything in the dermatology kind of field. also everything has been looking the same lately, i really can’t tell the difference between ilia, rem and rhode beauty
@underskinYT10 ай бұрын
Just as my own opinion, I don’t necessarily think it’s bad for them to have brought on cosmetic influencers to be part of the promotion in the way that they did, only because we know from experience that most celebrities who start their own brands in cosmetics, have no knowledge in that whatsoever themselves. They’re usually just the front of a premade business, REM, SKKN, rare beauty, all included in that. So to me, there’s not a huge amount of difference between having a celebrity be the face of the brand, and having cosmetic influencer suggested as a guide to the brand

It's so interesting to know about a brand from the marketing angle. I wasn't aware of frictions caused for other brands. I use their glazing milk, because while 'vibe' isn't unique, the formula contains zinc and few other ingredients, which help my skin. I haven't tried other products. In terms of foundations, I think that the fact they do it for tax reasons is secondary. They still help disadvantaged people, and I am happy about that.

@@underskinYT a cash grab is something done solely for the purpose of making money, no passion, no interest & might not even work. I still think people buy these "celebrity beauty lines" to just try to buy a piece of their fave celebrity they really don't have a legacy or quality for that matter. When the celebrity stops being popular the brand dies especially in beauty. Then you have us pro makeup artists with brands busting our buts and really trying to build legacy brands that could be used on all skin types and shoot conditions.... Am I bitter no 😂I know ill still be around when these celebs have grand children and their products are on the racks of TJ max 😹
